The New England Thread: Bears Warbling Outside My Igloo: A Polarizing Dilemma
The Katz replied to Zoob's topic in East Coast
\o/ That game is art. That game was so much fun. Damn shame my files got corrupted recently. Shoutouts for Why for hosting casuals and playing games with me. Shoutouts to Tales for FUCK YOU. Shoutouts to Cheese for driving me, and FUCK YOU TOO. Shoutouts to Wan Wan. Shoutouts to Will for showing up and being cool. Shoutouts to Lazy and his wonderful JoJo's play. -
Double post to state that I'm no longer going to Youmacon because of the person I was going to room with canceling because a lacking of responsibility on their part.

Who the fuck added that shit at the start of the thread? I spent like 4 minutes looking for "Bears". Oh and I mean it for real this time: I might be moving within a few months when my dental stuff is finished in Boston. Too early for goodbyes, but it's a lot closer than I'd like. Edit: "Might" is if the person who's rooming with me can't find work here. -
I might be sharing drinks with some of you for my birthday. I'll let that be the only hint.

This was in DI mid-animation on the ground. The voice clip came out and the other player acknowledged what they saw. It might work, seeing how you can airthrow someone while they are on the ground.

Del we should GG it up sometime. +R has been spoiling me, though.

It depends on what kind of person you are. If you're a machine you'll be able to follow Dusk's advice pretty well Just kidding sort-of. Very few people remember what it's like to be new, or just bad. They might remember that they were bad but I don't believe many of them remember what it was actually like. How it felt, I mean. I remember being REALLY bad. The first 'wake up' I had was running into a Ragna's 6A xN with instant-air-dashes and random jump-in attempts. Ahhh, dumb times. It bothered me enough to spark an interest in bettering myself at the game. The mistake was pretty simple to 'fix', but in itself opened up another layer of problems to deal with. After getting past one obstacle I'd have to leap over another and another... We all have these hurdles but not everyone can jump over theirs (or in some cases want to regardless of having the ability to). Everyone plays for different reasons so dealing with losing is always the hard part. Enjoying the journey (the learning and improving part) tends to be valued higher than winning, but I think that it's good to just enjoy yourself either way. I tend to enjoy both because of this. My words of advice on this, however, are that you should care more about why you won instead of winning in general. Another problem I've noticed is that other people can place certain issues into your hands that you aren't good enough to deal with yet. This creates yet another problem where you have to be able to recognize if the reason why you are losing is in your control or not. Most lower-leveled players have trouble noticing this and it just ends up making them feel worse. How I coped with losing so much I just took some time to relax, drink some tea, and watch combo videos that were silly. tried to use those feelings to improve. It didn't work very well for me, so I just went into training mode and goofed off a lot. Eventually I reached the point where how I was doing in matches was bothering me. Since it actually bothered me instead of making me kind of sad I had more motivation to fix my bad habits and work on improving. To answer how I'm coping with losing to better players today? Well... I have a confidence that I've developed over time that helps somewhat, but I still get really depressed when I lose to the tough kids like A3Religion, Mynus, Bags, Blitz, etc. (Guilty Gear players) but I manage to shake it off later and try to smooth out the rough spots in how I play. It's a very slow process for me, but I manage to make progress. I'm not sure what else to say other than everyone has their learning speeds so maybe you will be better off than I am. I hoped this helped a little bit.

It's okay so is Del.

Are the frames for HSVV correct? I just threw Sol out of it on the ground.

I've done that for too long to be able to actually enjoy it. That's one of the reasons why I play GG Fixed.

Heart Is There https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5sWgs9oqeQ I felt like moving this from the general video thread for +R.

Yeah, to my knowledge almost everyone can without much effort. You mentioned that you can dash away if it's installed, which is a better alternative than j.S'ing down. I find it that more people wait for me to FRC and try to do a falling attack instead of wait for the ground punish. Also I could have sworn that I've done it before, but I don't know if you can do it on frame 1. Yeah, I called dibs on him first. Maybe next time.

Throw stuff in the corner. All of them give hard knockdown. 5HS > Tyrant Rave lvl3 > 236P lvl2 > 236S~D lvl2 or Tyrant Rave lvl2 > 214D/214[D] (50%-to-100% tension, 73%?-to-100% gauge, 148-to-155 Damage 5HS > Tyrant Rave lvl3 > Tyrant Rave lvl2 > (236S~D lvl2) (100% tension, 73%? gauge, 165 Damage) [Justice Only] 66~2S 5HS > Tyrant Rave lvl1 > 66~2S 5HS > Tyrant Rave lvl1 (0% tension, 0 gauge, 132 Damage)

It'll give me a reason to attempt to get smashed before casuals again. I don't mind waiting, I guess. Pre-casuals casuals should be fun. -
I don't mean to be rude, but I'm pretty sure you don't know how absurd it is dealing with that first-hand for an extensive period of time. I shouldn't make assumptions on this but your comment on the topic just leaves me convinced you haven't. Unless you just came into the topic (which you haven't) just like I have (but I read everything) you would remember that it started as a general topic, then focused on how abuseive it could be for JU, then everyone else, and the actions we can take to prevent it. A number of people have voted we keep it in and learn how to deal with it (ahahaha) and to see if it becomes a real problem, while the other group of peeps have been posting how we should ban something, no matter how we do it. TL;DR: Nobody wants to sit under a bomb-wall because when you are put into it you don't get out. As a Justice player that has done extensive testing I have found there are maybe three characters that can begin to deal with this. Emphasis on maybe.
