I do love rhapin fooz, but just not having to time to practice and play means I am not raping really anyone these days and that makes me a sad panda. Also, I am just not able to really focus while playing these days which makes it way harder to play and I just end up getting annoyed with how I end up playing. That is why it is probably best for to just not care and do whatever instead of trying to be serious about it. Just not going to work for me right now and all I am going to do is end up getting way to mad about it. I will still be playing just got to figure out how hard I want to play at this point.

Fixed and exactly, so much easier to not play and have to deal with shit like Haggar and instead just not play games and do something else. Like anything else. Thanks for proving my point Oso.

So, this is going down at Jet's place right? I totally did not hear that wrong last week right? Also, fuck yeah to double grav seed combos coming back. Probably to make up for the fact that 236 C had less untechable time and about fucking time I don't have to break my stick to play Lambda. Still have not had any practice this week as I have been burned out after work, but I am going to try my best to step up more. Guess I am going to get less sleep soon. EDIT: I am also stealing Relius for JOJO power mode.

Like I said the biggest thing is how many people do you have and at what level. Going back to my WoW days I was an officer and had to be an complete loud mouth asshole to everyone for mostly slacking off and not being up to my standards. The problem was is that I was expecting more than we had at the time. I was not playing with Paragon or SK Gaming (top 5 guilds in the world) I was dealing with a mix of casuals and semi hardcore people who just wanted to dick around. That did not mean that those who were like me did not have a vent channel all set up for us to talk about higher level gaming. I think we just need 5 or so dedicated people to level up our game rather well. The other thing is time. We played WoW seriously 4 days of week, as in no less than 6 to 7 hour straight and and probably about 2 to 4 hours on any day that was not a raid night. The good thing is we don't need that much time, but having 2 nights where we meet up to grind it out would be a good thing. We would have to find said players and then make goals to what we need to do that night and work towards it. Anyone could come, but we would be working on our game. Think of it like Option select streams. They do it on Monday and Thursday. Any day we are not at a meet up we find out what is going on with each of us and just play online for the match up experience and to work out certain bad habits and kinks. The problem is I don't think we all have the same system and would have to find a way to actually talk to each other to work things out and make suggestions. If we can find those two and commit to trying to level up then it could work. Talk to everyone and see what everyone goals are in the short to mid term and see what happens. None of this happens over night or even in a months. You got to go at it for months on end and do your best about being there. Once again, it is a team effort if you want to have a good scene.

I am going to be as real as I can be about this. I pretty much agree with everything you said might, but I don't know how many people really want to put in the work to get there. I can tell just from playing you on Friday I was not just losing to you because I am out of practice; you have worked pretty hard to level up your Litchi. To have a good scene is a group effort; everyone has to be moving towards the same goal of getting better overall. This takes a lot of time, people and commitment to actually do at any level of success. I would ask how far does everyone here actually want to go and how much work are you willing to put in to get there. When I quit fighting games the last time around 19 I did so to play WoW. I trained like hell in that game with all of my friends backing me up. We all read how to be better at our jobs. I studied how to get higher DPS and find hidden tech to get ahead of everyone even if I was playing a weaker class. I went with the arcane tech before most people even knew it existed. My friend was a healer and learned all of the tricks and would spend hours reworking everything down to the UI, button placement, ect to be the best. My tank friend was all about finding his sweet spots between mit and threat to the point of even getting laughed at for some of his ideas that would later be proven to be 100% right and way ahead of their time. This took a lot of work, like 30 hours a week at least. I had multiple top 5 world DPS records on my mage. We were the A team. How many people here are willing to even put in 20% of what we did to get that good in any game. A lot of people have lives and some of us just want to play for fun. I would be more up to grinding out multiple games if I knew I had a solid team willing to put in even 1 or 2 hours online a couple of nights a week plus traveling to meet ups, FNF, tournaments, ect. The problem is I don't think we have that yet. It is pretty hard to stay motivated to practice when you are only doing it once a week for a few hours. For a lot of us that is fine, for the determined it is better to go to other things where the people are there. Danni has been leveling up his LoL game because he has the team to do it. He plays Marvel online when he is on a down time, but who is practicing with him? No one is helping him level up his game, so he does not take it as seriously. I am in the same boat. I am just been playing online a night or so a week because when I get home I rather just watch TV than play random people online or grind out combos for something I do once a week for 5 or 8 hours. I just want to say this is not an attack to anyone who just wants to play for fun. This is a hobby after all and the amount of work you put in is up to you, but if we are even going to think about expanding a scene and leveling up to get people to take notice of it; it is going to take a lot more work than I think most people want to put in. I could be wrong and maybe people will come up with a plan to make it work, but for now I am cool with just chilling and playing for the lawlz of it. Jet said he was going to host on Friday and I will probably show up unless I am dead tired from work. So see everyone then.

I will grab my 360 before I head over as I have to change and grab my stick anyway.

I will probably pick her up over time as a sub, going to stick with Lambda for now and just learn how to do my shit better. Got to keep true to my style. I am terrible at playing rush-down and better at playing lame/keep away. Just got to learn how to deal with bad situations, so I am learning how to deal with my problems better. Like I am going to start researching how to deal with Carl's sandwich, Hazama being Hazama, Noel and Makoto being dumb and so forth. Seem like there are some work around if I work on my IB a lot. Like I can supposedly can just IB Nirvana's punch and if Carl goes for certain jump attacks I can IB the punch and punish his jump. If he is on the ground wait for the right time and just jump and dash off. Now if he reads that jump he can throw me, but I need to be ready with a break which should get me some space or punish his jump if I think of a way how. Now, I am not good at thinking in the middle of matches because I stress myself out. That is why I need to work on reading, blocking, spacing and learning to stay in control of my emotions more. Also, going to do the same thing with Marvel with my team and learn how to play a better game. Like dealing with keep away, better mix up, not being as predictable and actually trying to think about what my opponent wants to do instead of just trying to react to anything they throw out at me. Going to be a long haul as I don't have the time like I use to, but I am going for EVO 2012 and I don't want to be free as I am today.

Damn, that means I have to actually practice BBCS 2 some time this week. Anyways, I think it is time I really dedicate myself to working out my fundamental problems. EVO had reminded me that I need to step my game up if I am ever going to be happy with my play. Going to try something crazy on Friday that will probably fuck me up, but will be worth it. Going to just work on spacing, reading, and blocking. Maybe think about doing mix ups and what they might do in response for a change. This is going to totally work. Also, here should be everyone summary of EVO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tom4vm4rRYE EDIT: Oh yeah, totally forgot. Welcome to all of the new people, show up to meet ups and play more.

Depends on where it is hosted for me. If it is hosted at Jet's place I will probably show up when I get off of work otherwise I will probably chill at home.

Well, if you car pooled going from Dallas to Vegas would be about 1200 miles. In my car it would take about 3 to 3 and half tanks of gas so about $160 to $200 for gas. It is also a 19 hour trip and you would need multiple drivers to do it well. Add in the cost of food and you are looking at about $100 probably, tournament money is how many games you play, so say $40 dollars for fun. A room in Vegas depends on the room, but for 4 nights or so it would be probably like $500 to $650 if you wanted a room at a place like the RIO. Then add in play money which to me would be like $200 to $300. Let say 4 people came with me the total cost would be like $650 if I high balled it. Price may vary on what you actually do.

So I have decided I am going to EVO next year. Who is going to join me and get ready to blow that shit up. This is not a joke, we are getting in there.
-
Good Tournament Good Experience. Shout out to the best tournament I have ever seen. Spooky for EVO 2012!
-
Gratz to Poongko for winning AE. The tournament is still going, but we know the outcome already. Too GDLK.
-
Shout outs to Spark. His play was out of this world. Also, thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to chill and watch EVO and play.

OMG PS Home stream is 100% ass. It was so laggy it was 1 match back. Anyway, if anyone wants to watch the streams and play some games today stop by and relax. 9186 Forest Ln #219 Dallas,TX 75243 EDIT: Yeah, the Bang mirror was ass for the most part, but the Hsien match was pretty solid.

Juicebox is crazy good, but a lot of people like to have fun with him for being really eccentric when he plays. He invented the classic Juicebox Dance where he does the animations for Abel's Ultra any time he lands it and I guess he made a Juri version. Everyone loves Juicebox, hell even the Japanese tweeter posting were loving on Juicebox and seriously hating on Wolfkrone for beating Mago. Afterwards they just cried and it made my night.

Poor Justin, blown up in SF4 again. Oh well, he was focusing on Marvel. And in other news... HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!! Daigo just made Tokido look free as fuck. See everyone tomorrow.
-
Stream starts at 8am tomorrow which is why I said 10:30 thinking they might not start on time. EDIT: This top 32 is fucking insane. So many close and solid matches. The party got started after the Justin vs Mago match and has not stopped since. Hands down the best EVO top 32 ever.
-
Finally get to watch some EVO matches. Who is coming again tomorrow?
-
Don't have two comps, but I watched all 3 streams during CEO/ReveLAtion weekend and could still play games online. Internet should not be a problem. Extra laptops just means it will be way easier to watch all of the streams. Can actually full screen them.

The timing for her charges are not that bad, but when trying to do 8 or 9 in a row all at level 3 can get tiring. Also, having to do 2366+a for dashing fireball take a little bit of work. The key is being consistent about doing all of her combos from any situation. That takes time and practice and I don't know if I really want to put in all of that work in right now. Mostly because I don't get to play it that much except for online or once a week. If there is a tournament there is only 12 people. That kind of shit drops my hype and makes it harder to stay motivated to practice. Damn right, EVO is only once a year so let's do this. Who is going to confirm themselves for hyped ass EVO fun time? Be there or you are lame!
-
Not 100% sure yet. I forgot how much work you really need to put in to get good with Makoto. Having to time level 3 every time is going to take at least a month of solid training to get down and I honestly don't know if I care enough to bother. Maybe I will mess around with other characters or maybe they will rebalance my character in a patch so she is not boring as hell to play. Think my biggest hurdle right now in Blazblue is actually caring enough to put in the month of work to get good with any character and by good I mean playable. Also, I doubt I will make any Friday meet ups. I won't be getting home till 6ish at night and at that point I am just going to want to relax and sleep.
-
Yes, I am still planning on holding a meet up on Saturday. Because of EVO I am starting it at 10:30 AM till whenever the fuck it ends. It is not just an EVO streaming party, we will mostly be playing with the EVO stream up so people can watch the hyped matches while still playing. Most EVO matches don't matter, but when you got pros playing it is fun to watch. I have no clue who is going to coming yet, but hopefully a few. Now it is time to hit the lab and re-learn blazblue.

Would have to be on home as the PSN browser has not ran Justin.tv since the beginning of the year. While it would be ok to use my PS3 to run the stream it would also mean we are out one PS3.
-
Well, I just need to figure out how to set everything up. Unless someone brings a PC or laptop with a HDMI output so I can throw the stream on the big screen and use smaller TVs around it to play games while it is still easy to view the 2 or 3 streams going on at the same time. Good thing I get paid this Friday, because I know I am going to need the money to buy things. I want more people to come!!
