Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters
T.Kang replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
I'm working for MAB Media at the moment (if you want more details, go on mabmedia.ca). I'm basically a motherfucking vendor that gets a designated sector and I go from doors to doors to sell promotions (I've got to admit that they're extremely good promotions though...) But thing is, I only get paid commission. And we don't do this in Montreal, because it would be a waste of time, people are way too scared of fraud and shit. So we go to other cities, like I'm going to Ste-Hyacinthe every day 'til the end of this week. I'm not gonna lie, lots of them guys are extremely skilled and are ballin' like serious mofos. I'm progressively getting the hang of it. So as for the pay, from what I recall, you get paid 100% of your 5 first sales on the first week ($75/gift cards) and then, after a week, you go down to $15 of commission per card. If you manage to sell 5 in 1 day three days in a row, you're promoted to trainer. So you get $20/cards and can actually recruit people to make your own team. With that, you'll get $5 off of each of their sales (you can see the 15 to 20 jump there, that's the reason.) But the 'underdog' is not completely disadvantaged, you get $2 off of your upperheads's sales. So yeah, there are regular goals to get up to and it's actually quite challenging. 3 days of 5 sales = trainer. Then, as a trainer, if you make a complete team (I don't remember how many people), you become a team leader. Becoming a team leader ups you to $23/cards from what I recall. And then, I don't really remember the requirements for the rest. Director is $25 and Vice President is $27. But the thing with upper heads is that they gain money through their team also. It's half shit, half awesome I guess. You can ball like crazy or get fucked over like hell. But to get paid, you gotta work at least 10 days (5 days training + 5 days serious business). It's too unstable for me, so I really don't want to gamble with all this. Unless I get real good in a week, I'm quitting. As for people, they're motherfucking awesome. The only one that sucks is my trainer. Guy's really nice but he's annoying and quite retarded to be frank. He's the only one that has problems with anybody in the team. As for the team, they're like family (no lie). People chill in the office and all that shit before and after going out, vending. The benefits? It GREATLY improves your socials skills and if you get up to setting up a team and shit, you're going to learn how to do business and manage a team/employees EXTREMELY well. They're great people, no lie. I'm hesitant on this because it's more like a free school of business more than an actual job, not sure if you follow. But yeah, anyway, it's extremely time consuming. You get to the office at 12:00 PM, chill with people, do a sort of dynamic meeting where everybody screams and shit, then normally get to your destination by 2 PM and start vending 'til 4 PM. 4 to 5 PM is your break. Afterward you go on until 8:30 PM, now newly turned 9 PM since the sun stays out really long. Anyway, tl;;dr - It's more like a school of business and a family. It's cool but not stable nor does it have any sort of security. It requires skills and takes lots of physical energy since you walk for basically 8 hours. -

So yeah, this job doesn't pay the big bucks and is extremely time consuming. Turns out that once I get back home it's 11:30 PM. Meetups on thursday is impossible for me 'til I find something else -_-... Thank god I'm free on weekends. -

I'm totally missing on that Pre-Reg Fee... I thought that I'd be told if I were hired but that's tomorrow :C... Then again, if I DO get hired, I'll be able to pay that 35 no problem :D. -

C'est sur Cremazie Ouest, it's close to Metro Cremazie. So I do believe that you're mistaken on the distance. Shifts are from noon to 8:30 PM, so from the building to Metro Cremazie to Metro Laurier to the HQ, I'd give it at least 30 mins. Meaning that I'd get there around 9 PM. 5 bucks for 2 hours is not something I'm gonna want to do regularly, so we'll see (that is if I even get hired LOL). I haven't played Blazblue since last time I've shown up, this feels weird ~_~... I'm gonna get started on getting rid of bad habits and bad blockstrings immediately, I know exactly what's wrong with me >_>. LAGUNA, HERE I COME. And I cleaned my room and changed the position of my bed and all furniture, feels so goooood. Summer is awesome. -

So I've had this job interview with Mab media today and I'm having a training tomorrow, if everything goes smoothly I'm gonna get hired. But the schedule is monday to friday, so I doubt that I'd be able to show up on thursday meetups. You guys better be there on sundays D:... -

WHERE'D YOU PLAY IT? WHERE? I MUST KNOW WHEEERREEEE. EDIT: I forgot that you went outside of Montreal, in Toronto. That's where you played it, of course. FML. It's okay, we've known it all along. Didn't stop us from being friends with gay africans . -

Personal experience is personal experience. You cannot say that it is conclusive just by the fact that you don't get such things. It usually happens to PS3 pad players. The D-pad is actually quite hard and obviously can cause a sore thumb easily. 360 pad is another story. Oh and I've been so behind in terms of music, I just noticed that Wiz Khalifa's album came out (although it came out a month ago). Good fucking shiit . -

@Nolan: Have some confidence bro, hahaha. Lol @ Eb calling me dodgy. I'm not the type to not show up because I'm free, otherwise I would've stopped going to the HQ since after Day 1 I joined. I should've been clearer, it's about money. I'm getting tight, that's my fault for being impulsive though. I wouldn't dodge a tournament just because I'd be free. In fact, I'd love to get my ass handed over. Every defeat is experience, it's a step forward to improvement. Doing my best to find a job, stopped by a Café because I saw my friend inside and I'm not even buying anything while leeching off their internet on my iPod. I'm confident that at some point I'm gonna find another proper job, soon enough. But for now, I have to watch that wallet. I'll be heading home now, I'm hungry. I'll do my best so we'll see about my attendance, do you best guys! -

Agreed. And you know I'm awesome <3. Same here. And I'm pretty sure that you guys are taking the word Anti-social extremely out of context. I'm extremely awkward with people I don't know and I felt that way when I first met you all. Oh and, Nolan. Why do you have a picture of Christian Bale? That made me lol. -

@Eb: Die man! I'm reading Chuck Palahniuk, shit you won't ever understand. Stay gay nigga, haha. @Nini: Stay free, I haven't written anything CREATIVE on Tumblr since the very first day I've made it. CS2 is the shit. Hazama is confusing, Steb is godlike. Kirb has a better Ragna than I do. Fred's Jin isn't 100% free on stick. Level5 knows programming. Eb keeps doing them 6C Shippu. Stay awesome Montreal. -

Well, I'm not sure if it was contract or anything, but they offered us stuff and then came up to us with that sorta random bullshit. It was dumb, they basically set up an account for us although we've declined AND already were with Videotron. That was messed up @_@... I've actually never had a company forcing themselves onto me like they did, so I guess that's the reason I got so flustered hahaha. I'm off to bed, good night Montreal and Dustloop . -

Dunno for him, but they did to me. They even went as far as to send up the package without our approval and had setup a contract under I-don't-know-who's-name until we "finally signed the papers". Bell people are fucking insane. And I've been playing Chrono Trigger after 6 hours of CS2. That game never gets old :3. -

I yelled out loud "HOLY SHIT" when I saw the damage that it did, just wow, awesomesauce. I fucked up my stick's triangle button, which should be my C. Damn you Sekkajin (and of course, SE madcats buttons ._.) -

I have the Linksys Cisco E3000, isn't it supposed to be good >_>? I thought it was the PS3's shitty wireless network card that sucked real hard or something... EDIT: On a side note, I've been playing around with the 3 characters I've mentioned in my last post and I'm really starting to wonder if I'm changing mains or not. Ragna is as fun as ever but Jin's less pushback on sekkajin makes my salt level go down drastically. That was the thing I hated the most on Jin.
