  1. I knew this day would come, the day where I learn the makoto matchup .. ohh god I hate learning new matchups, stop adding new chars ASW!! Alright, here we go (I'll be stealing LK's matchup writeup style; hope he doesn't mind). To start, the corner is the last place you'll wanna be in for this matchup; to escape: 1-[h]9D > 6j.D 2-Nacht Jager (236A) this is your ground escape option if they expect an aerial escape. 3-[w] 5C or j.5C vary your options, don't be predictable. Midscreen: - poke with 5B and 5C - use 2B, 2C, 3C against her 3C - AA her jumpins (j.2C) with 2C - avoid air to air situations; if you must, use j.B - be wary of her super when she has 50 meter - 6B against dash 2A Makoto's pressure: - against 2C: backdash and punish with 5C > rozen > death - against 2A pressure: IB > super - against B astroid > j.2C: punish with 2C - against A astroid > B cross under : punish with 2C CH > rozen - against astroid shot oki: you can't roll out, delay wakeup > IB > backdash or block or wakeup block and CA if you have meter Valk pressure: - 2B oki is dp safe - wolf cancel 4D to bait dp off of wolf cancellable moves Here's a video I made that contains SOME matchup info,
  2. what's valk's neutral game? like how do you approach your opponent in general, and manage your wolf meter? As for now, I 30% of the time run out of wolf meter in middle of combos and get caught in an ugly situation
  3. I just realized ending block strings with 236A is horrible in high level play .. you just surrender ur self to them if you do, and timing the wolf DP bait after it is hard. In another note, wolf DP bait works wonderfully off 6C (whiff, wolf canceled). I used to either go with 6C on their wakeup in the corner or just block if I think they're gonna DP but now it will be all 6C about the wolf j.b fuzzy guard thing, any combos off it? EDIT: and yeah 236A works well to AA far air moves like jin's air ice swords and arakunes j.d .. etc here's a combo I made for 236A AA CH (midscreen and corner) 236A AA CH > 5C(or 2C) > j.B > j.214B > 5D > 236A > 214B > 5C > j.B > j.B > 5D > 5B > 5C(or 2C) > j.B > JC j.B > j.C (DMG=4456, MG=44) better modifications of this combo are very well welcomed 236A can also be used to escape the corner since it advances Valk forward with good speed. Good to add to your corner escape options.

I did some experimenting on Ragna's and Jin's DPs ... all the techniques I tried (4C, 7C, delaying, cancel to human and block) .. worked like 40% of the time ... first, timing the wolf cancel to avoid a dp varies from dp to dp .. jin has 4 so .. delaying too much worked to counter ragna's dp but not jin's C dp. second, timing varies if your opponent IB'ed the the move before wolf cancel like 236A or not. Am I doing something wrong or is this DP bait not reliable enough? EDIT: any other wolf DP bait option or situation you guys know?
  5. hope he sticks to valk all the way. Did he drop ara for valk or is he just subbing him? Hima is my new inspiration after shonen
  6. how do you bait DPs in wolf form? tried 7D and 4D after (h)236A but nearly every DP in the game hit me.
