  1. if I come on saturday count me in for GG, I'd love to play and get myself unrusty. I'll see if I can come up with some PS2 sticks to donate to the store if I come across any on eBay or whatnot so we can get a good feel for playing GG on stick. I played AC on Wii with that fight stick from hori, but that thing is a light ass POS so it really doesn't bode well for real heavy play. Do we also have MBAA and a modded PS2, or should I bring my PS2? I don't have MBAA though but I can see if I can procure copies of HnK and Basara X for the hell of it.
  2. Because I work and go to school then find time for the woman on weekends. Though I should make it a point to come out to blackwood on Saturday if I can. Got a show the night before so I may come in not on my game. I might get in on the room deal if I can get the money to afford it. That and I still need to save up for my room for MAGfest.
  3. Don't need no room I live right across dat funky drink called the Delaware! I'd house people but I live with my parents and sister, I doubt that would work out.
  4. I want to get freed in Philly boyyyyyy. My first tourney if I end up going, planning on BB and MB maybe. Brotherly Love, Get at me. EDIT: Okay, I'm positive I'll be in for GG, BB at least, not to sure about MB since I'm more free than both of the other games combined in MB. If I feel up to it, I'm probably bringing my PS2 with some Hokuto No Ken and Basara X for the chill room if anyone's interested in some casuals in either. I'm looking forward to my first tourney experience with you guys and my first overall experience playing with DL people.
  5. The balancing they've done to Caruru has been pretty sparse compared to some other members of the cast. I wouldn't worry too much till much later when we're looking at the logs for the 2nd and 3rd loctest. (Given that they want this released in japan by THIS WINTER or so, I can't really see them doing anymore than 2 or 3 loctests. If they delay it to work on some problems the main JP community is voicing, then we could very well see a 4th loctest to go in place of that release frame) <---- Not saying that would matter with the new update system from Taito.
  6. eh you play whatever makes you feel most comfortable. My guess is that you're just starting out so when playing with either controller or stick, take the time to learn Ragna first, seeing as he's the most basic, well-rounded characters anyone can start with (I admit when CT came out, I skipped out on playing Rags because he looked exactly like Sol and Sol was my main in XX, Slash, and #Reload. I regret nothing. ) Back on topic, play around with Ragna and see how he feels. Meanwhile think about investing in a stick, either building or buying and modding. If you go the build/modding route, there's many guides on the internet about doing the best mod for your stick.
  7. Sure is clap looping in here. In all seriousness, though, I'll be happy with any or no changes, should be good regardless of what's changed. I'm still waiting to hear from people who are actually PLAYING the Loketest. For you console players, it shouldn't matter because you can just keep it at 1.01 and play with all your familiar stuff. I'll be ready more than ever to play 1.02
  8. SBO Quals (or just about any tourney with a winner that isn't Bang, Ragna, Hazama, or Litchi) has proved that any character can be a tourney winner. Just depends on how well a person plays a character and how easy you can read your opponent regardless of whether or not a character is "S-Tier/A-Tier" or not. While tier lists are a legit way of looking at who plays which character the most and actually WINS with them, it creates too much argument as far as "WHY ISN'T THIS CHARACTER S-TIER?/WHY IS THIS CHARACTER S-TIER?" This is personally the reason I don't really look at tier lists often. Some people tend to forget that tier lists are based off of how many TOURNAMENTS are won with each character. This probably means that a lot of the list is based off of the fact that everyone's jumping on the bang and hazama bandwagon and winning because they're both solid characters. This is also the reason mu is not on any tier lists. Due to all tourney's being played on arcade cabs, there is no mu to play, same goes for Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum. If the rumors are true though, then the update to the arcade cabinets should be coming by the end of this year, thus adding those four to the playable tourney accepted roster. To me, sure you want to play as a good character, but you also want to play a character you'll enjoy playing as. I play hazama because he's a damn fun character and his dialog is amazing, not because he's high on the tier list. People tend to rely too much on the tier lists as a solid way of thinking, and in the end it only causes more bickering and shameless argument.
  9. Agreed, the PSN netcode is pretty balls. If I had more time and money to travel around for offline matches I would do that more often.
  10. Awesome! yeah same here! I'll be working nearly all week but I'll see you on PSN and bother you there!

  11. I'm from the Cherry Hill Area of South Jersey! I would love to play more people from around the area and get a bigger start on making our philly scene something worth looking at! Right now all I can do is play at Burlington County College when people are playing BB instead of SSFIV, or go up to NYC and play there (no head to head cabinets makes me rather sad though) I would love to play some people online as a warm up if any of us want to get together at some point and play a few (hundred) matches!
  12. dat elevator combo. Let us play on ps3 sometime when you have the chance, I'd love to get into a little bit more of a competitive scene, and I figure I gotta start somewhere, especially after reading your article post. :)
