Roseville, CA, A-1 Comics BlazBlue Tournament Date-Dec.11th!

I'll bring both with me. Are any of the GG players coming out? I'd like to learn GG, but... yeah. Finals preclude practice time. I think there was talk of the GG folks doing training sessions of a sort for BB players wanting to learn GG a while back. Might be a good event for an upcoming NCI? -

I was going to ask if we're going to need my PS3. I also realized I have a PS2 collecting dust in the corner, if we want that for Guilty. The only problem there is that I don't own a PS2 stick, and I don't think many other people around here do either. Also, on the day of feel free to ask me if we need cables or something. My house is like 15 minutes from A1, so it's not hard to run home and grab an extra HDMI cable if we're short. -
I'm assuming you mean melty. I can see the reasoning; how many people entered melty last time? The only issue is that I don't think the melty players want to see their game removed from the proceedings. Weren't they part of the original crew that got NCI started? It'd be kind of a slap in the face to cancel their game forever just because only a dedicated few still show up each time. KoF13 looks pretty cool, I'm just not sure when it's actually going to come out on consoles. Definitely picking it up whenever it does though. AH3 I'm a little iffy about. On the one hand, the game sounds mechanically really awesome. On the other hand, all of the characters are moes. I can only tolerate so much weaboo in a game.

Nope, the store isn't set up for it. We'd have to run our cable all the way across the store into their back office, and I don't think they'd really want to put up with that. I'm pretty sure there's power by where we need to setup, but no internet access except via wireless. I don't know how much bandwidth streaming requires, but maybe we could get away with streaming over wireless? For a large stream that definitely wouldn't work, but I don't think I saw the NCI stream get above about 40 people today. In other news, fuck Emerson, fuck Thoreau, and fuck American Transcendentalism. Edit: let me know next time you're having a gathering, GameGeezer. I really would have wanted to make it over today, but it's finals week. I know a lot of people around here are college students, so I'm sure you know how it is.

Well that answers that then. Most people have TEs, so I guess that's basically going to make PS3's nonfunctional as a GG setup unless we can get two HRAPs to set aside as dedicated sticks for that setup. -

Depends what stick you're using. I know my HRAP works. I can't make any guarantees about TEs, but I imagine they work too. -
So is there going to be a stream or not?

I just thought I'd mention, my PS3 can be used as a GG setup if people want that on the side. It's not a perfect solution (there are some minor issues), but it does work. I don't personally know how to play GG at all; I'm not even that good at BB, and that's a game I've practiced. I found a copy of Accent Core+ at a Gamestop in Folsom a couple months ago, but haven't had time at all to sit down and learn it. Also, I have no monitor I bring to hook it up to. The TV I normally play on is too large to bring, and probably pretty laggy anyway. So if people want that, someone will need to bring an extra monitor. -

Yu-gi-oh starts at 5:00. The yugioh players at this store are some of the worst people I've ever had to interact with; get there early, and have at least a setup or two or something large and important looking to put on the tables. That way they're less likely to try and get you moved. Worst case scenario, grab the Warhammer terrain and pretend you're playing that. The yugioh players usually take the tables closest to the bathrooms and vending machines; I think they're supposed to use specifically numbered tables. The MTG Junkyard players start at 5:30, they're the ones who you have to worry about; they float around and take whatever tables are available, and they love to spread out and take up space. Now that I think about it, if you get there at about 5:00 you should be able to get some tables towards the front with little issue. I'll probably show up about then to help set up, and to help legitimize your monopolization of space. Also, apologies if you already knew all this; I play Junkyards pretty regularly, so I have a pretty good handle of how Saturdays go down. Just make sure you bribe Saka to pair you against me in the first round; you should at least win that match. -

What do you mean by that? I don't have a set up, and I don't know anyone who does. I could bring my PS3, but the TV it's attached to isn't portable, and probably isn't lag-free. I also don't have any of the DLC characters. Anyway, I'd be happy to help in any way I can; just let me know what you need. -
Or buy a netbook that's still better probably.

I'll be there, and I don't mind letting people using my stick when I'm not playing, but I don't have a set up I can bring. Whoa. -
Looks like you just need to practice your combos. Don't just mash j.C; tap it out five times. If you mash, that's what leads to you dropping the combo in the air.

She'd probably prefer earlier as opposed to later. I know Saturday is when they have Yu-gi-oh tournaments, and those always take up a lot of space. Make sure she knows that we're going to need a few tables to ourselves. They had a SFIV tournament a while back, so she should have a pretty decent idea of what she's up against. You should probably also ask if there's a specific time she's going to want us gone by; she always gets mad at card players for taking forever to leave the store after they close. Anyway, good luck!

I wouldn't object to paying a small venue fee if we host it at someone's house. It's a lot to ask of someone to host 50+ random people who may or may not be strangers, and NOT expect some meager form of compensation. Also Shadowbrooke doesn't sound bad. It's a little closer than SJSU for Sac people, I think. Though, we still have the issue of the fact that the 4th is the weekend before finals for a lot of people (myself included). This might be another small NCI.
