Oh I know, Relius is easily the coolest character in this game. There's a method to my madness of maining the man.

One day, before I got knocked out by Aigis, I forgot to turn my swag off. And I woke up, covered in bitches.

True, but keep in mind he's only pulling this above average stuff with Ignis out, he'll still be meh without her. It's just in certain matchups, even with Ignis out, it's incredibly hard for him to get out of pressure without 50 meter, and even that can be baited. I can see we're you're coming from though, it could make him a tad too strong. Whatever, I'm just salty about stagger pressure xD.

That's why I feel those changes I suggested would help him so much, they would make him really really scary offensively with many ways to open you up, as the reward should be for having Ignis out, but still retain that vulnerability without Ignis. Also the higher Ignis life would meant that we would still be able to get decent combo after a pressure string compared to now where we have to resort to bad damage and give up pressure just to keep Ignis alive.

I've been thinking of a few changes that Arcsys could make to Relius which would make him a stronger character overall but still in line with the rest of the cast. It's clear that Arcsys designed him to become a very strong character with Ignis active, yet sub-par without Ignis with an emphasis more on zoning the opponent in order to safely summon her. With this in mind, here are a few ideas to help complement this reliance on Ignis: -Speed up his overhead to 18-20 frames but make him only be able to get a reward off of it with Ignis out, or if he spends 50 meter without Ignis. -Give him a command grab which can be followed up with Ignis out, but requires 50 meter otherwise. -Only make Ignis go into slow regen if she herself is hit, at the moment it seems as though she goes into slow regen if Relius is even breathed on. This coupled with her low life means that Relius is left without Ignis for a lot of the match, and that he has to sacrifice damage and pressure in order to keep her alive a lot of the time. Some more Ignis life would be nice too. -Make his 2c a good anti-air, everyone wants this. Possibly some small hitbox adjustments on some other normals like 6b. -Speed up 2a to 6 frames, this would help him in getting out of pressure without Ignis because at the moments he's pretty free without 50 meter to CA. These are just some thoughts I had today that would help make Relius with Ignis active the offensive God that Arcsys seemed to want him to be, but a Relius without Ignis to be hindered, yet still able to somewhat hold his own.

Tager is even, Arakune is bad for him. He has no way to compete with Arakune in the air seeing as his air normals are shitty air to airs and his anti air sucks. He has no way of breaking out of pressure without 50 bar (as always) and Arakune A mash eats Led Ley alive. Plus curse ends the round as always. It's just a pain trying to catch the guy seeing as he 'zones' primarily in the air and Relius has no moves that shut down that area of the screen without wasting Ignis.

Rachel before you get knocked down, Makoto and Tsubaki. He has a few even and the rest are bad, some even disgustingly bad.

TBH in the Tager matchup the only thing you should be doing is baiting sledges and poking him with 5b/2b to get him frustrated whilst staying out of his reach. It's one of his winnable matchups, of which he has like, 3 in his favour. The scariest thing about Relius is his frame traps, I have a throw bait technique that is very hard to read and leads into 5.5k+ meterless in the corner and over 3.5K midscreen. His mix-up is really really ass though, there is literally no reason why should be getting hit by his overhead and you can mash out of it most of the time, plus it's horribly unsafe without Ignis. 2D should be used sparingly because it takes so much meter for a mediocre mixup that, if you hit with it, can only do little damage if you want Ignis to stay alive. Relius without Ignis is a dead man. Not hitting buttons>Relius Throws>Relius, heck even breaking one of his throws dismisses Ignis into slow regen. Yes, he gets punished hard for attempting to throw you. But fuck, who am I to complain, he's still viable, it's just harder to win certain matchups.

That or they mash hard I swear his only decent normals are his Bs, everything else sucks so bad, heck even his anti-air doesn't work 70% of the time and for a fatal it goes into pretty shitty damage. What sucks even more is that he doesn't even have a remotely good mix-up game to make up for it.

Why is everyone so free to Relius when he's such a bad character....

Hex is a D mashing scrub and you should all feel bad for riding his nuts so hard. The only unique thing about his Noel was his sexy as fuck Haida execution.

Come on now, only i'm allowed to say those type of things. Also, we all know that the only reason you were 'half decent' back then was because Noel was top tier

Learning Carl is fun, if only to fill the void that Eddie has left by not being playable online yet ;( Soon, the time for dat ass and triple unblockables will come, and it shall be glorious. (Not that I can do the triple unblockable but still)
