I don't play Soku much online anymore, but I used to dabble in it a bit. I used to visit #hisouten but don't bother anymore. Eh, I'd rather one with chanserv/nickserv, but I'll see. If EFNet is more popular I'll go there to make it. Edit: Welp, I made #ougon in EFNet. See how that works out. To be fair, I'm still leaning on switching to a channel with registration services, so I'll make one in PSIGenix as well.

They could so something basic, like increased item/install item stock, or ALWAYS SUGOI MAGIC, or they could do something awesome like Makoto and make her play a bit more like another fighting game character, like Zappa or May. There's a lot of possibilities with Platinum.

Well, 15 days away. I was thinking about making an IRC channel preemptively, for easy matchmaking/discussion when it's released. Does anyone have any suggestions on a server? I'm a fan of rizon or PSIgenix.

Not sure if j.2C is an overhead, but it would be kind of silly to not be, especially considering it seeming mostly useless otherwise. Perhaps, on crouching and counterhit, it could be followed up with a 2A? Somehow I doubt it. ┐(¯ε¯ )┌ Also, from that Jin video, jc > j.D with Pan seems like a brilliant mixup option. Really fast overhead, and a nice combo afterwards. Also: Fuck yeah. PPS: Noticed 5B is air unblockable, and this throw combo is pretty baller.

Yeah, well, consider my theory debunked, as her airgrab miss animation is right here. Also bringing some doubt into the thing looking like a quick Air Persia on the ground being Falling Melody. Saw it again, didn't look much faster. I'd personally like some confirmation on that.

asfddf okay, wait, what? Is this her airgrab miss animation? j.2C, maybe? I imagined it looking much different than that, though. j.5C, 5B, 2B, and 3C all have pretty good range. Swallow Moon is great if you're in j.5C range if away, or generally in close. If you wanna spend 50% heat, you're almost guaranteed to get in. 16T slide head, large bombs, and large missiles (mystique momo) all do the job well. Mystique Momo'd missiles would probably do the job on their own.

..but Air Persia does have a ground variation. I didn't notice that either, but I suppose it does look much faster than Air Persia used on the ground. Also, hardly as useless as others made it out to be.

Well, your 'point' changed a few times during the conversation, so yeah I might have missed the transition somewhere. I'm fine with ending the discussion, though. On the topic of Swallow Moon, aside from the normal air to ground extra overheads approach, I've seen someone IAD into it, jab, and instantly land for a unbelievably quick overhead. Looked faster than 2D > j.b with Rachel. Loving the versatility with it, and just about everything else she has. ( ´∀`)

I'm not arguing if it's physically possible to play the character without using items. That much is obvious. Hell, you can play the whole game without pressing any buttons but D, but it isn't going to get you very far. Not to mention you're sapping a good 60% of the fun out of the character if you don't use their drive. The factor that truly makes them unique in this particular fighting game. Also; Pan? Hammer? Platinum most certainly uses her drive in combos. Which, of course, wasn't my point at all. There's more to this game than combos, and more to everyone's drive than combos.

Why use Platinum if you aren't going to use her items? Why play Arakune if you aren't going to curse your opponent? Why play Noel if you don't ever use chain revolver? Why play Blazblue if you aren't going to press D? IIRC in that video, Platinum got pushed away a bit. That's why I said after 'every other 2C'.

alskfh, you know it REALLY GETS TO ME when I see a Platinum not using their items. It's like when people started playing BBCS at first with Tsubaki, and nobody charged. Gonna use a counter assault when I have a bat equipped. just afljslf what??? I'm wondering how much damage the 2C loop does. I'm also assuming it's in the corner, and/or you have to dash in after every other 2C. Edit: Large bombs are looking like they do 1207 a pop. They also hit two times.

Gotta love it when you do something else for a bit, refresh the window, and there's 3 new pages. We saw Shadow using the red/gold alt, which looked pretty much amazing. Pretty sure you have to pay for them with "Platinum dollars", which actually isn't affiliated with our Platinum at all. There's a lot I want to try with the Platinum vs Hakumen matchup. Will bats beat out his counters? What about the cat staff? Will missiles really be that easy to cut, or better, will they react to it if they aren't completely familiar with the Platinum matchup? Will Dream Sally be of any use at all? Just a bunch of stuff I could probably theorize, but I'd like much more to try myself before I call that a 'bad matchup' for her. And just where have you been young man? Out lallygagging as usual??
