  1. 9/14 Umejima Fantasy Tahichi (AZ) vs Tsubaki - Nothing to really see here. Tsubaki vs Jin - This Tsubaki could optimise some combos, for example @ 6:26 he used CH 22B > 5CC > 22D > Combo into 3k. He could've gotten 3.5k without the use of charge. Throw > OD > AH was nice at the end. Tsubaki vs Tan (BA) There isn't much to see here.
  2. Kiba vs Ixisnaugus FT10 | Part 2 The first thing I would like to say is: UNACCEPTABLE! Certain confirms were sloppy, 90% of the time Ixis escaped easily from the corner, and I'm very impatient, that's why I get hit by a lot of lasers. Dives were used to get out of sticky situations and avoid Ixis but sometimes he blocked it. There were some other things like when I used 623D full screen away but I think you can tell from stuff like this that I didn't mean to do that. Despite all this I am aware of what actions I need to take but that does not mean any advice is not welcome. Sorry guys..
  3. You better. Nice to see you around and good luck as always.

  7. I get dp'd more than anything really haha. I mainly lose to mashing when it comes to online play. Thanks Dreize. I'll modify it a little come CP.
  8. Youtube: Yukki (TS) vs Hazama Nice to see Yukki. The main thing he does is the j.236A (> delay > j.214A) in the corner to create oki with the fireball. You can see the first glimpse at 2:59. At 10:40 he uses the setup into a crush trigger (which is a nice time to use it outside of combos btw), and at 14:48 he uses it into 6A. Kin pika used this setup in his video too but without the j.214x followup. You get an idea of the kind of mixup you can implement with this setup. The j.236A fireball has 16f of blockstun so if you want to opt for the command grab you'd probably have to wait a little longer (about 0.25 seconds - corrected), you can't use it immediately otherwise it'll become a purple grab. At 6:08 he uses 5B > IAD j.214B > RC and return to the P2 side, hitting with 5C in the process. I bet if you RC'd a little later, you could remain on the same side, providing you with that kind of crossup mixup. He also uses j.214B > RC > IAD j.b > j.C mixup at 18:06 which was nice. 9/14 G-Com Sugar (AM) vs Tsubaki Tsubaki vs Ragna Jin vs Tsubaki Tsubaki vs Relius There isn't anything to see in these matches unfortunately.

  10. I am aware of this. After all, Spinoza is on the list. The notable player list serves as a guide. People ask questions such as 'who are other players I should look out for besides X (Konan for example)? This is an example of where the notable player list comes in. It does not mean that players should not and can't watch other players. For example, Tomo is decent and it wouldn't hurt to watch him. You can learn stuff from most videos that are shown here, and because of that, with your logic it looks like to me that you can add most of the Tsubaki players to the notable player list, which would be silly! That means I should add: Kin Pika, Tomo, Norisuke, Tsubakichi and Purepure! You don't seem to understand so I'll say this. The players are not on the list for the simple reason that they are not as good as the 5 notable players. There's not even a lot of footage of these players so it wouldn't make any sense to have someone down who only has one video (or very very few). I thought this sort of thing was common knowledge, but anyway, I don't see much point to continue this. I will say no more.

  13. I didn't say this. I just said I'm on the fence on whether he should be on the notable player list or not. Edit: put him back there. I wasn't measuring him based on that one match. A small scope of analysis like that really renders its validity. I just pointed out some things that you guys would want to acknowledge y'know. I have watched all of Pikuri's videos and my conclusion is this: He has nice combos and his pressure is decent. His hit confirms are also really good but he has a reliance on 3C which works for him sometimes. Ronitta was the only player iirc to properly punish him for the times he used it. Some of his DPs are questionable too but there is no doubt that he has gotten better overtime, with the Arkaune and Arc Revo matches being his best ones IMO. I have always been indecisive about where he stands. Like I said, I'm constantly on the fence, but I'm looking forward to more matches.
  14. 9/7 Miracle Dome Jirusomu (AR) vs Pikuri (TS) Pikuri has good hitconfirms and his combos are quite good. I'm glad he didn't use CT for the 6A > 22D combo because I feel it would've been a waste. His pressure isn't bad as well. The Arakune was falling for quite a few frame traps. Despite that I'm not sure why he rolled forward in the corner when he was curse. That was an extremely bad option, and I know it would be bad to neutral tech and try to block Arakune's mixup but blocking is your best friend. The 2nd burst (@ 2:06) Pikuri used while in curse mode was bad too. He had nothing to fall upon in the last round. Not sure why he used 3CC on the bug. Maybe the 3C was a misinput for 2C but in that case there wasn't a need to followup with 3CC since Arakune was behind him and in the air. Again, could've been a mistake. Also, I'm still debating whether he could've used a DP > RC against the unblockable setup the 2nd time round. He looked a little more solid here, and I honestly believe he could've won, but I'm still on the fence on putting him down as a notable player (again). Please don't tell me 'but he's 16th dan though' because rank doesn't mean that much to me.
  15. Yeah it's really good against Jin's DPs especially because they have slow startup, though I know that information was posted way long ago.

  17. It's been kinda quiet here hasn't it? Well I'll inform you guys about something though I'm not sure how useful it will be to you guys. I was going to make a video about this but I ran into 'technical difficulties'. Ah well. What I want to talk about is wolf pressure, baiting and punishing. I'm sure you all know that you can use wolf pressure to bait stuff, but I'm not sure everyone knows about the application of it. Allow me to explain. By simply using w5A > w5B > 5CD, you can actually block a lot of DPs and reversals the opponent may be mashing. For example, if you used w5A > w5B > 5CD and the Tsubaki mashes 623A, you can block the DP in time and then punish accordingly (It's kinda sketchy to punish with the optimal punish here being 2C due to varying distance and 623A having low recovery). Valk transforms back into human form on frame 7 so this simple method will work against any characters DP/reversal that has more than 7f startup. That is most characters except Ragna's ID, Hazama's jayoku & Arakune's reversal because those have 7f startup. There is a way to beat Hazama's Jayoku by modifying this method. You can do this by doing w5A > w5B > Wolf brake (5CC) > j.A, and if performed correctly, you should see the startup of the j.A during Jayoku's superflash, AND THEN you can use 4C to dodge the super and punish with 2C/6B. This method can work against Tao, but you'd want to opt for 7C because if you use 4C you'll just charge right back into the attack. You may not even be able to punish it because you may be out of range when you go past her. Arakune's will just flat out beat you without IB, and even if you manage to 4C/7C away, you will need to cancel the dash with C otherwise you'll be diving back into the attack. Lastly, no this addition will still not work against Ragna's ID. Lol. There are ways for your opponent to get around this however, and even though it could be considered slightly minor it will greatly affect the momentum of the match. The first option will be for your opponent to IB w5B. If they IB, any DP/reversal with a startup of about 10f (need to re check this) or lower will catch you dashing in. You will not be able to block in time and you can't even use the wolf brake bait. The alternative method would be for your opponent to mash 5A or something like Jin's 623A that has some kind of range. If they mash 5A they will win, but if they don't IB and you attempt to go in for more pressure you'll either trade or get a CH. On normal block they need to try to react with 5A otherwise they'll lose (reacting is more unrealistic). Also don't try this just by doing w5A > w5A for instance. w5A has less blockstun so it's easier to mash out of your stuff. You have to use w5B. I'll add this to the strategy guide. Again not sure how useful this is to you guys, but I hope it does help even in the slightest. Basically, your opponent has wider options if they IB your shit.
