If I were to sig something this would be it. People give combos too much importance, at the end of the day they're just the means to an end, to knockdown or to give damage, sometimes both. Not like I don't like doing flashy stuff but getting all grumpy over it is kinda silly. -

If you play a character just because you want to break your wrists several times during a BnB then you're playing the game wrong, any game. Yeah it's cool to see I-no combos or E. Ryu loops or whatever, but at the end of the day, combos at high level play aren't everything, it's just something you are required to do, otherwise you get blown out. I appreciate hit-confiming and footsies way more than being able to do that one combo that requires you to have bonitis to pull out. I-no's combos were way too ridiculous too, like, life's too short for that shit, so I welcome easier combo execution anytime unless it's braindead stuff. Too bad about I-no vets losing their combo though, I do understand your pain. -

Well, what I meant is that as I understood, you can't do HD>j.S>j.D FDC>j.S, it has to be HD>j.S>JC j.D FDC>j.S Or you can FDC during the first one? Because I've gotten the second one a couple of times, but the first one is pretty impossible for me. Also is this easier on Xrd or is it the same?

I'm not that worried, arakune isn't a simple character that can work in two weeks after a mayor release, the damage is still there, and I've seen j.c used during mixups too, arakune, like always, just became harder to use. Still too soon to judge imo, and so little footage, but that's not new.

I'm unsure of the match point requirement, but I watched ain vs the world a few hours ago and the super freezes IKs were made during match point... Somebody please confirm what I posted -

Okay so to do IK Super Freeze it's got to be this way: Match point 50 tension or more Opponent needs to be in hellfire state For hellfire to occur the character needs to have 20% or under hp (approx?), but you can combo them from over 21% hp, and if they reach 10% hp they go into hellfire status and the above rules apply? -
watching that ft5 was pretty disheartening, at least the veterans seems to know what's going on. A and B bug use so little meter now holy shit, I guess they really want them to become the lockdown tools.

Shieeettt IK combos actually viable this time around? I like that. I mean they'd be hard to do I guess, but not as strict as astrals. The freezing thing happens in any round or just the last one? Like in bb. -

Wait, you can get into hellfire in the middle of a combo? I thought that it activated after the combo ende/was dropped after a certain threshold, not during the combo. -

Not all of them are Air Unblockable, but most are. Guard impact is more like a 3s parry, the most recent game I can think of with a similar mechanic is Chaos Code's Tactical Guard (it's the same thing really, meter cost and everything). You tap two buttons and enter a counter state for 25% meter, if the opponent hits you their attack is REJECTED and they get in hitsun for a bunch of time and you can attack them, while in REJECTED state the opponent can use Blitz Shield though (really I believe that's the only thing you can do), and counter an incoming attack, also it looks silly.

I might pick up I-no in Xrd, I wanted to know how do you exactly do the j.D FDC stuff? I'm trying in +R and I can't do it to save my life. I can cancel jumping j.D into FDC for a P4A like hop, but I can never do hover dash>j.S>j.D FDC>j.S (I assume that's how it is), how do I do it? Is there some trick or am I just bad?

It seems like 6a has Less recovery now? Is jump faster again?
