  1. David, I also need to know who played what characters in top 8. Thanks.
  2. Also, here are BB brackets. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/5681/blazingncibbcs.gif
  3. I need MB and AH3 brackets. Thanks.
  4. Pretty sure if I actually still played the game you'd be pretty sad to play against me, Rodrigo. :P
  5. You're probably thinking of Aginor, who was helping me run BB bracket and calling out matches that needed to be played. As far as commentary goes, I'll try to win an Oscar next time I do commentary for "best acting". In other words: since a small handful of people still care about CS1 and not CS2 (wha?), I'll do my best to pretend I like BBCS right now.
  6. Hard to get hype over old game at 2 AM in the morning. Sorry! And also trying to get hype over the same broken Arakune/Litchi/Bang shit over and over again is pretty difficult.
  7. It's singles because I say so. This is a serious post. Also, if anyone has any spare composite cables (meaning male to male cables), it would probably help me to record if you brough them.
  8. I would not stress about working too much on the guides before BBCS2 comes out on console.
  9. I don't play any of the NCI games. What happened?
  10. It is likely Koogy will be coming but unlikely he will be selling any shirts. He just got back from the east coast and it was more or less an all business trip for him. I told him to take it easy and just come to have fun. He's also very low on stock it seems. I can't speak for him though, so just take what I said with a grain of salt. Also, does anyone have a component splitter I can use? If not, I will be unable to record GG and MB for NCI.
  11. Post signs at the Mexican restaurant across the street from SJSU and I'm sure you'll get tons of entrants.
  12. The group of fans from SFII to SFIII to SFIV are pretty varied. XX is an aging franchise, and for the most part, the fans that started with XX or even X are old. I think the point was that making a new XX game would have a hard time getting new fans. Overhauling the game to cater to a more casual crowd would yield better results, but they already did that with BB... Guess we'll have to see what happens in the next years.
  13. The reason why old is in quotes is because they're old by Japan's standards. Hence the "What the hell are you doing playing video games at your age? Go home and be a family/salary man." line. Late thirties isn't even really old in the grand scope of things.

  15. I'm not sure how you think I'm implying that ASW didn't make money off of Guilty Gear, nor did I say that there are no players left. The point is that a "hardcore" market is a small market. A risky market. A market a business will have a hard time profitting on. Times have changed, and games have to change with the times.
  16. Would you make a game that caters to 1% of your fanbase or a game that caters to a much broader audience? While it's probably not the last time we'll see a GG fighter (maybe?), GGAC will be the last GG that's as complicated as AC. When you really think about it, the average GG player is probably "old" by Japan's standards. I started playing GGXX when I was 17, when XX came out. I'm 25 now. It's likely the average person that's been playing since XX probably started around my age, especially in Japan. Those young adults that started playing XX are now grown adults, and they're likely in their mid-20s and are salary men. In Japan, if you're playing video games at that age, people will ask "What the fuck are you doing playing video games at your age? Go home and be a family/salary man." Multiple friends of mine have been to Japan and pretty much only "old" salary men play GG at arcades anymore. It's kind of sad but true. The age of "hardcore" is gone. Making another GG game that's as "hardcore" won't sell. If another GG game is made, it'll be simplified. How much so? Who knows. Fighting games are a fickle bunch. They want "hardcore" games but don't want games that cater to casual gamers. Okay, so lets say you get your "hardcore" FG. You say you're happy. But now what? You'll be lucky to have a big scene these days, let alone a scene at all. You'll pretty much be foreveralone.jpg. What is a FG without anyone to play it with? So you say you want a game to play with everyone? Well, it's going to have to be a game that caters to casuals. Daisuke makes a good point that, as a business, you can't please everyone. You're going to have to please the majority and not the minority. The video game industry is a business. Businesses want to make money, and with today's economy, taking a risk with another "hardcore" GG is not a good idea. It's unfortunate, but people need to ditch the "tea party" mentality when it comes to FGs. Complaining about how new FGs don't cater to YOU doesn't help the situation at all. In this day and age of FGs, it's either play the new games or just don't play FGs at all. Otherwise, you're going to find yourself alone in playing the game you love and adore so much.
  17. Black ppl. *trollface.jpg*
  18. Having a hard time contacting Dean at Eudemania. I've called multiple times/left messages but he has not called me back. :|
  19. Even Level 3 X-Factor Sent is pretty ass against most characters. It's pretty easy to safely run away from him, and certain teams/characters can keep him out just fine.
  20. IMO, Tron goes well with Ammy but not Dante. Ammy and Dante don't seem very compatible at all. Tron goes well with Ammy because Tron can get Ammy out of trouble with her assist, but Dante doesn't make much use out of Ammy and Tron's assists. Dante having an assist that can help him close the gap, set up mix ups, or set up combos is probably best; AFAIK, none of Tron or Ammy's assists really do that. Besides, Dante and Ammy are best used as point characters; having them both on the same team is kinda eh...
  21. http://dustloop.com/guides/ggac/data/burst.html TL;DR: Different health value makes it restore faster and taking hits makes it restore, although the latter's formula is pretty complicated. Not like it matters in Accent Core since you pretty much die in two combos anyways.
  22. Enjoy being banned from everything forever. Also, since someone mentioned Final Fantasy games...
  23. I dunno how anyone could play Dante well on pad considering there are ton of weird jump cancel cancel options for him. But who knows since someone like Latif could do combo video style Eddie combos on a pad anything is possible. Burst, both GG and BB, aren't really comeback mechanics. Like Dusk Thanatos said, they're defensive options you get, but aren't really "rewarded" bursts for getting beat up. There's also a risk/reward factor in using bursts, and not to mention an even bigger downside to using them in BB. K-Groove is pretty balanced as a "comeback mechanic" but in a game like CvS2 (lol A-Groove), it's kind of whatever.
