  1. This sounds a little inconsiderate but, did you try just grinding it out until it works? I practiced in training mode and found that getting the Lv3 version is more about speed rather than dexterity. The Lv3 version is mostly for a mid screen combo that I can't seem to do. It's Lv3 22C>run>5D>6D>236D. I can't time the forward run and 5D properly and my opponent always tecs through it. in the meantime I do 5D>236D at the end of my mid-screen combos instead. I was missing in training mode last night and found that if you can't do the Lv3 22C pickup you can do the old 1.0 mid screen combo and replace snakebite with 6C if you want more damage in corner carryat the expense of some meter, but you're probably better offwith the extra meter from snakebite anyway.
  2. We may need to reach beyond the established fighting game community for that. Problem is, I'm not sure how. From my experience most people are intimidated by having to learn anything about a game at all. Also, on the first page you mentioned a comic book shop called "the arena" or something. Is there a way to get their by bus?
  3. So far I feel disappointed with Arena. The only character I like using is Aigis but she is reliant on Orgia mode which feels awkward to use. If I try to move in with it activated I always seem to get hit than spend the rest of its duration blocking. I also keep getting the feeling that everyone in this game is missing a button. For example, I always feel like Aigis has a poke similar to Ken's crouching mk on some button I forgot to map. I also can't figure out how to use her 5D,2D,jD,j2D or how to combo into Orgia Megido Fire. I want to like this game but it feels like I either don't understand something, like when he started KOF XIII, or I honestly don't like this game.
  4. 1) I use speech dictation software to write. Sometimes it completely miss What I said without me noticing. B)I'm in the game itself rather than me. If when the loss ratio is important why does the game show this information at all? Duck) WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO ONE CARERS ABOUT MINE CAT! Just look at him, he's like a little panda bear.
  5. that are antisocial range. If it's so unimportant, why keep track of it?
  6. Why the fuck didn't anyone tell me this three years ago?
  7. so . . . All that matters is my PSR?
  8. For me, knowing that the game is keeping track of how often I win or lose is enough to stop me from playing online, even though I can't find anyone in my area to play with. Every time I try to play online it feels like the game is trying to humiliate me with every mistake I made. After all, anyone can see players peak from a player room lobby. This creates a feeling that I'm being judged by failure rather than success or effort. This make you stress out on the rare occasions I do play online makes everything worse. And that's why I say no game should ever have stat tracking of any kind, EVER. I stress out about them even when I know it's a little while the player itself. Edit: . . . And who's idea was it to track a win to lose ratio across all player rooms? I look for prayer matches to AVOID this crap. Also, some losing itself that stresses me out but a record of how often I lose. I went to a small tournament last spring and had a great time (even though I was eliminated immediately.)
  9. This thread has been in active for nearly a month. Why is that? No one is hosting an event? Are looking for casuals? Are cyborg crabs invading Long Island? I wouldn't know, I have nothing to do since my classes are over.
  10. The television I personally use is LG's 32LH40. I haven't noticed much in the way of latency in my own experience (in game mode with as many settings turned off as possible.) If memory serves, Samsung is one of the worst offenders for latency unless you're sure about which brands have good reputations for gaming. Furthermore, plasmas tend to have worse response time. I don't recommend that you buy a display over the Internet. Many electronics stores will let you connect your own devices to TVs to test them. If they let you, use a game that you are very familiar with and is timing sensitive (parrying attacks in third strike comes to mind.) Also, don't neglect the picture quality because if you bind a 32 inch television you are going to use it for something other than gaming occasionally. Dustloop isn't the best place to ask for tech advice. Shoryuken has a board dedicated to problems like yours that has a very long thread about modern televisions and input latency.
  11. His music has been on iTunes overlooked for a few months now. Obviously this has to change. If you're signed up to iTunes stupid social networking give his music a like to promote the awesome!
  12. You can't explain it here or in a PM? Someone from their community should make tutorial video if it's that simple. I remember someone from Dream Cancel making a tutorial video about short hops and dodge rolls. The neutral game actually made sense after watching that. SNK should have put more effort into making King of fighters 13 explain itself better.
  13. King of Fighters is fun, but I'm struggling with its combo system. It's fun and want to keep playing it but the impending release of skullgirls and Guilty Gear HD threaten that. As for where I am, I'm a student at Suffolk where I'm lucky to see people play anything other than Smash Bros.
  14. oh, hi! I'm just going to post this random message to make myself known. I play Baze Blue, King of Fighters XIII and will begrudgingly play Street Fighter IV if there's nothing else. Pretty bad since I had no matchup experience. I've had no match of experience because I hate netplay.
  15. I'm succeeding at a little more often. I guess is just practice after that thanks guys. This got me thinking though, many of Hakumen's combos are reliant on a small number of links and cancels. Most of the practical ones are about finding ways to set them up. It might help the community if we write a execution guide for Hakumen. On an unrelated note with a name like M.C.Dillinger you think I would play Hazama.
