I have to say it always bothers me when people say "Hazama has practica 8k and 10k combos..." He really doesn't. That's just showing his maximum damage with optimal starters for the situation. With an appropriate punish of Inferno Divider, etc... he gets 8-10k. But that's situational and extremely rare if you're playing against good players. Most of the time his damage will be around 5-7.5k off the starters professionals use. Examples would include his command throw, 3C, 2A > 5B, etc etc. In a match against good players, you'll probably break 8K one in every 5-10 matches, if that. So people should stop claiming every relaunch combo = 8K damage. It simply doesn't. Now that I'm done ranting, I'll agree that his relaunch combos are more practical than any other combos, even if you gain the heat back otherwise. Primarily because at the end of any relaunch combo, you can leave out Mizuchi, and gain the 50-75 heat back anyways.

With that note, I'm switching to SCIV and MVC3.

Good advice Shazam. I wasn't sure if you could use chain followups in superflash. Well, more appropriately, I wasn't sure if it was fast enough to get you the hell out of there. Seems like it's really difficult to escape Rachel's new DD without blocking now.

This game and its players suck now. Seems like Buppa's dying down. (Troll post.)

The link isn't incredibly easy. It's moderate offline, but online, especially with 0 connection, it's near impossible to confirm. So as much as I hate making combos easier, all we have is stupid netplay with lag.

Dusty can do it, shame he/she doesn't main Hazama anymore. Ah well. Either way, I'll help out as much as I can with organization. University may keep me busy, but I'll be around when I can. Thanks guys.

I nominate you Zeron_X25.

Except Zidane... Lol. But in all seriousness. The executive choice sounds best to me. It's still kind of democratic, haha. I admit I haven't been active on the forums for a long time. But I could be more active again. If someone else is viable for the position, that's fine too. Just wanted to get these Hazama threads back on track

I've been working on my Hazama a lot more lately. Currently at 170 PSR, but PSR is kind of a joke. I'm better at organizing the forums than anything else. I'll take anyone and everyone's advice who can play the character efficiently. I probably know the most about mixup from my own game and watching Buppa in action. I'll take the chain zoning guide that Dusty made as well. You guys can do the work for the character if you want, I'm just OCD, and want it all organized.
-
Don't mean to be arrogant or condescending, but would anyone mind if I could become a mod on the Hazama forums. Anyone else open to the position, please speak up. It's pretty clear Zidane doesn't do much around here. I'm in my senior year at the university now, so I won't have a tremendous amount of time. But I'll definitely start off by organizing the threads we have and deleting a lot of useless ones. I'll probably make a Hazama Tutorial thread, or "How to Use" thread, combining useful information like the chain zoning thread. By the way, I created the orginal Hazama combo thread for CS1. If you guys have any other questions or someone wants to help out. Just PM me or comment here. Thanks guys, hope we can get the Hazama forums rolling again.

Generally you don't want to follow 623D with a dash Houtenjin because the proration will kill the remainder of the combo. It's usually better to go for j.6D~D > 66C > etc. ending with Mizuchi and keeping your heat for Houtenjin later. If you really want to go with 236236n6B for style or something, I'd recommend a simple 66C > 3C > 632146C if you have the heat and the ability to end the match. Not much you can do since the proration is shot.

Pretty sure most people in Japan would acknowledge that Buppa and Kaqn are very good. They can wipe the floor with pretty much anyone in America and most people in Japan. Yeah, Isa's Makoto is a lot more stable than them, but she's top tier, so mehh...

6C same move prorate will make his combos slightly less damage oriented, or allow them to tech sooner. Plus I read somewhere the move just may prorate terribly now, even if used once. But now that we can 214D~B (Rising Fang) off the corner bounce. I'm curious to see whether those combos or Jabaki (236D) will be more viable. Time will tell I guess, hopefully it prorates well and we can use both in the same combo. Personally, I find it kind of amusing that the people are ASW are trying their absolute best to let Hazama use almost every move of his in a combo. They want to turn him into a flashy troll, haha. Seems like they only feel that way about the corners though, and want his damage killed mid-screen.

If it has nothing to do with it, why did you bother responding with a post with the sole purpose of saying "I don't". :/ Regardless, we're all working our way up there and improving, which is good. I did much better today, and I'm working on those frame traps.

You do lose more often, so let's not get too arrogant. Point taken about rage bursting though. I'm having difficulty breaking the habit, but I'll definitely work on it, thanks.
-
I rage burst to avoid the momentum people gain on me, since once I get in, I try to pressure them until the end of the match, and mix them up with mind games. But to be honest, it's become a bad habit that I should kick now. I don't think I mash too much on wakeup, or during combos, since I try to time my attacks correctly. I'll kick that habit in a week or two though, just have to resist the temptation to burst.

Great guide dusty. I'm a relatively experienced Hazama player and can back up a lot of what you said here. I learned quite a few new things as well. Options with j.4D I have to start using more. To CH people rushing in, and to fly towards my opponents. Thanks for the great guide and advice. I'd be interested in writing a mid-screen/corner mix up guide for Hazama one of these days. Partially because I'm interested to learn more about Hazama's pressure mid-screen. And I like Buppa's offensive pressure based style, and would readily draw inspiration for my own Hazama if possible.

TK j.214B is good for mind games and beating out people online. Overall, it's very unpredictable, so I'll give you credit for that Silius. In professional matches though. It's mostly unsafe and shouldn't be used much, if at all. I may give too much credit to Buppa, but as people have said before, he's only used it once against someone with low PSR. It's a great troll move, and good for tricks. But I'm sticking with Zeron here and saying pro Hazama's should stay away from it outside of combos. And Dacid, you come into the Hazama forums and always talk like you know everything. Don't you main Bang bro? If you use Hazama and have a fair understanding of the character, that's fine. But don't make judgments where you don't have as much experience. Not trying to be condescending bud.

Very very informative post. And valid points. Hazama's overhead stance attack can be followed up with 2A for people who try to mash. But anyone using a DP will be able to squeeze their way out. Hazama definitely does well with frame traps, and his stance just mixes people up more. People complaining or bragging about Hazama's damage and pressure game seem to forget something really simple in BlazBlue... Bursting. True, once he gets 50 heat, he's as deadly, if not more than Noel or Makoto. But you can just burst him during Houtenjin's animation. He loses the 50 heat, and has to work his way back up. Which isn't easy unless the opponent's giving him 3C CH's, etc. Most smart opponent's will look out for Hazama's big damage combos. He's a high risk, high reward character now. And doesn't have easy ways to gain heat, when people use bursting correctly.

Why is this thread so stupid?
-
Hey, Lord Knight. I was wondering what you thought of the tiers and potential for certain characters in CS2. I main Hazama, and he seems to be doing pretty well as a character, despite not winning any tournaments. From my perspective, it seems Makoto is dominating the BlazBlue scene right now. I know she's top tier, and can hit 5K combos with no meter if I'm not mistaken. Do you think CS2 is more balanced than it's CS1 counterpart, or does Makoto really have no equals when it comes to tier placement?
-
Learn his combos, practice hit confirming, and spacing. Get skilled.
-
How about j.6D#. Reminds me of j.214B#m but way better obviously.
-
Any video with Buppa playing Hazama, haha.
-
He can be played all three ways. Watch Buppa if you want advice on an aggressive playstyle. I believe he's very agressive. And my mixup with him is even deadlier than CS1. Not sure if his mixup game was somehow indirectly buffed. But he's certainly much more deadly in the corner due to CS2 and Jabaki.
