  1. I'll be there, of course!
  2. 6MM= Six Man Majors
  3. I know you guys have only had the game for a few days, but at least try and be more professional when discussing tiers. S Tier? B Tier? What does this mean? They're just abstract rankings made by netplay scrubs and stream monsters with no fact/science/math behind it. I live in Japan, and I know many Japanese players and have many Japanese friends. Japan is an advanced country (in my opinion, more advanced than America); and here in Japan, we believe that if there is no concrete data backing the tiers, then they are worthless. I might get in trouble with the guys at the arcade, but here is something that we have been working on the past few weeks. As you'll notice, this chart is much more polished and professional than the ones being discussed on this site. If you crunch the numbers, you'll notice that each individual character's proportion on the chart translates DIRECTLY to their CTWP (Chance to Win Percentage) For example, if Aigis(28%) fights against Yosuke(11%), then there is a 28% chance Aigis will win the match, and an 11% chance Yosuke will win. Akihiko vs Liz: 15% chance Akihiko will win, 13% chance Liz will win. Narukami vs Mitsuru: 21% chance Narukami will win, 26% chance Mitsuru will win. Etc. Etc... Compiling the data and making the chart wasn't easy, but we tried to make it simple enough and used many bright colors to ensure the Americans would also be able to understand. Hopefully people on this site will finally realize how pointless theory fighting is and begin looking at the math that goes on behind fighting games. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
  4. http://www.twitch.tv/jiyuna/b/311117978 Streamed myself watching some P4U vids and explaining some things, here's archive. Will do it again tomorrow with these new vids.
  5. Washington TWP. Like 10 mins from Deptford Mall.
  6. I'll be there this Weds for Big Two.
  7. Alright, I'm here. Got UMVC3, Gundam, BBEX, AE2012, Wasabi Kit-Kats. I don't have a car. I'm busy on 12/24, 25, 27, 31. I live in South Jersey, exit 3 on the turnpike. Let's play gamesss.
  8. I'm coming back to USA from 12/20 until 1/6. I'm bringing PS3 version of BBCSEX. Want to drink alcohol and maybe play games.
  9. So BBCSEX was officially released today, but most of the top players (me included) have actually been playing it for a little while already. The game is a step up from CS2, but it's not that different so it was pretty easy to see what kind of direction the game will take on a competitive level. This chart is based on discussion with multiple Japanese SBO qualifiers from CS1/CS2 (Mame top8 makoto, Chou/Tsujikawa CS1 champions, Whistler/Nagakura, etc etc), so it's pretty reliable. Unlisted chars are still being discussed.
  10. Why are Americans so weak at anime games? Japan is obviously superior in every fighting game except Mahvel, but why is the gap so huge with anime games? Is it because US players are too busy posting on shitty forums and jerking off over forum awards instead of practicing? 教えて、LORDKNIGHT!
  11. Tao is better than Bang.
  12. search for Ragna vs Rachel/Valk on the flower stage. the lag that occurs during Ragna's specials is unbearable and game affecting.
  13. This one. I won a Jin one too. The NSB stream was recorded and uploaded, can be found here- http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/11648201
  14. lol pot money in japan. you scrubs serious? My Japanese tourney winnings so far: 4x Blazblue Posters 2x Blazblue Fans 1x Blazblue Novel 100x Candy Bars 0x Dollars
  15. Not video, but live stream of big BBCS2 tournament going on at my arcade. Featuring Tsujikawa, Mame, Whistler, Himajin, SUB, etc etc. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nsb
  16. 5c > 6a and 2c > 6a gatlings don't help when you can't do anything after 6a now!
  17. It's untechable time. Ragna can do non-CH 6a > 5a > 6a > aerial. He's a really bad character this time around. Fun corner combo: blahblah > 3c > 623d > wall bounce > dash under 2c > 5d(1) > DS > dash 5d(2) > 22c. blahblah > 6a > jcd > jd > berial > 5d(1) > DS > 5d(2) > 623d > wall bounce > 5d(1) > 623d > knock down blahblah > DS loop x2 > 5d(2) > Carnage Scissors did 4500~ damage.
  18. Not gameplay related, but the IC Cards cost 300 yen (compared to 500 yen sf4 cards). They are very flexible- no character/name lock on the card. Game has the same colors as in CS, but you can unlock the console colors through your card. You can also use the points to get to buy real-life merchandise, like this Hazama jumper - http://bbcs2.net/images/goods/801_2.jpg and http://bbcs2.net/images/goods/801_1.jpg Game kinda sucks, but the card system is cool. Watch out for WORLDCHAMP , soon to be #1 ranked BB player. Full list of real life merchandise for purchase now: Jubei Coffee Mug- 8000P$ Taokaka Phone Strap- 4000P$ SD Jin/Noel/Ragna Key Holder- 5500P$ Hazama Hoodie- 20000P$ For reference, unlocking an additional color is 300P$ and a name change is 400P$. My card has 2 wins on it, and 49P$. Your card can display 3 badges: 1 is a general title you buy from the shop with P$, 1 is a medal you unlock by performing stuff ingame, and 1 is a special title you get awarded as a prize for winning a tournament or leading the online rankings.
  19. I come from the future. Quit Ragna now before it's too late.
  20. Rachel has one of the worst mirrors in the game. Both players having wind gauge really messes up any semblance of control she has.
  21. "I don't understand what he's saying, so he's trolling." Never change, Dustloop.
  22. What part did you do, exactly? Completely missing the point and trying to disprove accepted Japanese ranking methods using 2nd grade math and "logic"? Yeah, I guess you did do it pretty well. Obviously, with perfect play, every mirror match will boil down to 5-5. You really think the top Japanese players don't know this? I play at an arcade with Tsujikawa/Chou(SBO winners)/Mame/Uisora/ANG/Himajin/etc. etc... These guys are playing on a completely different level from the rest of Japan (Americans aren't even playing the same game). I can't reiterate this enough, these players are literally Gods of Blazblue, and they each play at least 5 different characters. Everyday the arcade is busy; even if they aren't playing, they're sitting there watching matches and discussing the game. Tonight when I go, I'll let them know some netplayer from Illinois disproved everything they've been discussing for months. I'll try explaining again for you and anyone else who's interested in advanced character analysis- you're saying a 5-5 matchup between two different characters is the same as any mirror match in the game. Japan is saying that for a "normal" mirror match, this holds true- just play your character, and the better player will win. For a difficult mirror (which you say is the same as any other matchup), you need to play very differently and you lose a lot of your tools which make up the foundation of your character- when this happens, luck becomes a much larger factor in the matchup compared to the "normal" 5-5 mirrors. And if you've played fighting games for a while, you know that gimmicky/lucky/dice-roll characters are always ranked lower due to lack of stability. (Fuerte, Satsuki, grapplers in general). So yes, congratulations on using your logic and ability to add + divide, but that's not what the Japanese are saying about mirror matches. Characters with a bad mirror like Arakune have much less control over the match, are much more likely to get randomed out, and therefor the Japanese take that into consideration when ranking them overall. If you still don't believe me, come to Japan and watch the way the best players counter-pick each other- no one ever counter picks Mame's Ragna with Ragna, but people always lose to Hima Arakune and then counter with Arakune (and win way more than they should). Tl;dr- Yes, with perfect play all mirrors are 5-5; but with perfect play, people would block Litchi's mixup 100% of the time and Lambda would never let you near her. Stop thinking tier lists are about "logic" and "math" and just listen to players that could double perfect you with their 9th alt char. EDIT- also maybe someone should start a mirror match ranking thread to keep this thread on topic.
  23. Sorry, I see some people are still confused. My English has gotten rusty so I guess I didn't explain it well enough. Yes- in the end, with perfect play by both sides, every mirror match boils down to an even matchup. But in terms of ranking characters, the Japanese look at the difficulty of the mirror to help adjust the ranking among the individual tiers. Think about it this way, if a character has an easy mirror (what the Japanese label 5-5 in terms of character ranking) then he doesn't need to change his style- just play. In the end, you'll win if you are better. If a character (i.e Arakune) has a difficult matchup, then you'll have to play an almost entirely different character/playstyle in order to win the match. The Japanese give this kind of match a 7-3 purely in terms of character ranking. This is one of the reasons why Arakune tends to come out a little lower than he seems to deserve on tier lists- he has bad matchups against chars like Lambda, as well as a difficult mirror. If you still don't agree/understand (it took me a while to get, as well), look at it like this- a tier list basically describes how easy/difficult it is for a character to win, so why wouldn't having an easy/difficult mirror match be included in the analysis?
  24. *sigh* Mirror matches are NOT always even- again, if you read Japanese BBS you'd know. In Japan, difficulty of mirror match is based on how differently you need to play the character during the mirror, and whether you gain or lose your main tools. For example, as a Ragna player, I don't have to adjust my playstyle for the mirror (just space my 5b)- I actually get new tools to use specifically for the match (double berial variation, dp clashing gimmicks, etc). Because of these factors, it's generally accepted here that Ragna has a relatively easy mirror, which acts as a 6-4 matchup when it comes to character ranking. On the other hand, Arakune mirrors cause the player to play a completely different style plus he loses a lot of his options (where's your curse pressure when you're cursed yourself?). Last I read, the Japanese said he has the hardest mirror and ranked it at 3-7 in terms of character ranking, but I haven't checked recently. And then finally, a lot of chars like Bang/Tsubaki/Hakumen have relatively plain mirrors which get 5-5 in terms of character ranking. But again, I don't think US is ready to add in these factors when they're still putting out tier lists like this one. Maybe wait until BBCS2, then give it a try.
