Most of the more active players are in various parts of the bay, though I don't know about east bay specifically. If you're willing to drive though, I'm sure there are gatherings near enough to you. Also, NCI is typically at the SJSU campus, which shouldn't be too hard for you all things considered. Also, you may wanna ditch the haiku thing. Just sayin'.

I saw that. From what I understand, their brackets got messed up somehow and they needed to change the match. Flipping a coin seems like a valid way to decide who he fights, so I don't see a problem.

I've actually seen 08th MS Team. I really liked how they portrayed jungle warfare in that one. I liked G Gundam when it was just robots fighting. Then the actual G Gundam became a part of the situation and I was like "what." And like, what was with the random grey hexagons that made people evil? Shit made no sense. Anyway, my spring break just started, so I guess I know what I'm doing for the next week or so. EDIT: Which series is 0079? I'm not seeing it on Wikipedia. Is that the original series?

What order do the shows in the UC timeline go? Is there a list somewhere? EDIT: Shoulda thought of Wikipedia. That raises a new question though; should I watch them in direct chronological order, or is there some other order that is better?

That does indeed look hype, but how easy would it be to get into for someone not familiar with the UC mythos? Is there a particular show(s) I should watch first, or could I just jump in and pretty much get it?

Is the PSP's firmware up to date? What games did you get? Is the system recognizing the games at all, or are they just not showing up? Most games require your firmware be updated to at least a certain version, or else they wont start. The games come with the firmware they require on the disc though, so that shouldn't really be an issue. If they're not showing up at all, there is probably something wrong with the hardware itself. Is it used? Where did you order it from? On the bright side, PSP-1000s are way easier to install CFW on.

Thought I'd weigh in on the Final Fantasy discussion: -I liked 12. While some criticize the game for doing too much of the work for you, you don't have to use gambits, and the computer is stupid. -I didn't play 13, but I've seen maps of most of the dungeons in the game. LOOKS PRETTY HALLWAY IN HERE. -Fuck XI. Fuck it with a rake. -10 was alright. I didn't like the characters, but I liked the mechanics of it. Story was meh. -Didn't really play many Enix games; Dragon Warrior 3 on the Gameboy Color is about the extent of my experiences with Enix.

You should probably get Unite, or import Portable 3rd. Or wait for it to come out in the states (don't hold your breath). Oh, and the primary reason to install CFW is so you can run emulators, and so you can run games from the memory stick. Like playing games, but not paying for them? Yeah, most people do.

You might still be able to mod with Pandora. You should look into it.

Not that I know of, but I haven't been following the homebrew scene for a long time now. Last time I ran an emulator on my PSP, all they had was Genesis and SNES.

It did. In all seriousness: Jeanne d'Arc - I hear it's hard to find these days, but it's a good game. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions - A port of the PS1 game, and little else. Pick it up if you never played the original. Phantasy Star Portable 2 - Like Phantasy Star? If so, check this one out. Otherwise? Stay the fuck away prolly. Valkyria Chronicles 2 - I hear it's good. Check it out. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth - Kind of old, I realize, but you should check it out if you haven't played it. Anyway, that's all I can think of. PSP is pretty good at RPGs, and not much else.
