Yeah, I've been using that sequence for a while now. The Dust loop after Tyrant Rave > 2H is of course, finicky against certain characters. I've been toying around with initiating it from c.S, because that seems to be more consistent in those situations where 2H seems variant or finicky. The other thing that's great about the combo starting with 2D is the lack of damage scaling. There's 0 proration. I've been trying to find other good combos that start with normal hit 2D due to this. One possibility is YRC Gunflame, getting 2D out ahead of the Gunflame and allowing GF to combo afterwards. It leads to damaging routes, but I haven't found any viable setup for it yet. -Kimosabae -

Okay, so I'm currently trying to wrap my head around this character. Question: if I'm holding down a button looking to prepare Eddie for a particular attack, but change my mind regarding what attack I want to use, how do switch the prep without getting Zato/Eddie to attack? Is that possible?

PSN has been giving me problems on both my PS4 and PS3 since the DDOS hack. I intermittently get a "Ethernet Cable is not connected" error, when there's clearly one connected. Can't even sign in when this happens. Typically, after a few minutes, it will sign in automatically and be fine. Sometimes it won't connect at all or be sporadic. Today, it's not connecting at all. -

The difference is that the numpad notation has been the standard as far as discussions go in these communities for more than a decade. When I'm labbing a character that I don't main, I don't think of the character's moveset in terms of their official monikers but the inputs for the various attacks. It's a mnemonic that facilitates two things: it makes the moves easier to remember, which in turn, makes them easier to identify in discussions on forums. i.e., I already know what actions [4]6H and H[6] perform, but I was forced to reference the wiki for both moves, because I'm not enough of a Leo fan to remember that they're called "Graviert Wurde" and "Brynhilder Stance" respectively.

I really wish people wouldn't use the official names of moves in discussion. I don't know what the fuck "Graviert Wurde" is and having to research move names to follow discussions is annoying at best, frustrating at worst.

So if I mistime or botch the oki setup in any way, they get out? How is that different from any other oki setup in the game with any other character? Especially in consideration of variations in wakeup timings? And don't mention that it's vaguely somehow "more finicky" than other character's oki options. Did you even read my posts on Venom? Just because I disagree that his oki is complex does not mean I think the character holistically simple. -Kimosabae

Pretty much. He's intelligently designed in the sense that the character isn't completely obtuse and doesn't deviate too far from the fundamentals, but the ceiling for the character is practically limitless and that can be daunting for anyone. Definitely don't agree with this. K Ball oki is pretty brainless. It's Vortex-y and straight forward stuff.

I don't see how you could possibly have more trouble constructing a competitive I-no over a competitive Venom. Sure, Venom has some braindead 50/50s and corner pressure strings, but his neutral game requires a lot of deliberation and tidying up of the mental stack, to even get to that point. I don't think I-No's combos in Xrd are anymore difficult than Venom's either. Venom is really fucking good in this game. Only character that may control neutral better is Ram, but I don't think her ceiling is as high as Venom's, just more bluntly dominant (for now). -Kimosabae

Yes, the Dustloop Xrd wiki. Sorry if that wasn't clear. A lot of time I find myself supplementing conversations on the wiki with the forum discussions and vice versa, and I'm not the only one that does this. I think a lot of newer people that visit the wiki probably don't even know the forums exist, so I think advertising the character forums there, would be a great way for newer players to get extra help and help generate more forum users as well.

Why not have a link to the character forum relevant to each character somewhere on their wiki page? Preferably in the Overview section? A lot of fresh people are visiting that wiki and discussing the information presented there in more detail is the most logical step to take after they've gotten the brief overview of the character. Plus, it could possibly help this site generate a bit more traffic. Just a thought. *edit* Just thought that I probably could have put this in the general discussion thread. Ah well. -Kimosabae

Yes, I've thought about mentioning moves that force standing, but I couldn't correlate the implications the same way in my mind in terms of punishes. Why is it good to know? I'll be continuing to update this list over the next few days. Been busy, and it's more laborious than I thought it would be. People seem to not care but I've found some very interesting things, I think. For i.e., if you Just Guard Sol's 236K, that's a free crouching hurtbox punish, and lower-mid level Sol are always doing this in block strings. Same with Ky's Greed Sever. In the Ky v May matchup, if he FDs May's 2HS from above, he get's a free f. S > 3HS > Stuff. -
I see combos here and in in videos that have a j.D jump cancelled into stuff. How do I continue to combo off j.D without getting the hard knockdown in the air?
