  1. Well, there was a reason people were confused about him being playable in the first place. His character didn't really fit into doing anything relevant for the plot in an uncontrived way. He needed a plot for arcade mode, of course, so the smacked one together, but there was no way he was going to do anything interesting in story mode without screwing everything up. Honestly, 'Squandered Potential' can be said of most things in retrospect. How many minor plot points or details were forgotten and never mentioned again, or unresolved? Remember how in CT everyone was supposed to have a 'role' to play, including Carl? Then there's Arakune. What was the point to that subplot? What about the whole replacement black-beat thing? The whole Hazama/Terumi thing was pointless. Honestly I could write a full page on random stuff that never went anywhere, given time. Also, ...Susano-o was silly and an anti-climatic end to Hakumen...and somehow Terumi himself. Why does Terumi possessing Susano-o cause the suit to grow three heads and a tail? And it was really that easy for him to grab it?
  2. Normally, I would but I haven't played much in the past year due to grad school. I still might swing by though.
  3. Supposedly there's another group and Northwestern that meets bi-weekly. I don't know much about it though since their facebook and site are out of date. Apparently people are using Discord chat to organize this stuff?
  4. Found it! Sheesh, I should've checked event announcement 6 months ago. Ironically, google search gave me nothing. Have you considered posting in the regional community threads so people checking there know you're here? Actually, you might want to just make a new thread there. And link to and sites or groups you have. Google needs something to return.
  5. Okay, so it seems that there IS a scene here: I went last Saturday and there were 30+ people. This is monthly. Additionally, I'm told that there's a 2nd groups that meets weekly. To be fair, Northeastern is a pain in the rear to get to and the parking is $10 an hour, so commuters may have an issue. That said, it's much better than nothing.
  6. If there's interest, post here, I'll try to start something. I know there's not much going on in the Boston Area. (I heard about something at Boston University, maybe?) If I can't reserve the function rooms at my apartment complex, I know for a fact that I can reserve rooms somewhere else off the Green Line B. Very slow though. I think I'll PM Arik, and then we can figure out what's next.
  7. You know, I just moved into an apartment complex in Allston/Brighton, and they have common rooms with couches and TVs that can be reserved for the night. I could always see if I can reserve it for a club, and if so, we can possibly have something going on. There's no subway service though; just buses and bikes. Parking may be an issue. Other than that, it looks like Taunton might be where we go. (Is there a scene there yet?)
  8. Hm, I never got why there's no scene in New England. We have Boston! Literally, we have Anime Boston and PAX ,but no airdashers?! Anyways, I've finally gotten (some) free time, so I might try to get back into fighting games again. Round 1 sounds great, but it's over an hour away. Why did Gameover have to absorbed by Super Smash Bros?
  9. And, you have to get hit in order to make use of it. If you do too well you won't even get to use it. Or alternatively, if the opponent turns the tables, you also get no use of it.
  10. Hm, looks like the wolves in I-No's stage have been replaced by soldiers, which is a little disappointing. Yet, I suppose that means that the future's been changed, huh?
  11. Right, so I'm thinking of buying a soundbar for my low-input lag LCD. Sure, I rather an CRT monitor, but I live in a very small apartment and I barely have room for a flatpanel as it is. So I got an LCD good on input lag. With that in mind, I'm thinking of getting a better sound setup; routing sound to a sound bar or something similar instead of through the TV. Of course, HDMI and Optical are encoded forms of data transmission. I'd like to invest in a soundbar, or something similar with a good analog input scheme just in case optical or HDMI is too laggy. Of course, I know nothing about audio! So, has anyone else here encounter the same situation? What did you do, what do you know? Recommendations? Hey, even CRTs need good audio too.
  12. I suppose something that might help the site is getting a web designer. Currently, the site looks horrendous and amateurish. Even in it's prime it was never that great. Maybe we can start some kind of kickstarter? Silly idea, but I do think revamping the visuals and UI of the site itself would help a fair amount in the long run, and a profession would be best if we could make that happen.
  13. I'm curious, who is Sogos and what did he do? (Relevant post since the answer may shed light on modding policies and what we should or should not do in the future.)
  14. Also, it's worth noting that the games we play on Dustloop don't have a large audience at all. We're not Marvel Vs. Capcom or Street Fighter. It might help a bit to band together with other quality niche sites, like Skullheart. We could place prominent "friend site" links or pages on the site and have each other encourage our players to check another out. Then again, with such a niche fanbase, I'm willing to bet there's already a lot of overlap: For example, I'm pretty sure anyone playing skullgirls or yatagarasu already knows about dustloop. Hm. Not sure what to do other than a multi-million dollar media blitz to promote our niche games and the website along with it. Anyone have a few mills lying around?
  15. I just found out that there's a place in NH that has a Blazblue Continuum Shift Machine. I wish I knew this sooner.
