  1. Aile There is one nice and rewarding reset, which is also pretty simple: when you end your combo in the corner with a j.2C loop: ......6A > j.2C > j.5D > 2B > 5C > 2C > ]D[ > j.2C > 2B > [opponent air techs] > 214D Nice thing about this setup is that you are using revolver action when doing 2B > 214D. As far as I know, it severely punishes any tech/no tech, forcing airborne opponent to block, breaking a primer, giving you 40 frames advantage to raise hell. С0R Got it, good luck with equipment then!
  2. C0R, bro, I'm just wondering if you are doing well with your forthcoming combo/setup/etc vid, or is it on hiatus for the time being?
  3. Thanks for a thorough reasoning, Neo! offtop: I wish there was a decent strategy like this against Bang's pressure.
  4. Zeron_X25 Now I get it, thanks a lot. Should get more practice against him anyways.
  5. Wait... his elbow overhead is no problem? I mean, everyone does hot engine right off it, isn't that right? Wow... There are a lot of Hazama's spamming that Rasenga loop on block constantly. Gotta teach them a lesson some time
  6. He is one you don't want to block for too long though, since all those highs and lows with 'invisible' startup animation. Same hot engines into same 5-6 kays :3
  7. NeoGio0o I'm afraid, that even 12 framed 6A, even when perfectly timed off IB, can defeat or trade with Hazama's 214D~ overhead only due to 6A's head invulnerability. Doubt 10 framed 5C will do the task. Thing is, I guess, other cast's, more powerful AA's can beat Hazama's 214D~ overhead better - like Makoto's or Mu's ones. On the other hand, Tao's 6A has a convenient 2-hit specific, but it's invulnerability is limited. You mean 2B can beat it? Haven't tried that one, but it is hard to believe.
  8. Nice ones, Messiah! Especially midscreen one. btw, has anyone tried to come up with a corner combo, started off the following: CH 2C > 6[D] > SoD > 5C > ]D[ > etc? It is really possible to get the fat laser in, just like in C0R's flagship fatal combo. If corner CH 2C could lead to some 7k it would come very handy.
  9. Tao's 6a actually doesn't beat Hazama's 214D~ overhead on reaction. It can beat it, but it must be timed close to 'just frame', so better beat it with 5a instead, just to be on a safe side. You can follow up your successful 5a with 6a as a setup anyway.
  10. Awesome, C0R! Also, looking forward for your vid!
  11. He was talking a lot about China, guess it has something to do with Extend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxPNHFLaY00 Here we can probably hear NEW background music for main menu. Does that mean the other menus' bgm tracks are going to be changed as well?
  12. I see... yet the most damaging route must be with 6b, right?
  13. Guys, I just realized something I didn't know. If you start a combo with SoD or BnB ended with SoD (e.g.: 2b>5c>2c>SoD), and SoD makes the opponent wallbounce, and follow up with 6a>j.2c>j.5d>2b - this 2b does not connect, the opponent techs before the 2b hits. At the same time, if you do 6a>6b>6a>j.2c>j.5d>2b - this 2b does connect! What is the trick? Does 6b add extra stun values to the rest of the hits?
  14. If it is about Tao, she is luckily not low at all. Try playing Mu, when most matchups are in opponent's favor. You'll see how strong Tao is ) I guess, her main problem is the lack of combo creativity. Since she is counter/rushing character, your only fun, playing her, is her combos and movement. And it has always been very rich and variable. So at CS2 people are a little bored I guess. But the damage is still solid mid tier'ed! Midscreen one is even above!
  15. Domethieus Well, XDest said much. To summarize what you really need to improve, you need a full guide, since, honestly speaking, in these matches you showed nothing what can be referred to as "Tao's play style". Needless to say, you need to improve everything, from movement, to execution. And it obviously should take time and effort. To make it clear, remember these main points: Tao is a low-on-health rusher. She lives for one purpose: to confirm a damaging combo. Otherwise she dies. There are absolutely no other means to win, but to use your speed and diversity to get a nice combo starter in. - this means, a) you need to use your drive variations and other moves, like 6A anti air and 6C spacing to counter the opponent's moves and confirm a combo off the counter hit, or b) you need to use your drive cancel mix ups and cross ups, cat jump cross ups etc. to confirm your combo off a blockstring. These two are the only Tao's strategies to win. The point is, once you scored a hit (any) you absolutely must make the maximum possible damage off it. So you must practice combos off any possible starter in training mode. Also, since she's low on health, has no oki's, almost no resets etc, Tao can't afford dropping combos, neither can she do low damage variations, so don't drop 9d dash loop. It is better to make fewer reps, but always a solid ender. I'll repeat myself, Tao is forced to treat her every combo as the last in a lifetime. Logic is simple: 1) you can't waste punish opportunities; 2) you can't fail hit confirming each high-profile starter; 3) you can't drop any combo. This is main. You shouldn't think about anything else right now. Try get your practice concentrating on these main points. Train hitconfirming, combos and her mixup game.
  16. But she was more popular at CS1 times. All that hype around tricky tauntloop and her glorious midscreen damage. Even in CT people were kinda exited around her 1-2 taunt combos. Well, maybe it is just me seeing things like this, but still.
  17. Is it from the last loketest? Are any more to come? I don't like those red lines... ((
  18. pochp, awesome idea with the video + explanation! I think it is very useful for those, who are just learning Mu, like myself, and for skilled players as well. I'd love to see and hear more such videos to learn from that. Also very interested about Mu's setups, cross-up's, oki variations and etc. Only thing is audio issues. I guess it is smth in the settings. It is best to set the speech to high frequencies, so it gets clearer. It was kinda booming now, so some parts were hard to get. I missed, do you recommend j.c usage or disapprove it? Or did you mean j.b? SolarMisae Try j.2d instead of just j.d. It works in Noel's case without super jumps.
  19. People have posted some videos to the video thread for critique and improvement purposes, so the idea of having two separate threads is nice. Yet if you have a video to get analyzed at the moment, you can post it in the video thread. I personally would love to discuss someone's play. CS2 Tao isn't that popular as CS1 Tao was, so not much hype on her forums these times.
  20. Even most Japanese Mu's do 2c CH > jump cancel > air dash > j.5c > j.2c etc. When you 5c him when he is falling, you are likely to be too early, thus forthcoming 6c whiffs. But if you are too late, you whiff 5c itself, so opponent reaches the ground and techs. Moreover, there are character specific conditions, e.g.: Jin is harder to hit properly than Ragna etc. Dunno... give me a vid of you doing 5c follow up in a real match?
  21. I mean it is really challenging to get your 5c on the falling opponent the right way, since you must let him fall till the minimum height possible. Very high possibility to whiff the 5c and drop the combo.
  22. 5.9 off 2c ch midscreen - 2c > 5c > = extremely hard to confirm... there is also a way via 2c > 4d >214d (hit) etc. But it seems, the MOST damaging way is STILL the 5c, right? 5c > 2c > j.2c?
  23. Awesome material to study and train. I see many situational stuff here, but I guess it must mostly be universal. C0R, BTW, his fatals are gold burst powered, so your way is probably still the most convenient burstless universal combo. PS: As I also concluded from some tests, corner link ...3C>632146D is only possible when the last gunner has been set behind the opponent. Jin (and maybe few more) is just exceptional.
  24. Guys, I need an advice! Recently the JLF joystick of my MadCatz TE stick ceased to function. I checked the inner cable, it was plugged. So I faced the fact, that I need to buy a new joystick. But is it possible to change electronic part of it only? I mean, the balltop, the mount plate, the restrictor, duster etc. of my joystick are alright, so shouldn't I change only the electronic part of the joystick instead of buying the full set thing? Is it possible at all? And what is the best shop for that? Anyway, please give me some advice, on what is the best thing to do in such a situation ) Thanks a lot!
