How does one practice the 6A and 6D reset traps featured in the new video and critique thread? I'm assuming you set the dummy to block low plus neutral tech? Resets seem to be a huge part of ara's game this time... my ara is way too sloppy. Thanks

I didn't know you had access to CS2.... wait....you don't? People drop games way too quickly. Well, glad the scene in NY is so crummy.... I was able to just walk in, beat everyone who challenged me, and walk out.

Play the console version? Sure, if I want to play a bunch of scrubs with bad habits online.... I assumed the arcade would be the ideal location for real comp... Guess not?

Well..... I left new york. It was a blast playin randoms with people at the chinatown fair arcade. GG's to all the people I played! Had a lot of wins and close games! Only thing that bugged me was that Shit Fighter IV is way too over-hyped over there! The game is so slow and boring, I really don't know how people can stand to play it...I almost fell asleep watching a few matches in between waiting for people to play BB. I went every friday fro 3 weeks and only fought 3 different people.... is BB dying down in arcades? I'm sure the ridiculous price to play it doesn't help either.... Well, till next time! PS: I was the random arakune player if anyone happened to just walk by and not play.

What in game training setting do you guys use to practice set ups into loops and arakunes curse block strings that lead into loop (like the j5c one)? For the block strings I tried having the training dummy set to "block everything" but I didn't know that it would follow my mix up as well...... "block random" doesn't work too well either....

Hmmmmm, I dont see how useful the new gatling is.... 2A > 5A and vice versa? if the other person blocks low the whole time then whats the point? Sure you could go into 6A after for our crappy mixup game.... but didn't they make the start up on that slower? Too risky I think...

I know, I was just presenting a theoretical situation in which the new bell bug wouldn't be so much a bad thing.

Well, my hypothetical situation shows the new bell bug in a positive light and useful when combined with the new 6B as a zoning tool (especially if 6B gatlings from anything other than 5a now; 2a > 5b > 6b > bell bug or 4jb > 6b > bell bug could be some possibilities.)

So, I was thinking about the changes today and thought about some of the supposed "nerfs". For example, the bell bug being summoned farther...when you think about it, the new bell bug combined with (I'm assuming would be) our more use of the new 6b (old 5a>6b) seems like more of a good thing as they'd be locked at the edge of the screen with a bell bug directly above and in front of them....that, combined with a cloud/2D could prove to be useful as a zoning tool. Another thing however: "More chances to curse by offensive approach. Zoning isn't as effective"... i know this one is unconfirmed, but if it is true, then why on earth are they reducing arakune's offensive options and normals to complete garbage if they want us to play rushdown pre-curse? These kinds of changes make me think the developers don't actually play the game at all. Sigh... Thoughts?

Because....our jump was probably reverted back to normal speed (still just speculation) that somehow negates how they're making our horrible normals even worse, no mixup, no defense thanks to slow backdash, and less curse? This all equates to more time spent being in pre-curse. Sounds real solid.... I think it's time for a new main. Haha...I'm just joking. I stuck with Johnny in GGAC so I'll stick with Arakune as well. But seriously, it looks like Ara is going to be the new CS Rachel.

So....while I consider myself a competent Arakune player (I give myself an overall B) I have trouble with "resets". I understand in theory what they are, and when they're practical to use, but I don't know the specifics. For example, let's say I land a loop combo with a move that gets heavily prorated. Instead of continuing the combo for crappy damage and wasting my curse, I decide to drop it on purpose and go for a reset. What exactly do I do to reset it while minimizing the chances that they'll escape? I've seen some resets used online and it seems the c bug has to catch the opponent during a ground tech/roll... is this correct? Any tips? I know in the tager reset loop, there's only a 50/50 chance you're getting out of that combo, ether jumping (if he tries using tager buster) or blocking/backdashing (if he goes for atomic collider). Thanks guys

Haha....how well did that go for the Rachel players when CS first came out? Anyway, I still opine that some of these changes are completely counter intuitive to a balanced game/character. Lets just hope that we get something to compensate for the nerfs or get some of the nerfs removed.

So basically they nerf an already crappy way of mind games (the teleports), they're nerfing the loop - which is the only thing worth doing in curse considering how hard it is to get in, and they made it even harder to curse? Welcome to Rachel-tier guys! They need to give arak better normals that don't get beat out by EVERYTHING, more curse options, and a j.d that actually trades blows again. Oh, and if anything the teleport fake-outs should be buffed, not nerfed. What are they thinking?

For a combo such as [w] j.236x>5cd>j.b>j.214b>9dd>j.b>dj.b>j.214b the 5cd, I understand that's were you quickly do the wolf dash then cancel into human but as far as input goes, is it better to press them at the same time or just one after the other? The way people write it as "5cd" had me thinking both buttons have to be pressed at the same time....

I'm having issues grasping this character. Execution-wise my biggest issue is human to wolf to human combos (the most simplest of which are featured in challenge mode and I can't even do those). Another issue for me is continuing pressure from 5b > 5c > 236a, sometimes I get jabbed out before I can continue with 2a or I forget to mix it up and go into wolf. When I go for 5b > 5c > 236c, they usually just block high leading me to get punished. 5b > 5c > 236b seems to be the only ones working for me but it doesn't lead into anything as far as I'm aware. And the final things I'm having trouble with is basic combos, the ones in these matches seems easy enough to learn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akkHjv-30Tk) but what are some of Valk's BnB's or must know combos? Approaching the enemy is another issue I'm having.... j5c > 5b > 5c seems to be the way to go. Does the j5c have to be a ch for the 5b to combo? Thanks for the help guys!

Am I the only one who's not really grasping Valk? I tried completing his challenge mode just as an intro to him and holy hell was I confused....I got to about challenge 6, skipped 5 cause I couldn't do it, and anything after that to me was a mind-fuck..... And here I thought Arakune was hard execution wise.... maybe I should just stick with Ara? Anyway, any tips/pointers on Valk? PS: is anyone else getting 236B when they try and link C > 6B? It keeps happening to me and it's annoying as hell.

So wait a minute....I have to delay it a bit for it to work? O.o I keep doing jc9>6 and I'm not getting a dash at all.....which is why i do jc9>66>j4b but it always blue beats... Argh! I wish there were a tutorial video or something. This IAD stuff is seriously ten times harder for me to learn than ANY of arakune's combos...... Thanks for the help guys.
