  1. I know this is late, but I was away from the 'net/Blazblue for awhile. Thanks for the advice regarding 22x, especially the bit about removing 214x from the combo and ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY this: I'm going to try it. I too get the sense that something about the animation is throwing me off, and that I should just ignore it. I need to get more used to using 22x effectively in general. I think I got discouraged not being able to combo it right and never got used to utilizing it, which puts a huge hole in my game. I'll letcha all know how my 80's training montage goes.
  2. edit: Nevermind. The bus schedule is weird and there's a good chance we wouldn't be able to get back. We'll try on some night where there are more people and maybe more reliable bus service. or when we finally have a car...
  3. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh I just realized I should've posted that in the Tsubaki Combo Thread hurrrrrrrrr I keep hearing that, but I almost never get it. I do the 22x almost immediately after the 214 but nothing comes out. Anyway, thanks. I'm going to go read the combo thread, see if anything's helpful, and if not start whining in there: P
  4. This is a bit odd, but does anyone know if there's a video out there of the joystick execution for Tsubaki's 214x -> 22x ? I've been trying for months, hours in training mode, read the advice in the Tsubaki FAQ thread, watched the demo vid over and over and OVER again... For the life of me I can't do it. I'm otherwise starting to get fairly respectable with Tsubaki -I'm easily pulling off the 6cc-> sjc -> j.C stuff - except for this one HUGE flaw in my game. I'm at my wits' end as to what to do about it aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
  5. okay, cool! just a fair warning, I'm not that great. Still getting used to executing comfortably with a stick... ^^; But I need the practice too, so s'all good.

  6. What time? quiche and I might be able to make it tomorrow, but with his class it depends on what time it is.
  7. Yo! I saw your id and region so I decided to add you for scrims.

  8. Well it's a good thing the original poster didn't ask specifically for Japanese players, then.
  9. When I first picked her up, I too got the sense she was rushed, mostly because of her drive. It's not very creative... you just use it to make her moves sort-of-as-good as the rest of the cast's. I hope one day they change it so that the charge versions of her moves have some kind of special or interesting property besides "average damage" (plus the misc. gimmicky bullshit they do now, but I don't count that cuz a) most of that isn't very good at b) uhm, I'd like her regular moves to do average damage?). Maybe slow your opponent's moves for a brief period of time? Because they can't see? Isn't her weapon supposed to have some sort of light-stealing power? I can only pay attention to story mode for so long before my brain starts to try to kill itself... She almost seems to have MORE different types of specials than the majority of the cast, except, you know, they're bad. I wanted her to be a character where in order to keep your pressure going, you have to be able to rapidly choose which version of her moves to use, like her 214x's depending on how far away they are, or have different angles on her j.214's... The problem is, all of her moves suck in some way. Most are too slow on startup, the DP has no invulnerability, etc. If they fixed it so her specials weren't so ridiculously awful that'd be a nice improvement. Hahahaha, from what I hear about how long it took to balance GG, I might have to disagree with you on that. Although I do agree that we don't REALLY know all the changes they made to Tsubaki, because so few people actually play her. Still, ain't looking good. Ah well, at least they're fixing Rachel....
  10. Oh wow. So it looks like it's not often they make them that small, eh? Anyway, thanks for cluing me in. Hope to watch you again in a future tourny :)

  11. The fight stick I was using was this. http://blujay.com/?page=ad&adid=1803049&cat=9090800 I bought it off my friend for 5 dollars -.-. If you are planning to get this stick I would definitely get some custom parts for it. I havent been able to do that yet sadly. And thank you for watching the stream!

  12. I'm no pro, but thought I'd offer a small bit of advice. When you're learning the game and playing online, DO NOT OVER-FOCUS ON WINNING. I did this with CT and it held me back so hard. Placing too much importance on winning, in my experience, leads to panicking when you inevitably start to get owned, which leads to mashing without thinking about what you're doing, which leads to sucking and bad habits. Try to think of online mode as a learning experience, and save your replays, even when you lose, so you can figure out what you were doing and what you could do better.
  13. Hey! I just watched your GG match that's streaming right now and was impressed by your Bridget. If you've gotta sec, quick question. I've never seen/heard of a stick as small as yours before... Is there a name for something that size? Are they common, or do you have to get them custom? I have tiny hands and I find my current stick unwieldy. so I'd love to have a stick more like yours. Anyway, thanks and keep up the awesome Bridget :D

  14. Sometimes I almost wonder whether they were TRYING to make a shitty character.... Like, someone that is easy to learn/mash for new players but is not really viable in expert play. I don't know WHY the hell they'd do that, but sometimes it seems like the only explanation. I could understand making a character whose range is worse than others like her, or whose damage is worse than others like her... But why the hell would you do both? It's looking like the changes (both to her and the game as a whole) will make her slightly better, but not by much. Then again, a miracle might happen.... But I'll still stick with her. She's just too much darn fun, and you get to be extra smug when you do win with her. I'll just have to sub Lambda or Valk to keep myself from becoming suicidal......
  15. thanks everyone! i'm relieved attitude doesn't seem to be a problem - i actually really enjoy playing people who can beat my ass. the SFIV scene around here is like that, and i've made a lot of friends and gotten a lot of good advice that way. quiche (the so) was doing research on locales and he seems to think FFA might be the better choice. i'll probably want to check both out eventually. i'll keep an eye on this thread and maybe next weekend we'll try to make a trip. hahhahaa, do you mean they'll troll us irl, or within the game? either way, i think we'll be okay. you know, i could tell you a pretty cool story about trolling BB fans... but that's for another day (ominous)
