Their game plan: push you to the corner Strategy: CON or corner him. Make it better and have Ignis stand behind you while you beat him to death Match up in a nutshell Yawn... You would expect this match to be "blood pump worthy" but it's too basic. You can either eat a huge corner combo or you can reset him to death. Ignis is not a threat at all, unless she knocks you mid screen to the corner. Unfortunately I don't have much to say about this match other than apply the basic CON skills/tricks How would you rate this match up? Their game plan: Keep Carl in constant hitstun to nullify ADA as much as possible Strategy: Chase them and have the, cornered or sandwiched Match up in a nut shell She will call you every name in the book while she throws lobelias (or whatever) around. you can vivace out of george, but most rachel players will ses that coming and will use 2A or the dreaded 2B to stop you. If you get caught in her corner game. vivace in a good answer to her pressure, but both players will probably know that so timing on when to use it is critical for escaping her pressure. As for pressuring her, she doesn't have any good reversals, but her CA is beautiful and I think that's her best tool to escaping CON pressure. Her 2C sucks and can also be seen from a mile away so punish while you can, and you even have time to taunt her if it was whiffed before the punish. Watch out for her low attacks and Mr. Skull. Her overhead is a joke, but can be a mess when your cornered with georger, impish, tempest in your face all at once How would you rate? Meh, if she zones then good 5-5. The match will get boring quickly which is why I can't this match up some times, since it can cause you to make some risky decisions because you want to spice the match up a bit. Jap rachels are a different story, and my matches with them resulted in a huge losing streak since they have nasty blockstrings that can keep you guessing. Remember that 2A can go into 2B and 5B can go into 2B twice. Her j.A is a quick over head but so vivace may not come out fast enough because she has enough time to land after using it, and then go for a low hitting attack. Nevertheless CON keeps her in check, just like it does to 90% of the cast anyway Videos Rachel Carl matches are very good to watch when the Rachel knows how to do more than just zone so I suggest you look up more and add just in case you want to learn new tech. Their game plan: Get a life lead and run away Strategy: Beat them at their own game OR sandwich as quickly as possible Match up summary This match up can be really easy, or really annoying. If you have played this match online or off, you probably experienced the same thing or noticed some similarities. for one, a Hazama player will troll you because they have that "king of trolls" ideology so you need to be careful (by that I mean you can't respect them too much, but you can't go full on derp because they like to troll.... more on this later) The hazama matchup as many already know is a game of cat and mouse, where Carl will be the one to chase Hazama first. Your primary goal is to get Hazama in C-O-N state as quickly as possible and dish out as much damage as you can. This is where the match can become funny, if you get a life lead (a drastic one like 90% hp vs 15%) you can switch the roles of the runner and the chaser because ADA is really good at stopping people from getting directly to Carl with tools like Brio and 8D, which will ALWAYS lead to a CH (Counter hit) state which just makes trolling for you more fun. Hazama's blockstrings/ Neutral game When Carl is alone, the Hazama player will try to combo and open you up. Hazama has 2 moves where you have to guess whether or not to block high or low. ( Ressenga or Zaneiga) These moves usually appear after a block string. but you do have some time to either vivace out of them or block and punish. remember to use vivace A the shorter one, otherwise you will zoom right past him and you allowed him to go punish free [RESSENGA ONLY!!!] Zaneiga is the low hitting move which can be punished on block with your 2B. If Zaneiga hits Carl while doing vivace, it would be best to burst because apparently Zaneiga is one, if not the best meterless move Hazama has, and with counter hit you are looking at 3.5~4k worth of damage, which would suck for you since you want to have a life lead as much as you can. Jayoku Houtenjin (his Distortion kick) can take a huge amount of health on ADA if she is it. This will also be mashed online if you get your opponent in CON state, which is not pretty. I had different experiences with this move where it will usually kill ada, but I don't get hit so I can punish, but not so well since Carl is alone. His 2A is +1 on block, and can be mashed 3 times in a row so don't rely on vivace on wakeup What to do when Hazama is in C-O-N Go for the usual high low mix up, since he really can't do much in this state besides burst and mash Super Jayoku. IF Hazama has 50 heat, you need to be extremely careful since he can turn the match around with Jayoku Houtenjin alone, especially in CH state. How would you rate this match up? Even 5-5, since you can both troll each other to death. Carl has very poor mobility after glide throw was taken out, so you need ADA's help.
