  5. No, my friend paid the deposit, it was like $105. I still haven't even gotten my check this month. I still have to buy the books for my classes this semester lol. It could come in today, tomorrow, or next week...(probably next week considering how last month's check went). But don't worry, you'll get the rest of your money.......eventually. Is anyone going to PCP this afternoon? Or is everyone just going straight to Hazem's later? Edit: Nevermind, something came up, I can't make it to Hazem's today.
  6. I really hope that SoD thing is a mistranslation. I mean, Mu is supposed to be da gawd of GP breaking, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to take that away. The other changes seem fine though. It never made much sense for Mu to have five GPs, but Rachel only gets four lol.
  7. I just paid two bucks to unlock Mu, I still haven't even touched story mode. Also, I know this is sudden, but there's a very high possibiltiy that I'll be moving in with some friends near the beginning of next month (we've paid the deposit and everything). Would anyone be interested in coming over to my place for some games later next month? It's a decent size two-story apartment, the first floor has room for maybe two-three setups and there are also two bedrooms that could be used for setups. It's in north-ish Phoenix near 16th Ave and Glendale.

  10. Practicing that Gold Burst combo C0R posted. Love getting 4.8k off of Gold Burst in the corner lol. Applying it to a Guard Crush, I've been able to get some wicked damage. According to the System Guide, a Guard Crush acts like the first attack of a combo with P1 90. So if you still have a Burst, you have all the time in the world after a Guard Crush to carry them closer to the corner and Gold Burst (or two!) for that juicy 110 bonus proration. P2 starting to corner: Guard Crush, daaaaaash > A+B+C+D > (walk forward a bit A+B+C+D) > walk forward a bit 5C > (2C) > 6C > SoD (slight charge) > 6B > dash 6A > JC j2C > jD > 2B > 5C > 2C > JC j2C > jD > dash 2B > 6A > JC jC > j2C > 3C > SoD > 632146C (52 MG without 2C) One Gold Burst: 6.5k Two Gold Burst: 7.1k 2C after 5C is optional and easier to drop if you mess up the height. You can just do 5C > 6C > SoD (slight charge)... and still get the 50 meter for super. 6.5-7k off a guardcrush midscreen with corner carry and two orbs. Nope, our character isn't broken at all...

Finals was against a friend who plays a very solid Arakune. Any advice other than "stop dropping combos you scrub"? I think I missed almost every dash link that day, and poor hitconfirms off air unblockables, so my combos were pretty sad.

  14. Guys I think I may have found some weird glitch or exploit. Remember the video pochp posted with 3C, 214D, run up and green throw? I'll have to dig through the video thread to find it, but I've been messing with it and have gotten some weird results. I'll have to record a video of it later, but basically you already have a stein over them in the corner, from a combo or otherwise. Then you end a combo with a very close 3C, cancelled into 214D for oki. Then, assuming they're scared enough to neutral tech immediately, you run in and throw them just as they tech. If you do it right (timing isn't hard) your grab should connect right when they tech, and it will be green despite the explosion. However...if they only have one primer left, and you green throw them, you'll green throw then while they get guard crushed. You'll throw them, right as their guard breaks and you hear the shattering effect. Their guard primers will be zero, but you can still combo off the grab and everything. But here's the weird part. After they recover from your combo, their guard primers will recover. But any next hit you do that they block, will guard crush them again, except they won't lose primers. You'll hear the guardstun sound effect and their guard crush voice clip. You can still do a full guard crush combo and everything. I guess it's because the game didn't register them as getting guard crushed as you throw them. It looks totally wacky, I wonder if there's some practical use with this.
  15. Ruben, how long do you plant to stay at PCP? It won't take long to get to Armando's by bus, but a ride would be nice. Edit: Wow that was an amazing typo. I'm going to leave it in.
  16. Well, I think most players would agree that getting good, offline experience is necessary for improving. But (taking a note from LK here) online play can still be very beneficial for matchups and adapting to different styles of play. As long as you find decent players with good connections and can adapt between online and off, online can be a good way to get better.

  19. That comment was a little tongue and cheek, but all I'm saying is to just give him a chance. He can be loud and likes to mess around (i.e. taunting in matches and stuff like that, oh lawd Mahvel) but he's not really a bad person.
  20. Any tips for Noel's airthrow combo? Right now I'm just doing airthrow > 2B > 6C > A Optic > dash 6C > drive bnb. I have trouble connecting the 22B~C. The times I do get it, the other character is too high for me to to A Optic > 6C > Drive bnb. Edit: Also, what's the timing for the RC in the throw > RC > 2/4D midscreen combos?
  21. Yeah. I know he's really loud and obnoxious, but once you get to know him better...he's really loud and obnoxious. No but seriously, I played against him the other day and he was actually, well...doing stuff when we played and he has an interest in getting better and playing other people offline. Don't dismiss a possible new member of the scene just because of first impressions.

  23. Hey guys, trying to pick up some Noel. I've got most of basic combos and pressure down, but I have a question. How do you guys confirm a CH 6A anti-air? It's a great anti-air, but I have a hard time confirming it into a combo on CH cause they fly away. Should I just do something like 2B or 6C ahead of time, and then see if they block or not? Sorry if this was already asked.
