  1. I've been playing a few Tagers last night and I find it to be a fun matchup once you know their tricks. I've got a question though. Being a noob with no knowledge of matchups the first time I got GFed I panicked and was mashing a button to get some attack out and ate a 360. I noticed, however, that even though it was a command throw it was a purple counter, meaning I could've broken out of it if I hadn't mashed. So the next time, and the next, and the next and the next I broke their grabs time and time again, thus making this whole theory fighting over GF oki invalid in my point of view. Netplay is just netplay though, so let me ask you how long must a Tager delay 360 after GF for it not to be purple? Also kinda noobish general question - what is the delay between me pressing up-back and being aerial, thus immune to grabs (aside from AC of course)? The way I see it, right after GF I should block and expect having to break a purple throw on reaction, but if the Tager stays idle for the few frames it takes for his grab not to be purple I should probably jump + barrier to try and cover the options he's most likely to pick. I know the situation is more complicated than this but I'm talking low to mid-level play (keep in mind the Tagers I played time and time again failed to do anything after their GF and never modified their tactics), so indulge me please. I'd add 2C to the moves to do when magnetized, but again I'm talking netplay and they seem to love eating fatals.
  2. Ah, that explains a lot, thank you. I thought I wouldn't need to worry about the frame data until I'm halfway to being decent at the game, but it seems I've got some match-up studying to do before I can win with anyone who has an idea of what they're doing.
  3. It's a bit jarring for me how everyone omits the "2D" part when talking about fighting games. Sure, it's a site about 2D fighters, but I feel as if I should be ashamed I've spent my youth with Tekken and Virtua Fighter, or as if those games don't exist at all. Don't mind me though, just a thought. On topic: as some people have already pointed out, playing another game to get better at BB is inefficient to say the least. For the people who never played (or in my case, who hated) SSF2T it's such an enormous investment of time (and money in some cases) that it'd seem like a huge waste if it didn't magically transform me into Kaqn or Zakiyama. Instead I believe the BB scene is missing something akin to the famous David Sirlin tutorials (the Incomplete Guide to KOF comes to mind as well). Actually, as far as my dedication to learn 2D FG fundamentals goes I don't think I'll go any further than watching his tutorials and trying to apply those basic rules and tricks to my BB gameplay. I think it's the most efficient option for those of us who aren't pros and need to divide their time between work, education, family and entertainment. Of course I'm speaking for my kind, and I don't think I'll ever participate in a BB tournament unless I organize one myself at a convention. Seems like this thread started as something meant for high-level players but then got a bit derailed, so I hope I'm not off-topic much.
  4. From the BBCS2 Loketest thread. Oh well, no point in nitpicking, we'll see what's hot and what's not soon enough.
  5. Guess this thread should become more active now. PSN: Feanor_PL Country: Poland Voice Chat: Available
  6. You sure? I think I read somewhere in the general CS2 thread it has a frame advantage. If you factor in the new slower meter gain (can't remember if it's slower overall; supposed to be slower after spending the meter for sure) I don't think RC is worth it unless going for the kill.
  7. It's been said 6A is not special cancellable, but is still super cancellable, hasn't it? It might be possible to do 6A>Ice Arrow>aerial combo then. I don't know, maybe in CS2 it won't be a waste of meter.
  8. Seems I was doing the right thing wrong then (failed to do the DP input on time perhaps? likely since I've been playing with my left thumb injured ever since I got this game). Thanks for the answers.
  9. Alright, time for me to ask a noob question. How to capitalize on an IB? Are there any specific moves that work/don't work after IB? Can I IB>normal attack? Funny how the example in the OP explains it's possible to stuff "Hell's...!" and when I made the training dummy spam me with Hell's Fang even though I IBed every hit (not too hard since I was driving the dummy after all) I couldn't do anything with Jin to stop the "...Fang!!" part and got guard broken time and time again. Been wondering since then if I was trying to do something wrong or just doing the correct thing wrong. Should I be trying IB>DP C after Ragna's HF?
