BBCS2 Loketest 4: Oct. 23 Discussion (NO COMPLAINING)
J-KT21 replied to Spirit Juice's topic in Archive
I don't get some people complaining about combos averaging 2k. Like, are you really used to get 3k+ combos all the freaking time? I mean, Jin's meterless BnB mid-screen combos from his safest pokes all do around 2k, what's the big deal? Most characters have an average of 11k life. Meaning that 3k combos will kill you after 3 or 4 times (depending on your meter usage and poking in general). I have yet to understand people that complain about their top tier 3-4k meterless combos going down a thousand or so. That's exactly my thoughts. I wonder how all of this will turn out. It would be a better idea to either give us a couple more loketests or scrap the universal ground-to-air attacks unblockable business until BlazBlue 3. -
My love for fighting games had starting growing back again to me with KoF 2002, a few years ago. Hyped for KoF XII, the whole world said it sucked. I saw BlazBlue and it looked prettier and funner, looked so badass. Bought it, mained Noel and Ragna until I've tried everyone and became a Jin mainer.

Well, we've got 5D as a tradeoff. But I doubt it compensates, considering the fact that we still need 25% to combo with it. Was his 5C's range given back or something? I mean, the universal B, C, D attacks changes should warrant it, I think. All in all, if the universal air unblockable changes stay, how good/worse would Jin's pressure game VS defensive game look like?

I don't know if I'm the only one but I'm not liking the fact that they've decided into incorporating universal B, C and D attacks as air unblockable now, on the 4th and probably last lokelest. I like the idea of the whole "this ain't arcana heart, bitches!" thing. But incorporating such major changes can really hurt the balance of all characters. Basically, sometimes the trade-off isn't all that high for a few characters like, say, Bang. He's got crazy mad offensive pressure, I can see him (or Litchi!) catching a lot of players much more now. Is the tradeoff equal? I doubt it. Asking a Bang or Litchi to actually learn to block probably does not compensate for that 'buff'. Some characters that already have trouble pressuring might have even a harder time now (some others don't even have good normals to catch the opponent in the air on blockstrings). Anyway, my point is, if they really end the loketests now, I believe that things won't be as balanced as they would've been if we had kept the universal changes out of this. So, I really hope they do add a few more loketests in order to play and tweak with the 'new system' and balances for a little longer. -
Tell me you're just joking like Jourdal is, please ;_; ...

The match against Fumo was amazing. Tetsu/Hiro really is a BEAST. It's a shame that he was beaten so quickly by Tao though, stupid tauntloop and ridiculous matchup overall...
-
I'd have to agree with you on that one. She's seriously underrated as there aren't a lot of players that even play her to begin with. She has great speed, great damage, great combo-ability, great mobility... Also, when trapped in the corner, what's the best thing to do? Get out of it immediately (by jumping or something...)? Try to DP her out of it? Whenever I get corned by a Taokaka, I really have hard time knowing what to do (hell, I don't even know what to do at all to begin with). But aren't Air ice swords too punishable? I don't know, I've been quite conservative with 'em even against drive-happy taos, I get punished for using 'em a lot...
-
Damn, that guy's a cross-up beast! But is it me or was Kaqn not at the top of his game? Barely any IBs and ID punishes on risky chains/airdashes and consecutive 214D-A that hit.
-
It's pretty safe actually, as long as you don't spam it and make yourself obvious. But I wonder how would it be if it had the same properties as Gauntlet Hades and actually floated the opponent... It would be cool to just have a try...hmmm....
-
And to backup your claims: @ 0:26

Wow, I've been seriously overreacting about 5C's nerf I guess, thanks for clearing that up and sorry about all that. But it means that it still does the job just as well, right?
-
What I personally don't like is his 5C change. It's ridiculous and retarded. If they do that, why not cut off Ragna's leg? Why would a mediocre poke be nerfed and a great (one of the best) poke get buffed?
-
You're funny. If the changes stay, your little overnerfed Mu will outpoke him all day long and you'll go all in front of your TV, holding that controller of yours. 5C was already a pretty bad poke, making it air unblockable and give it a shorter range was the last thing he needed. They should just at least put it back to what it was in CS1. Again, you don't know how bad of a poke it is compared to a lot others.
-
They've nerfed his 5C range, you do know that, right? Meaning that our only long range poke is 5D which does not combo...
-
Pretty much what I thought. It's kinda risky to hit with an attack that does not have a disjointed hitbox nor head invincibility. Just imagine what the hitbox viewer would reveal: His cape (lolwtfridiculoushurtbox) getting further than his own sword (hitbox), that would be laughable. 5C air unblockable? I'd rather not have it.
-
2.Well, Location tests are tests. I'm not saying that it has to be an overhead but I'm really curious as to know why they simply don't want to try it out. I mean, 5C air unblockable? 2C > 5C? Were they even things any Jin player thought of to begin with? And I do know that 6B is already great as it is right now, never implied that it sucked . 3. So, most of the cast's overheads don't combo. A select few's still do. I fail to see how that could make a game balanced. You've got unrewarding overheads (a-la street fighter) and rewarding overheads (leading to combos), how is that balanced? And yes, I do need to play the game more. But I still fail to see the logic behind it. 5. Thanks for clarifying.
-
Yup. Hopefully, Jin gets 6B overhead. I'd totally go nuts and people would cry out for broken tier.
-
1. Thank you, that could be very interesting. 2. So no combos mid-screen? 3. I'm okay with that I guess, but Jin still lacks a reliable overhead I guess. I wonder why they haven't tried 6B as an overhead yet, this is seriously odd. Do they really fear that it's gonna be broken or something? 4. Doesn't that make everything completely unbalanced? 5. I've never actually tried it with the 214C ender but I thought that 214C's 2nd hit would whiff after like 10 or 12 hits? I've read that somewhere on Dustloop... Could you test it next time you play? That would be a pretty cool to see how effective it is and in what position do we end up in (advantage, disadvantage, neutral?)
-
The problem is that he has yet to find a new BnB combo. 5B > 3C > 214D-B has no follow-up right now, which is pretty dumb. Can anybody confirm if 5B > 3C > 214D-A works? I wonder if it's possible to do something else after 214D-A's air knockdown.
-
Might as well delete Hazama from the game entirely. Brother. He's looking uglier and uglier.
-
Does Sekkajin have a little knockback or is there completely none? I'm curious to see from how far can we combo somebody with it, hope it makes up for 3C > 2B combos. Is it possible to follow up with anything else after B DP? But if 6A does not lead to anything, doesn't that make it still too risky for nothing? Unless it's not -16 on block anymore, I don't really see the point of taking such a big risk, so if anybody could enlighten me on that one, I'd be glad. His high and low game has been buffed though, with 2B > 5B being back and stuff. Some of them still do? I also wonder if 5B > 2B > 5C > Sekkajin > 6C > dc >5C > HJC > j.2C > j.D > airdash > j.2C > j.C > 5B > 2B > 5C > 3C > 214C works, or does his IceCar's 2nd hit still whiff after x number of hits?
-
I'm disappointed too . I wonder how a player like Tetsu, who relies a LOT on Jin's 3C > oki game will play if the changes stay. So Ice Car B is back to the CT one? As in immediately techable as soon as they hit the ground? (Well, like our actual Ice Car C?) And does anybody know where are they headed with their sweeps? It seems to beat the whole purpose of being a sweep itself.
-
No offense taken. You've made me realize that I really should think before posting, sorry about that guys. But what can we do after 5D if you've got below 25%?
-
Oh, it does? I thought it was still the same thing, leaving Jin without no pressure options, just like the actual one. (Or was dc only unsafe on block? I don't even know anymore, as I don't even use that move...) I've had in mind that he couldn't follow up with anything else to keep pressure because the opponent could actually jab Jin out of his dc. So my only ideas were: 5D > dc > block or 5D - back to neutral grounds-, which aren't very useful. Then again, I guess that I was wrong, thanks for letting me know! You might want to try 2D .
