Final_Round Actually, almost each of those combos, except for AB2 ended ones, are mostly universal. The timing for delay parts may be different, but it is possible to not whiff on everyone of the cast. The delays should be specified in every part where j.c->9d~9 is present. It should look like j.c->..->9d~9. To think about it, it is quite important for this is the very place you might whiff the combo most often. The most tricky part. In order to connect forthcoming 3d~3->j.236b[x5] one should master this delay not to appear too high, what will whiff last hits of 236b set.

With the upcoming patch to bring forth drastic changes, I guess, it is best to wait with the matchups update?

WOW! The audience clap and howl the Taunt Loop rhythm as English football fans! ))) Awesome Makes you regret it being nerfed ) But I tell you, Satoshi is too careful here. A bunch of Bangs have done better against Tsujikawa in earlier matches with more aggressive style. I'd dare say, it is not Tsujikawa, who did great to win this match. It is Satoshi, who did too bad to lose it. PS: though those sudden Tsujikawa's ground-air combos are doubtlessly awesome.
-
Do you have a link to those matches? I found some SBO 2010 finals, but there Tao is losing to Bang, and that Tao doesn't seem to be Tsujikawa's one
-
Yeah, you guys are right all ways... I'm also always fighting myself to keep spamming drives all round long. Judging that in CT I was fighting against 5C poke spam, with BOTH gone, we'll likely get the most interesting gameplay parts of the two games :3 Let's hope for that. Riku, practice cancels, they are the highest priority!
-
I wonder, have they nerfed Tao's drive-game, or have they buffed it? Judging from this: It is easier to combo off drive hitconfirms, and it is more dangerous to drive-cancel on block (aka stupid 5D~b crossups).
-
Blog? Which one? Is it in japanese? BTW, don't you think it would be nicer to have 236B input for casual CS Tao CAT2, and to have 214B input for her old CT CAT2 at the same time? (Better logic than just j.B)
-
KM Riku Yeah, that might suck They haven't prorated taunt 'cuz "its not his fault" lol (since dmg comes from j.2D~b) But this will crap our combos up way bad, since we use j.2D to CAT2 end each full string and for ~a, ~c cancels also

Rabbit360 Bro, the answer to all of your questions is in XDest's latest tauntless combo vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI3eYKAJi1I (tauntless AB2 enders included) About your combo timing issues, unfortunately (or fortunately) Tao's combo fragments are executed neither fast, nor slow. They are just pretty strict to time, it is not the matter of speed. All you can do is to make yourself get the right feel of it in the training mode. It may take some pain and time, but trust me, it pays of. That's what Tao is.
-
XDest I mean, for example, 1-2 taunt 5B started combo will do more damage than tauntless 5B combo, so if single-double taunts will still be available for reasonable use after patching, then it would be nice. Shiro420 I assume, you haven't played/mastered CT Tao before? It is actually easier to get her CS BnBs when you did well with her in CT. If you haven't, then truly go to the training mode. Her moves are not so instinctive, to learn them "on the go". Also, focus on mission 10, and it's variations. It displays her main drive-cancel string, so if you master that one, others should be easier.
-
BigLeafyTree 1) Are you sure you need that? 2) 'catch' straight onto taunt loop + AB2 ender, that's the maximal possible dmg from the gold burst for now. 3) I'd say Tsujikawa, Kazu, Keita (in this order ) Also) Are you sure you need that?
-
I honestly like Tao's difficulty in her drive-cancel combos, and hope they won't be gone. One can say they are more difficult than the tauntloop itself, but this is exactly what makes her HERSELF. I'm happy to notice that almost no multi-character players use Tao. I'm happy to notice that almost no Tao-users use other characters. This makes her somehow special and I'm not looking forward for this status to change. Though it will seemingly not, since even in CT the situation was the same as I have described.

XDest Wow, superb job putting all of this into a video! Special thanks for implying ground-air/air-air/air-ground combos! They are very useful in a real match. PS: 1-2 taunted combos won't go anywhere anyway, so consider high-profile-starter combos potentially to cause even more damage.
-
Is Tagar really low tiered? You need to make only two mistakes against him to kick the bucket. Meaning fine Tagers of course.
-
And for descending (aka 'air-groung-air') combos we all have enjoyed in CT, right?
-
Yeah, seems we'll be forced to single-double taunt combos, like mission 10 and the like. The plus here is online friendliness increase though. Offliners do fine either way, but adjusting your TLoop online to each opponent with his own connection lag is a pain with 80% loop failure. I mean, it is true, that you can TLoop at level 2 and even level 1 connections (I myself felt a lot of fun doing so), but should you face different opponent with different lag (even with better one, no matter), you would drop the loop, since the loop's point is rhythm, and the rhythm differs due to the lag. 1-2 taunt combos must be different, since all you have to do is to push the taunt input asap or even slightly before, and only once or twice. The whole thing most likely allow CAT2 loops in the end, and probably some more spectacular stuff, so, say Tao might become more showy, more flashy and generally truer with one of the hardest combosets to perform in the game
-
Tsujikawa has matured significantly since '09 tournaments. I doubt, there is a better Tao player than him now. That's why updating the videos is important! :3
-
DopeSauce Dude, her full non-TL combos, especially with CAT2 loop application are way harder to perform, than the Tauntloop itself. Keep that in mind. Train her challenges 8 - 10, and TL at the same time. Those are, without any doubt, CS Tao's basics.
-
KM Riku I suppose it is a matter of mere execution... I'm having a problem connecting even the second set of CAT2. Also the point may be an a jump cancel. You are free to jump cancel almost at any moment of your CAT2, so try to be quicker. Don't wait and clue yourself to animation. Try to orient on your feeling, rhythm and button sound instead. At least it is true to 236C>6C>6C>HJC 7 part. Let me see... it must generally feel as if you want to outrun yourself, that is.
-
There must be room for the 6th hit of the third (last) set of Cat2, or is it different in practice?
-
Hope this hell won't be cancelled in the upcoming patch or whatever ))
-
Many Hazamas abuse their snake-self drawing technique. It can be successfully punished with 6C. A good way to make him watch for this kind of spam.
-
kataridragon Of course, since the count is small there. It is better be done 'to the last taunt' straight, and as for oki ender, I wondered above, what is to try AB2 after the full oki ender? When you CAT2 him to the wall? Barriage Super seems to connect, so AB2'ed 6C also might.
-
Tsujikawa and Keita also (if they were not mentioned in Kanji above). PS: But Kazu is still the best! The BEAST!! :3

Surprisingly, I found this video yesterday myself, but the forum was down to post it. If moderators could save this video in the first post, of smth else, it would be great, and it won't be lost again. Also! I think I got the last tricky part here (thanks to the video above). The secret of success in "6Cx2" part lies in (one may not believe it) the DELAY between first 6C and second. I figured, the opponent slipped my second 6C because it was too fast, so the original Tao's strike literally matched the clone Tao's strike, and did not connect. Speaking clearer, you want the following to happen: You input 6C first time; Orig. Tao's animation starts: you DO NOT input 6C the second time right after that, but WAIT for Clone Tao's animation of first 6C to start; you DO input second 6C when animation of Clone's first 6C started; you immediately backward high jump cancel, while both, orig. and clone animations of second 6C run. Even better solution for the tricky delay part between two 6C's is even not to delay the second input, but to CHARGE it, you see, this way it would be both delayed and comfortably timed. Gotta try it out :3
