  1. I guess a lot of the first impressions of MvC3 aren't very positive. lol
  2. If you can't find it by searching through created threads in his profile, it is gone forever. There aren't any hidden archives or anything, so once something is deleted from inactivity, it is gone forever.
  3. How old is the thread? Usually after one year of not receiving any new posts, non-stickied threads automatically get hard deleted from the server, meaning they are not recoverable.
  4. That would be great if the videos were for CS2 and not CS1. Going to update the thread soon. If you are interested in being the project head of a character, please repost so I can make a list.
  5. That kind of stuff should be covered in the strategy section. An example would be going for okizeme with one character instead of a max damage combo and the pros and cons of each. I'm sure I can get it if I practice it enough, but yes, I'll ask for help when I need it.
  6. No. That joke is dead, and I hope it stays dead forever.
  7. Wait a bit until we iron out some other details/discuss the topic a bit more. Just want to see if anyone else has any ideas as to what can go in these videos.
  8. Already have a YT channel set up for all this (among other things). Thanks though. In regards to combos, make sure you guys make a clean, compiled list of practical combos. In addition, I don't want something absurd like 20 combos for each section because frankly, that is too many combos and needlessly lengthens the videos. A good, short list compiled of optimal and practical combos is probably best. Perhaps around 5 for each section, 10 at the most. If you guys can agree with 5 to 10 combos for each section (if applicable since the basic section will likely be short), I will add that detail to the first post.
  9. We can update them, but they will probably have to be seperate videos. Reeditting the original tutorial video with new combos/strategy seems to be a bit redundant. As much time as needed. If they are taking longer than needed, I'll try to set a deadline. Don't worry about recording your own footage; having me do it will make it more consistent for the rest of the videos.
  10. Like others have mentioned, this is a general gameplay issue and doesn't really have to do with what I'm trying to accomplish here. Knowing how to get out of blockstrings varies against every character, which falls into match ups (which won't be covered in the videos). The purpose of this project is to teach you how to play the character, not how to play the game in general. A lot of the issues you are concerned with really come with experience from playing the game. This is correct. We will not be using JP videos, but rather people will essentially create a written guide that will be translated into a video. Once the game comes out on console, I will record footage at home and turn that footage into a video tutorial guide.
  11. Greetings, fellow Dustloop nerds. With BBCS2 on the horizon, it's time to think about improving the character forums with some BBCS2 character tutorial videos. As we all know, character video tutorials can be very useful for both new and veteran players alike, and they provide a fun way of learning a character. I'm willing to record and edit every video FOR each character, but I will need content provided by the community to do this. In other words, members and, most importantly, character forum mods will need to contribute information. As for the actual content of the videos, here's some ideas for starters. More content can be added with the community/mods feel like something is left out. 1) Introduction Character breakdown of play style, strengths, and weaknesses Breakdown of normals Breakdown of special moves Changes from CS1 to CS2 2) Combos Basic combos Advanced combos Counter hit and Fatal Counter combos Character specific combos (if needed) (Keep in mind that the combo section is going to be 100% practical combos you would use in a tournament, not flashy, combo video material) 3) Strategy [*]Mixups [*]Pressure [*]Okizeme [*]Misc. tips/tricks Character match up doesn't feel required in the video because, frankly, there is just too much detail to go into for each character. You could spend hours explaining how to beat X character with Y character and it would get very tedious. The purpose of the videos is to be informative yet simple. There isn't going to be any crazy video editing or flashy graphics like it's a combo video. Text would be best of explaining sections of the video, rather than recording someone's voice because generally it's easier to do, hearing the same voice over and over again can be kind of tiresome, and in the case of different people doing voice overs, not everyone has a good voice to be recorded. I will need a project "head" for each character; someone who will essentially make the thread (probably a mod in most cases) that will later provide content for the video. Community members can contribute to said thread and the project head for that character can update the thread. Once that thread/guide is essentially complete, I will begin to record the guide and edit it. I will later create a list for each character and who is leading the project for each character, but for now I want to see how much interest the community has in making this happen. Please give me your thoughts/opinions. Updated May 2nd: Made a list of project leaders. I believe this is accurate after re-reading the thread. Plat - Urichinan Mu - FlyingVe Tager - AXIS Arakune - Skye Rachel - Polka/Soniti Jin - shtkn/Yuushiro Noel - LunaKage Haku-men - Spark Litchi - Lord Knight Makoto - OmniSScythe/HiagoX Hazama - Zidane Bang - DaiAndOh Ragna - Titanium Beast Taokaka - XDest Lambda - Severin Tsubaki - Ginseng Need: Carl Valk With CS2 right around the corner, I'd encourage people to at least start the thread and get some basic work done. I really need project heads for the above characters. I'd much rather have guides for all the characters rather than just a select few.
  12. It's more like what's the point of doing two dinner MMs. If he wants to do for $5 I'm down.
  13. I would feel bad for taking James's money, so I guess I'll have to make David pay for my dinner instead!
  14. Guess I know who is paying for dinner next tournament. :D
  15. Niggers stop entering under random names.
  16. Says more about them than me. Who did you dinner MM?
  17. Man if you guys let Dacid's Ragna put you into loser's or something, kill yourselves. Was asking about results for everything, if you guys remember.
  18. zzz results plz Already know Willy took 7th though.
  19. So long as qwerty or Chun don't do commentary I think everyone will be fine.
  20. Have fun without me, nerds.
  21. Well, Level Up and Alex Valle had a big hand in SCR, so that may be the reason why SCR was so successful. I'm not saying that TL may not have changed their ways in how they run tournaments, but the fact that Level Up is not part of Revelations doesn't help the matter.
  22. The whole situation is a mess, really. It's still unclear if TL scheduled this before or after CEO's announcement of dates (unless I missed or forgot something), but I guess that doesn't really matter at this point. The fact that TL is formerly ActiveGamers pretty much brings new light on the matter. I'm sure a lot of people in the FGC remember how god awful Triple Threat was, and the fact that Revelations is run by the same people is very concerning. Remember when Triple Threat promised cash payouts the day of the finals? Remember how that turned out? The organizers didn't actually have enough money to pay people. Why was that? Who knows since there is no facts/evidence backing up why besides rumors, but either way it does not make TL look good. I pray this event is a success and nothing stupid happens (i.e. a repeat of Triple Threat), or it's probably safe to say Tournament Legacy is going on the blacklist for tournament organizers.
  23. Ironically enough, during the year Evo was at the Rio, the fire alarm went off on our floor at like 4 AM in the morning. Wasn't very fun. Fortunately it was just a false alarm.
