Nope, only other time Lab would be called off is if school gets cancelled (which would mean lots of snow for casuals if that was the case), or for Spring Break. I dunno if I'm at the dorms during spring break though.

Regarding the A combo it's not a beginner mode feature, I remember seeing something about pressing A a bit for autocombos. My hype died a little that day.
