  5. neither of those changes would matter if heat knuckle non-extend dropped them at your feet. edit: You can tell there was a deliberate shift in Potemkin's gameplan for Xrd: he's now supposed to drive you to the wall and threaten huge damage off his wall-only combos. This is kind of a worse gameplan than +R's "touch them anywhere on screen for huge damage" but it's also more interesting so I'm glad they made the shift. The changes add up to a lot of reasons he has to work for damage now, none of which have to do with his Force Break: he can't knockdown off j.P anymore (that i know of - maybe CH j.P to j.H to ICPM?), he can't get a mixup off midscreen Heat Knuckle, he can't special cancel 2D and there's no vacuum on 2S, and he gave up his good standing overhead to gain a forward-moving 6K instead. However, he still does Real Soviet Damage in the corner, so making it easier to get the opponent into the corner would be all the buff he'd need. editedit: also removing i-no from the game would help
  6. I've done some testing on this, and I think the most useful ones are Ramlethal (with sword setups) and Ky. Ky can either do a j.S or land and do 2D, and the j.S can easily combo into knockdown on crouching it. If that's rhythm-blockable then it's still damn hard, and it gives him a safe overhead where he didn't have one before. Faust can always combo off his bdyrc jK but he doesn't need it. Chipp can do j.P into f.S into pressure or just do j.D for knockdown which is nice. Venom can actually do j.P to 2D for a knockdown and ball setup. Potemkin can do bdyrc j.D which looks funny. thanks for writing about dragon install Sol, I didn't even think to test that lol here's my .txt: i wrote yes if i could combo into knockdown off it. yes: ky jS -> s 236k za jk -> 2d po jd fa jp, jk-> fs or dash5p2d or 2h 236s ra jk -> stuff ch jd, or jp -> fs stuff? ax jk -> 2d (rensengeki) ve jp -> 2d no: sin backdash is grounded sol jk hits standing but not crouching i-no backdash moves too far backwards mi jk and jp can connect but no combo afterwards; cry me a river, millia ma nothing connects, though you can jd into a falling attack for ok spacing... el nothing connects. tk BE yrc might give a more risky high/low/throw sl backdash is grounded be backdash is grounded le nothing connects

  15. people were wondering if 5h cch bb worked in xrd, where it looks like it doesn't work on may. this is a kinda useful confirm since on some people, you can't (well, I can't) hit their crouching sprite with an IAD jS, which nets you the best combo off ch 5h i think. you can also grand viper anyone from anywhere, but that's more GB- anyway, i tested it to see which characters it works on: ab - y ax - y an - y ba - y br - n ch - n di - y ed - n fa - n* in - y ja - y jo - y ju - y kl - n** ky - y ma - n mi - n os - y po - y ro - y sl - y so - y te - y ve - y za - n** *bb doesn't connect on crouching faust at all **clean hits crouching??? yeah my training mode claims that i'm clean-hitting crouching zappa and kliff even though they're on the ground. what

I've got a handle on the Kliff matchup, I think, but I do dumb things against Potemkin all day. Oh, and I know I need to practice punishing Kliff's drill. I don't really have any tech against Potemkin
  17. In +R? It seems to be character specific. I tested just now on Slayer, Johnny, and Dizzy, and it works on them, but it doesn't work on May - too small, I guess. So if it doesn't work on May in Xrd that's not a change!
  18. what i mean is, in ac (and ac+r) 5h ch > bb didn't connect in general unless the opponent was crouching (for the extra frame or so of hitstun). though i don't remember how it worked in #reload anyway... edit: ah, i found a spot in kurushii's vid where it happens, at 18:07, and it looks like a crouching counterhit, so yeah i guess that doesn't combo anymore
  19. i'm pretty sure that's a *crouching*-counterhit-only combo in accent core anyway
