SBO Quals (or just about any tourney with a winner that isn't Bang, Ragna, Hazama, or Litchi) has proved that any character can be a tourney winner. Just depends on how well a person plays a character and how easy you can read your opponent regardless of whether or not a character is "S-Tier/A-Tier" or not. While tier lists are a legit way of looking at who plays which character the most and actually WINS with them, it creates too much argument as far as "WHY ISN'T THIS CHARACTER S-TIER?/WHY IS THIS CHARACTER S-TIER?" This is personally the reason I don't really look at tier lists often. Some people tend to forget that tier lists are based off of how many TOURNAMENTS are won with each character. This probably means that a lot of the list is based off of the fact that everyone's jumping on the bang and hazama bandwagon and winning because they're both solid characters. This is also the reason mu is not on any tier lists. Due to all tourney's being played on arcade cabs, there is no mu to play, same goes for Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum. If the rumors are true though, then the update to the arcade cabinets should be coming by the end of this year, thus adding those four to the playable tourney accepted roster. To me, sure you want to play as a good character, but you also want to play a character you'll enjoy playing as. I play hazama because he's a damn fun character and his dialog is amazing, not because he's high on the tier list. People tend to rely too much on the tier lists as a solid way of thinking, and in the end it only causes more bickering and shameless argument.
