Yes, Allegretto is safer However, if they didn't make cantabile weird like it is now, Carl would be way Over powered, and I mean it. 5C is a better J cancel option for obvious reasons: longer range so it won't accidentally whiff, and you are more safe with the jc property tact onto it. Also, keep in mind that they butchered the long combo system in CP, so you really don't need cantabile anymore, since even his corner combos are shorter than what most Carl's are used to (watch the vids, you can no longer do brio>2D> Allegretto>Brio without the opponent teching). Nevertheless, Cantabile was Carl's most stable solo option since CT, so I definitely understand why a lot of people were disappointed by the change. When Ada dies, I just see a bunch of running away from the Carl vids. I'm guessing that we need to be even more conservative of meter. BUTTTT Mind you, this game is more mix-up heavy than it's predecessors, and Carl excelled in this area the longest throughout the entire series To summarize: Ada can't die Mix up options are the same( j.b with 3D) CON is needed for most Combos. Carl can no longer get decent solo combos even after a rapid cantabile It looks like writing a guide for this Carl will be somewhat easier. Plus, the combo thread won't look like a total disaster

Sir, this is the 360 thread There aren't many people on live. The most I've seen online was 4. But like somebody said, the netplay is definitely incompatible with GG's play-style

I was trying sooooo hard to avoid posting during this speculation time but those were some ridiculous buffs... I never imagined 5C being jc on block. never never never. That itself is really helpful to carl's pressure game, and that makes cross-ups into more easy. with 5C being his best solo poke, that change is very dangerous to your opponent I also never imagined a semi-rapid fire jab. 5A gatling into 5A??? that is beyond good. what i DID predict was 6C gaining fatal counter properties. took them long enough since that clearly looked like it was his most painful move, lol <_< allegretto getting less recovery??? i cant improvise on combos right now with this, but this is another great gain for him. Cant wait to play this version of him. after years of playing Carl, these changes make matches a lot easier for vet Carl players

I didn't want to post during speculation time, but I do want to say that I am surprised that Carl has become this good in this version I've heard that some players in Japan say that this is probably the best version of Carl throughout the whole series, and with all of these changes I can see why Burst baiting will be used a lot more frequently now
