Well, as I said, I feel that the Makoto is a favourable matchup for Relius having played a good few very solid Makotos (you included) as his usable normals, 5b and 2b, far outclass her in the footsie game. This means he can keep her out quite easily as well as completely bully her during a blockstring as 5b will catch jump-outs as well as be at the right range to CH mash attempts due to Makoto's stubby limbs. Once Relius gets Ignis out you will most likely be forced to block for a good few seconds. Whilst this can get pretty stressful, you actually don't have much to fear as his mix-up is really really bad. He has two lows, 2b and 3c as well as one overhead, 6a, which is incredibly slow and telegraphed. Learn to react to the overhead and his pressure will be a lot less scary. Also, try not to jump out as Ignis 6d will still hold you in place or you will get caught by 5b and comboed into knockdown, which is how I beat you in the second match. The most important thing to do under Relius pressure is to make sure not to hit buttons and to react to the overhead and throws, rather than anticipate them. All of his normals have good p1s and thus go into good damage anywhere on the screen if he has the Ignis gauge to do it. Now what you want to do is make sure you get him blocking and keep him there, his fastest normal that hits crouching is a 7 frame 2a, so he cannot mash out of pressure easily at all. Believe me when I say he is free as fuck on knockdown without 50 bar to counter assault. You also want to be in his face at all times to punish Ignis summons and stop him from getting her onto the field. Unfortunately, in this matchup I feel that Relius J.b actually acts as a decent air to air due to Makoto's stubby normals so the air game is a lot safer for him as well. Another thing to note is that Ignis has very low life, so I will have to back off eventually to regen Ignis and get her out again, this is you chance to close some distance but I can still bully Makoto with 5b due to it's range and then cancel into Lanto or Ignis summon>pressure. Honestly, it would be much easier to explain what to do in person and in games but I won't be at AH next week due to exams.

Also Arakune is an unappealing ball of sludge that's only 'unique' because he can't speak worth shit and has been corrupted by a mysterious POWAH! There is literally nothing badass about him, he comfortably fills the archetype of crazy monster which is overdone because it can't string two words together without sounding like a retard. Also he's a really stupid character in game. See, told you I could think of ways ;D

Always helps that he's your main right? :3 I mean, I personally can't think of any reason to hate Bang or Relius, but I can think of plenty to hate Arakune. Also, Zak, are there any videos of that guy's Relius? It sounds like I could learn a thing or two if he's as good as you say.

Bang is pretty much on the back burner for now seeing as I've found my calling in Team Clover. I swear Relius is a character made for me. Makoto is too fucking adorable not to play and love her to bits as a character . Her playstyle really fits me as well.

Dude, Valkenhayn needs at least one weakness, he excels at every other aspect of the game. A Valkenhayn with good movement is very hard to pin down and pressure, it doesn't help that once he gets on the offensive, he is very very difficult to stop; which is the main reason why he is top tier as fuck. What's the name of the Valkenhayn you faced btw?
