  1. Have fun.
  2. If you're interested in a better version of PS I can probably help you out, send me a visitor message if that's the case. Though it looks like you're doing just fine with SAI. I'm excited to see how the portrait turns out.
  3. What medium are you using?
  4. Custom brush burn AHOOOY. You nailed it with darker values, but besides that I love the lines you've defined.

    Lulz, so's that thread

  6. Query: I have a habit of leaving at least 2 steins up in a round where I've conditioned my opponent into a (lead combo)>6c>xD>632146d> [?] But I always get shot right about here. Some of the follow up options are horrendously space-specific and there seems to be no magic number, due to the higher bounce from multiple steins. It's almost more damage and better spacing to end it with one stien distortion>6b>63214c (There's probably a more extensive way to do that but I haven't learned it yet). Plus the proration on those lasers is kind of harsh after the first few... I guess my question is, are there better options available for a single stein 632146d, then a 4 set version midscreen, and does that differ from a tighter, shorter-ranged 632146d?
  7. I'll go out on a weak limb and attempt to speak for the masses here. I really don't think people who are here to learn will find a (while not necessarily hostile) tough, competitive environment a negative thing. I'm not saying we should be scathing towards new members, but if they're not part of ^that red text. They don't belong here to begin with. Yes, some people eat a baseball bat, and become discouraged. But I'll be damned if discouragement ever stopped an actual fighting gamer from doing anything.
  8. If that's the real problem, then I can't see why a merit system wouldn't at the very least strangle it, if not kill it.
  9. It's not like people with badges have nothing to learn from the new guy. In fact if they have one, it's probably because they're the best at learning, thus have huge amounts of accumulated knowledge. I'm not saying only badge'd user's opinions matter, not at all, people should just know what's up and when advice is actually GOOD advice.
  10. He's tall, and surprisingly wide, it's like if you took hakumen and made him more of an upstanding rectangle. Really tall actually now that I think about it, you can actually super jump over most of his special advances and punish with j.2c grounded CH if you're not locked in a hard blockstring. Yeah, just checked. Black hunt first instance (236b), along with the startup of 236c charge (overhead) all have really low aerial hitboxes, and won't clip her body if you get airborne early enough. For the 236a 5b>5c shenanigans, there's really, really small windows, Mu's 623c is risky at best, the better valks will not eat DP. Grab mixups when you're prepared for IB is rough as well. I've never, really had too much trouble with him. Most of the Valks that beat me get airborne asap, bait a 2c > Wolf > float me > Wall > Ow. Thankfully, they tend to be rather stale, even at higher levels of play, and you can usually adapt appropriately.
  11. I'm actually going to go find Zidane's post here... So it's what, two, maybe three S-Members for every character and some framedata gods. Sounds good to me. I'm not seeing a contradiction in these opinions.
  12. = Anyway, I don't think DL would get even so much as a nosebleed over "Teh Pro" badges. Every argument for elitism is pretty much squished by. Yes. They are better than you, and they have proved it. Learn and conquer. Big Contributions = Be a player knowledgeable and powerful enough that you don't need a badge. That's when you deserve one.
  13. I've been under the impression that the whole badge discussion has really been for the... higher tier contributors, no kiddie stuff.
  14. If I have to dig through the subforums and be all "I suck, here's what I do, here's where I fail." I expect to take a verbal whipping, loaded with good advice. I could care less about how they go about it, as long as the information's golden. As long as the information is golden. That's where I think badges could lend a hand. That guy won a regional, he has an idea of what's up. THAT guy won SBR, he KNOWS what's up, moreover, he's got a fat stamp of "I Know What the Fuck I'm Doing".
  15. That's an excellent point actually. I guess the impression is that posts that do split the regulations don't have anything worthwhile in them. I know that not to be true, but I've got to say that it's not exactly untrue either.
  16. *has failcake work schedual* Dibs on playing champ in casuals.
  17. I don't disagree with you there BO, this shouldn't be a place where people need rewards motivating them to be more then half-assed members. It's just that there's some crack in the current system, or we wouldn't be having this conversation. Maybe it relies too much on user integrity or moderator control, I don't know. But whatever it is, people aren't satisfied with it, according the the shitstorm this thread was anyway.
  18. I think it's less "Post goodly for goodies" and more "Oh look, learning and smarting is respected" It's true that if a Badge system goes up, it should be rather well thought out though. Maybe we can discuss it in a new thread once the admins get a chance to look through most of the suggestions.
  19. If DL, for any reason became a gooty hodown for sparkles and shinies, you'd probably find me dead from too much facepalming.
  20. I'm pretty sure no one actually proposed a definitive rep system. I may have been misleading in my original post where I mentioned it, but I believe that was clarified later on that page. ^I'm pretty sure that discloses every "They'll do it for the shinies" Argument. If user X benefits the forums with a continued series of gameplay mechanic updates and major contributions, who cares about his motive?
  21. Worst part is, I'll go in, then spend the entire day flopping around like a dead fish on Dustloop. Le Sigh. So if I did skip work for one day, which would be the BBCS tourney? I probably wouldn't be able to participate due to my attendance issues, but I would like to drop in and watch a bit.
  22. So I got an email from my good friend, who got an email from our supervisor. *Takes out cellphone* "Hello there? 911? There's a corpse in my house." I might be able to make one day, hopefully. I'll tell them I was diagnosed for Kleptomania or something.
  23. I do agree that the quality members who deserve such rewards in the first place are exactly that; quality members who don't need rewards to contribute and be a positive effect on the community. It just seems that the community as a whole (at least according to this thread), is dissatisfied. Admittedly people with issues are more likely to bring them up, but it seems to be in common agreement that something, somewhere isn't working. Perhaps there could be a more... divided system of punishment? 3 infractions - no posting for limited duration 5 infractions - tempban 10 infractions - hard ban Your thoughts? Just bouncing ideas off you guys.
