vs SHADOWREDzero These are some matches vs SHADOWREDzero, I felt like fighting him showed my best and my worst in some areas, so any further critiquing would be very helpful. 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yphHVnwSU4 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKvVvHLov3o 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCHJslXYY8k 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzLG2DbS83E 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaT3lrHWBr0 6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoE_-CXXVVg

Ah, that explains the 5K version he did to me yesterday. It's a really good combo Jourdal, it definitely got him a few extra games.

Yeah that is the one. I never really took the time to learn D DP combos, it's a really good one. o.o
-
I just want to borrow his max damage D DP combo, shit is sick. I can't really see what makes Tetsu's style personally, it just looks like you have to be a ridiculously solid player to play like him lol.

Did I double post? I didn't even realize, sorry about that.

I'd really appreciate that cadacus, thanks. I like the way the 6A heavy knockdown combos are looking, I just want to see what uses players will develop as more people start actually using it. Also, it's pretty awesome that Jin mains like SRZ and Solex both got second place in tournaments, congrats to both of you guys for being such solid players. Oh yeah, I am actually going to upload six matches that I have had against SHADOWREDzero in the past four days if anyone is interested. I would definitely appreciate the criticism I know to post them on the Critique thread though, haha.

Yep. xD I hopped on the BB train on my birthday, November 10th... I was craving a fighter this generation, and my friend introduced me to BB and how it was the spiritual successor to Guilty Gear, and I saw a guy using my favorite element and a swift katana... So I was in there lol. I was a bit late on the BB train, so I missed Stunedge back when he used to 360 netplay. That would of been a fun experience. Solex did rep real hard, I was very happy to see that. I think Shadowred was in grand finals against Lord Knight for Season's Beatings in a video I saw, but I don't know for sure. That would of been hype to see.

A few people have recently... I always thought I was just an unknown netplayer lol

Funny enough, I play Ragna and Bang as well, but I also play Lambda, Hazama, Tsubaki, Platinum, and Hakumen. :P I have put too much work into Jin to drop him at this point, plus he looks like he is going to have fun new things to try out in CSX. I love gimmicks and an answer to every situation too, allows me to be both gimmicky and solid.

Not to intrude, but if you guys want to watch a bit more I Owner L, I uploaded two matches against him not so long ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apm8azAarLo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDHi3culCoo

I love Jin v. Hakumen, but I haven't played the matchup in about a year. Tagers dittos are godlike when both Tagers are solid. [EDIT]: Jin v. Tsubaki is really fun as well. Jin v. Makoto would be my third favorite matchup because I am a masochist.

This sounds fun, lets see what stupid reason prevents me from going this time.

That 134 extra damage could make or break against someone, especially someone with low health like Taokaka and Ragna. The 2 extra heat is nice, but I would take the damage, and focus on getting heat with DP loops and grabs rather than with a midscreen combo. It's a nice idea though, but considering in Extended we are losing damage, I am going to take any bit of damage I can get.

Alright, I am going to go in order, and I will just list things I noticed while I watch the matches xkurotsuxkix (RAG) vs HIGEKING4242_-42 (JIN) Higeking is consistently using 2C, that is a bit risky, especially against someone like Ragna. It looks like he is using it as an anti-air, which is a bit risky since the move is slower. He would be better off using 5A and 2A as anti-airs in the situations he is in. He should of taken the grab combo instead of trying to cross him up into the corner. It's a neat idea, but the ice effect doesn't last that long. It would of gotten him damage, meter, and a chance to be at close range against Ragna, which is where he wants to be if he is not playing a solid far range game. He used 2C again as an anti-air when 623A would of sufficed. It seems at most times in the first match, whenever he had momentum, he lost it. The fake 2B could of led to a grab, for example, but instead he got punished. (Given the situation though, I don't blame him for feeling pressured considering the Ragna was outplaying him in close and mid range.) I'd recommend mixing up 2A 2B; 5B, 2B; 2B, 5C; or 2B, 2C type of frame traps. Use things like 2A ticks, 2B ticks, and especially Jin's 6A to throw him off guard. You always have to think about how you can change the way you pressure with Jin, especially because he doesn't have the strongest mix up options in standard blockstrings. The bait to fatal was well done, he handled the situation well there. Jin has to be at a certain range for his air dash 5B's to be effective upon landing, or lead into a cross up. He should practice IAD 5B cross ups or IAD 5B -> 5C pressure strings, because he seems to mess that up a bit in this match. I think he is using 623B too much as a safety option after 6C, he should try 236A or 623C since those both hit the opponent when they are crouching. It was working since he kept landing 6C, but he could of pulled off the execution into high damage if he wasn't using Jin's BDP in that situation. He has to react in the situation, depending on safety options won't always land the high damage combo. Higeking has potential, but he should work on stronger pressure, better reaction, and Jin's air to ground game, in summary. I'll look at the other two videos after I finish my homework.

Team St1ckbug's Japan Tour 9/17 Brooklyn, NY RESULTS
Haven replied to DaiAndOh's topic in Tournament Results
It sucks I didn't get to go, but it's nice to see my friend made third place lol. I hope I can go to the next one. -
I fight a pretty solid Taokaka named CrazyApe often, but I would need to look over the matches if I am to remember exactly what should be done... I will try and play him at my earliest convenience, and I will upload them so that other players can make deductions about the matchups too. I feel like I would forget things if I just did it myself lol... I would say it's even too imo.
-
lol poor Plat. :[ The Rachel vs. Jin matchup weirds me out, I wish Owner and Alex weren't the only active XBL players that could use her. I need practice in that matchup..
-
I really need to try and go to this tournament. I don't think I have anything planned that Saturday, I hope I can go.
-
Hey, I dropped Hazama in October last year to reclaim mid tier Jin when I got really bored of doing one combo the entire match lol. And don't you use Tager and Platinum now? Lmao.
-
Yeah, it's me, what's up man? It's fine, I prefer the 360 pad personally but I can play both if you would rather play on the PS3. Jin mirrors are very silly, I agree. xD I've seen a few videos, you definitely play a conservative Jin. I love solid play with risks, so I don't mind the punishment for things like that, but I understand why you would prefer not to do that. Taking risks with Jin really help his mix up game a lot, but you have to change up your mix ups a lot or else you just start beating a dead horse. Playing safe with Jin is fine as well, what i would say is that you should change it up depending on the situation in matches. The best time to take risks with Jin is when you have the momentum (That's obvious lol), but if you can really get into your opponent's head while making sure you keep an eye out for what he can do to punish you, it becomes very scary mix up that Jin really needs since his mix up out side of that isn't so great , and your consciousness will help you change your strategy if you feel you are starting to get out of your comfort zone. I mean, I like doing silly things like DP'ing the moment my opponent wakes up, but I wouldn't be lying if I said I mainly use it when I have 50 heat, I would rather have an option select along with testing to see if my opponent is hitting buttons.
-
Lol, I'll sometimes throw in two overheads in a row with Jin and the opponent will fall for it both times. It could work against your favor without heat, but you'd be surprised how much a low reward OH out of nowhere shakes up the opponent's defense, just don't do it too many times or the eventual grab/ DP/jab is going to come and punish you for it lol. It's also silly when an overhead to purple grab actually works, but if you don't want to risk getting punished afterwards, that's a good way to get some distance and even surprise them. (Although purple grabs aren't exactly reliable.) I realize I improve a lot when I fight really good players consistently or fight SRZ in dittos, although I barely get that chance. I also improve if I mix in a few players at a lower level, learning how to deal with players of all kinds honestly keeps your brain pumping, and allows you to think about how to handle completely different players. Never play them too much, or else bad habits start to form, but it is surprisingly helpful at times.
