  1. This 6K loop is hard to hit... 2S > 6K is OK, but repetitions of 6K, OMG. I think i'm not charging back quick enough. FAB does it with lag, the bastard xD 5P buff seems nice. Although I think it's still a bit shitty for not hitting crouching enemies. But we shouldn't expect to have AC Pot in Xrd I guess =P
  2. Nice video, man! good to know that zappa can still summon instant raohs! Mukade (236p) fills only 1 sphere now, but that 4 sphere overdrive is sexy shiiiit =) About the 5HS, I think it's kinda hard to block. I usually do 5P, 5D (dog), 5HS... but you can do with other moves that link into 5HS, like c.S, 6P, etc. the 5D is to help zappa to hide the 5HS animation, so it becomes tougher for the enemy to see the 5HS coming. it's very good to do 5HS, FRC, 2K, 5D, dash, c.S, 2HS, followup.. does tons of damage and you can reset the combo with 4DD to keep the pressure :D edit: although the dog got a bit nerfed in +R, I think it's still lovely! you don't use it as a bait as much as in AC, and since you don't have as many unblockables you need to explore all his moves further, and his positioning too!
  3. ok..................................... http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm21715989
  4. HAHAH! that would be sweet! j.HS, j.DA, j.HS, j.DA, j.HS, j.DA.....
  5. I don't have the game yet, so I asked Nikki to try that combo. I've been thinking about it since I heard you'd be able to cancel j.HS into j.DA =B I believe there are so many possibilities for combos... although Raoh does less damage, that combo took 60% without meter... so... >=) I think you may do j.HS, land, j.S, j.HS, DA, j.HS again before you fall to the ground. if so, you may be able to land and do 6HS > DA[K followup], dash, 214+S or something like that lol As soon as I get my hands on +R I'll test more stuff!
  6. I'd just like to say,,, that +R Zappa is gonna be FOCKEN SWAG http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eejmp7xhjEA&feature=youtu.be
  7. Wow, that's just awesome! Thanks a lot for that! :D It's of great help, because some friends of mine want to start playing GG but they are having a hard time in finding recent videos, since we don't see many active channels anymore. Does Italy have many active GG players? That's really nice =D
  8. Hello! We have been playing a lot of GG later and also recording some matches... so I decided to create a thread to post the videos instead of creating a thread for each occasion/tournament. I hope you guys enjoy it! We'll record as many videos as we can! game is alive, bros! :D Casuals between GuiltyLuiz/Mao, me and Arthega. Comments of any nature are more than welcome! Thanks for watching! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqHc-ypiRwc&feature=player_embedded#! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiuRfNsO_ok&feature=player_embedded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJPgYKszzbo&feature=player_embedded
  9. one difference from AC to AC+ is that some bugs were removed... something involving ino's aerial overdrive, that if done at the same time the other player does other overdrive, it'll reset the game or crash it or something. Nothing major, but if you get the chance, go for ACplus. =) and welcome! \o\
  10. Ahm... I'm no proficient BB player (not really, I have only tested the game xD) but I imagine that the most important proficiency in GG, after you master your character's BnB and advanced combos, is like moving through the screen and mindgaming/pressuring with FRCs and stuff.... because I thing the way you make corner and midscreen pressures, and even the combo system, are quite different from BB! Not to mention that Guilty gear is quite faster... But surely, if you already play BB it'll make things easier, since both games seems to have similar styles. =)
  11. I see your point but I can tell FOR SURE that things are getting better. By topics: - Veterans rape newcomers That may be true for veterans who don't know how to teach newcomers how to play. If I'm starting a F-game, like I was trying with MVC3, and the experienced guy rippes my ass off, I'll certainly be mad because I won't even have time to try a few moves and combos in the fight. On the other hand, if the experienced guy is patient and explains the basic, in the training if necessary, giving directions to the newcomer about how to do the BnB of your char/team and how to survive for at least some minutes... I can assure he'll enjoy playing it. And that's what we have been trying to do with GG newcomers. =) - No more offline meetings to play Look, online something that will never dominate in brazil... mainly because our connection speed sucks a lot lol. Offline meetings still take place kinda oftenly, both in casuals and championships. Not the same way they did a few years ago, but that's different from 'not being viable'. Also, players should try hard to keep the ofline scene alive, specially the internet warriors who only care about sitting on a chair and playing laggy, you know what I mean =/ - Thanatos IMO, and I believe Thana agrees with this himself, he stopped taking GG seriously a few years ago. He played Eddie, then he changed to Bridget and after that HE started calling himself a casual player. Not because he was playing a weak character, but because he didn't have the hype to train for championships anymore (personal reasons, I believe). In his city there were 3 or 4 GG players, but nowadays probably only Thana and Blackheart would make efforts to attend to a GG meeting. Some time ago, a beasting GG scene grew up in Rio de Janeiro and several top players crushed everybody in a champ called Heaven or Hell tournament. They were disapointed, because the hole top3 or top4 was occupied by members from their "group"... so they didn't really face any challenges. After that, the scene in Rio and Brazil cooled of, but didn't extinguish, and we are trying to keep it alive by promoting offline meetings and small championships, inviting players from all over the country... and we have been having success, so far. =) Also, Thanatos have been working and studying a lot lately, having even less time to spend playing video games... so I wouldn't see this as a good reference to demonstrate the GG scene in Brazil. ^^ Sleon/Nikki posted some videos on nico, and japanese players were quite surprised because they didn't expect to find a GG scene here... or to find anything in brazil besides beaches, soccer or coffee oO My point is, we have players and championships for UMVC3, SSFIV, BB, 3S... and ALSO for Guilty Gear. And we plan to keep it up for as long as we can. :D Only one last thing... this thread was opened by a newcomer who's willing to learn to play GG, so I think it's much more interesting to bring the hype than to tell him the game's not viable or whatsoever. That wasn't excactly useful, you know... just saying.
  12. About beating the cpu, it's always hard. Are you playing in the hardest mode? The cpu will always yomi you, predict your actions and, many time, counter them with painful combos (some of them you won't know they even exist). I think the best way to beat the cpu is REACTION. Try to learn how to punish every whiff (THEY ARE FEW) "she" makes, with good damage, and you should be fine. =) Usually when I get to I-no boss, I reset the game... It's annoying when you're able to punish something and in the middle of the combo she'll retreat and charge that ball-shit super lol EDIT PICK A TOP TIER jk hehe. You should aim for feeling comfortable with the gameplay + visual (its hard to play a char you find to be ugly) + strength. in that order. If you like zoning around, you would do good in picking axl. If you like easy damage, you should pick slayer. If you like grabs, you should go for Pot. I mean, each character has his own special traits in the gameplay (which is one of the factors that make GG an unique game) so you should aim for that at first. Visual is also important, because once you like the char's gameplay and visual, you'll probably feel 100% comfortable playing him/her. In my case I play zappa who, in my opinion, has the most blasting gameplay and visual in the whole game lol. Strength IMO is the third one, and if it's important or not it would depend if you plan to play the game competitively or casually. If you want to beast and win all the fucking tournaments, it would be really hard to acomplish that playing a bottom tier. IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE, but you could get really frustrated... so you should take a look at recent tier lists and look from medium tiers to above, and then try to pick someone from there. If you plan to play the game casually, then pick whoever you feel comfortable with and have a nice one. =) One last thing. I understand blazblue has online playing and that turns things easier for the players, as GG is a PS2 offline game and only a few arcades (afaik) have the game active... but don't let that mean the game is dead! there are several places in the world that still have an active GG scene (I MEAN SEVERAL, in Brazil for example we're doing tournaments and posting videos and people usually don't know that GG exists in here lol) and willing to keep it active for a long time! Love seeing new players! GG is a great game, and IT'S not dead! keep up with the good work! sorry for the crap english xD
  13. He's having some issues, but if he haven't been playing GG for some time, I can't notice it o.o such a beast
  14. Hey mates \o\ I just lost a hole post because I took too long to write it and logged out for being innactive, I think -_- so I'll summarize everything. We had a champ here in April 2 and 3 to celebrate my "farewell", as I'm going to Canada in June to spend a few weeks working in a summer camp. We had Guilty Gear XX Accent Core 1x1, Street Fighter 3 Third Strike 2x2 and Blazblue Calamity Trigger 2x2 champs. We couldn't use the CS version because we don't have arcades or any other legal and cool way of playing it. The 3 champs were in Double Elimination format. The results: [street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike] 2×2 random pairs Winner: kA (Gouki) & Setsuna (Remy) 2nd Place: Helder (Necro) & PPotter (Twelve) 3rd Place: Hellscream (Hugo) & Luckzero (Chun-Li) Blazblue: Calamity Trigger 2×2 random pairs Winner: Japalook (Rachel) & Sensei (Tager) 2nd Place: Roadie (Noel) & kA (v-13) Guilty Gear XX Accent Core 1×1 Winner: SOAD (Baiken) 2nd Place: Hellscream (Potemkin) The videos can be watched in the champ channel on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/user/farewellhellscream#p/u We didn't have good recording equipments, as we had to use cellphone cameras and standart digital cameras to record everything. Also, some matches may not show a good level of gaming because most of the players played all the 3 games just to participate - some are good at 3s but don't play gg or blaz, some play only gg, etc. In fact, the purpose of the champ was to gather the players for a celebration, have fun, some drinks and play some games, it wasn't REALLY a competition with prizes and everything. Although the Guilty Gear champ ended up being really competitive with cheering, screams and everything hahaha. I really hope you enjoy it! And please, any tips on how to rape the pink cripple samurai, I mean Baiken, are mostly welcome. ^^" Cheers, folks! \o\ PS.: please, any players from Toronto - I'll be there from june 17 to 19 and I would surely like to have some versus with you guys :D
