  8. That is a Day 1 tier list though, which don't mean all that much. The first couple tier lists put Tsu in S and Valk in C, and later ended up putting Valk in A and Tsu in B. Things can change as we find out more stuff. Now wondering whether it's optimal to do d.5B > d.5C in a juggle, or if they'll find something else better. In CS2 a lot of people didn't use d.5B, since d.5D gave more damage for just a little less meter gain. I want to know if that's changed or not.

I was going to switch to this one: 5B > 5C > 236C > 9D > w[jB > delay jA > land 5D] > 2C > 5C > jD > w[jA(AA) > j236A > j236B > j(4)C > jB > jB > 5B > jAAA > djD] > jC (jC) - (3179 Damage, 42 MG, crouching only)* My old one used j.214B > 5D after the land 5D > 2C. It would use up almost the entire meter. This one doesn't use the extra wolf cancel, so it should be better in the regard.
  11. Have to leave now, so I won't post them on the stream and hope you notice: When punishing with 2A, go with 2A > 2C rather than 2A > 5B. You get a rather nice 3K combo and guaranteed corner carry from it. If you've got a read on them jumping out of wolf pressure/mix up, mix in an aerial command grab from time to time, at least to remind them that you can. It leads into 3.3k if you guessed right. Sorry if you already do these. Didn't have time to watch much, so I might've just seen the part where you weren't doing those.

  13. morning musume (Bang) VS shou (Valkenhayn) New combo idea: CH 6A > 5C > j.D~AA > j.236A > 2C > land 5D > 2C > 6C to reverse your position in the corner. Never tried it before; might be worth a shot. Dropped because the opponent was too high in the air for 6C, so we might have to look into that.
  14. Holy... that's long. Thanks a bunch, Leo, that's a lot of info. Looks like I'm going to have to update my full corner carry combo, the one I've been using is wasting wolf meter.
  15. Are we using this thread for discussion too, or should we move that somewhere else? Until then: Valk really looks the same as he did in CS2. A lot of his old stuff seems to work, if there was a drop in his damage, I'm not noticing it, and the new 236A looks like it gives sweet oki and corner carry midscreen. Don't think I'll be all too sad to play him.
  16. Thanks for the info, Nokita. Except for what seems to be a universal damage nerf for his combos and the loss of Eisen being a free ticket in, it's actually sounds like CSX Valk is at least as strong as he is in CS2. I'd say keep the matchup threads for CS2 where they are, and just make the CSX ones once we actually get wide-spread access to CSX. While not all of the threads have enough relevant info in them (way too many with just 1-2 posts and no info), they're still more relevant for most people than CSX. Besides, we can't even test stuff out for CSX, just "It looks like [insert speculation here]." from what we've gleaned from videos.
  17. Good stuff, Nokita. I definitely should give those a try some time. And Valk buffs? I'll admit I'm surprised by that, especially the buffs to Jager and [w]5B.
  18. Yeah, for a game that's supposed to hit in Spring, they have amazingly little info released about it. Kinda makes me worried. :/ They do have a podcast video that showcases Hyde, Waldstein, Orie, and Carmine, but feel free to not count it. The webcam quality was pretty bad and amazingly laggy, and the YouTube recording of it probably didn't help anything.

  20. It was mentioned that they want to put a VN-esque system in for the story. I have to wonder if they'll put it in the arcade port or wait until PC/console.
  21. It also beats her Parry, since she can't Parry lows. Omni has been saying for a while that one of the big ways to annoy a Makoto is to spam lows, preferably ones that low profile you, since they beat her reversals.
  22. There are 5 character slots left on the picture and 7 characters worth of concept art sketches left (that we know of). Boss characters ala CT Hakumen and Nu, possibly? Also: Chibi Linne for mascot tier?
  23. 22A at the beginning of the match seems to get beaten by jump backwards > airdash forward > j.C. You can't follow up after the j.C, but you'll at least get to apply pressure and get momentum from the start of the match.
  24. Makoto's annoying since her strong offense/oki + Valk's weak defense means that getting put on the defensive is even more annoying than in most matches. I still haven't come to a conclusion on how hard I think the match up is though; both due to the fact that I rarely fight good Maks (Damn you netplay! ), and because Valk wins in neutral and has a strong offense himself. I've always found Mu to be the hardest myself. Lasers, a passable DP, and her strong AA game screw over wolf, and she has a strong enough offense to capitalize on Valk's weak defense once she gets in. Litchi (staff is annoying) and Hazama (chains and Jayoku are also annoying) are tied for second in my book.
