  1. I'd be glad to help out with this if I could... I'm still learning mechanics though, so if anything I'd have to collab with one of you guys who are more experienced. At the least I could make the video if no one else wants to/can. I made a little guide video on 214a~d > 6a, dunno if that's of any use.
  2. I think he means like, 2362366d, or 66 236236d. Just getting the slide with PF.
  3. ok, so i got premiere pro recently but hadn't had a chance yet to get familiar with the workflow/gui, so had some fun figuring that out while making a vid for anyone having trouble with 214a~d > 6a. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNIgklqtiVM there ya go, miles.
  4. haha yeah the time zones are a bit off. although, i did just finish up the last semester of college and have no job, so time ain't too much an issue. that's why i've been posting so much over the last few days. xD but if the timezones are still too far off for ya and you still want to see, i could just whip up a simple lil' video. it'll prolly help a number of people who're trying to figure it out anyways...
  5. miles, if you want, I could set up a live stream to show you... it's a bit of a nuisance to get down... the trick if you have to wait to 44 until the other character passes over you, so that it's actually a 66, then once you past them underneath, you 6a back the other way
  6. i dont know how well known this is right now, but if you ever find the opportunity to without doubt land a 2c on somebody when /you're/ in the corner, you can go into 214b~b > j(9) j5d and it sends them backwards to the corner you were just in. edit: it's not really the j(9) that matters so much as connecting with j5d with what seems to be anywhere behind her upper arm/bicep. j(9) just helps make sure that happens. if you arent sure the 2c is going to hit (prolly shouldnt use it in the first place)... i'm not sure if it's really safe or not. you can still 214b over them and maybe get out of the corner, but if they are ready for it you might be in trouble. for the guide: should it be mentioned that 5d, 2d, 236a~d, and 214a/b/c~d break guard primers too? just in case ppl dun know.
  7. I can't imagine they would put different charge times for the different systems... it just doesn't make sense. I think ya guys are placebo'ing yourself, lol. ...and yes, placebo is a verb now.
  8. Malformed video id bro I need to work on that 623c > whiff for the corner carry thing... it like, goes against all my natural rythm. Blah.
  9. Not horrible if you know what move you're doing before the 2c so you know how you want to time it for the height. That dead-end timing is an extremely small frame window from what I can tell (heck, maybe just me failing at a specific timing), so not a big issue.
  10. Yeah, that's what it was. Assuming the prior move is 2c, it's all height dependent like you said. If you hit with the 2c with what feels like as late as possible, they are low enough that they don't bounce back over you on the 214a~d; if you connect sooner with the 2c then there might be enough time to dash back for the 6a. From what I can tell now, seems to be like a little bit of a dead-end for the combo if you hit in the middle timing with 2c from what I can tell so far; too high and still bounces over you, but also not enough time for the dash back. Anywhoo, got it figured out enough so I can use it. B)
  11. Hmm... I'm having some trouble with the spacing on 214a~d > 6a when at the corner... The issue is the opponent's character will bounce up over me most of the time before I do the 6a. I saw a video of someone on your channel, Omni, who was dashing away for a split second and then would 6a... I tried doing that a handful of times but couldn't get it to work; think I was too slow. Anyone have any tips?
  12. Is it just me... or is the normal throw garbage now? I can't find anything to cancel it with to combo. Also, I miss 236a~d > 214b/c~d combos... and impact doesn't feel very... impacty D: /qq ;-;
  13. Thanks a bunch, miles, it was very helpful. The same night you posted this, I discovered this site had an inbox and found a pm from Nini telling me a lot of the same, especially about the unsafe blockstring, lol. I think I still need to learn what some of the notation is, lol. Dunno what oki or dp are. There's probably a notation guide somewhere but I haven't found it. <-< I should probably look up frame data too, now that I think of it. Been a bit busy with college/research and whatnot, but I got in a few games here and there and have been paying close attention to my play to try and improve as much as I could with what little time was available. Anywhoo I've been trying to apply the advice, and have a couple new vids up to critique for whoever is willing to. The main things I've been working on is having a less predictable offense/blockstring, though I'm still not sure if it's what someone would consider safe, and at this point could probably still use a bit more variation for certain situations (you'll see what I mean), and being able to capitalize on opportunity better; getting in more/the most damage I can. vs Rachel - Mu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zx7ADRF6ss Does Rachel have a weird/small hurtbox? I noticed when I went into 5cc > 6b > 5b on successful hits, that the 5b would whiff... a couple times when I remembered it didn't connect, I just skipped the 5b and went straight to 5d. If that's some kind of consistent match-up issue, I'll make sure to make note of it for later. vs Valk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KttQK3Jbn7c Specifically, I'm looking for things to improve on with mental gameplay; what options do I choose that are poor, and why. I'm not /as/ concerned with simple mechanical issues such as the failure of the ending combo on rebel 2 of Rachel, because those are an easy fix with more practice (I use a wired 360 controller, analog stick). But if you know better options to use, those would be good to know. I know one of my issues is that sometimes I am over-confident in a read (is it called a read here? sorry lol, I'm really only familiar with Smash jargon xD), and then act on that read before confirming that they're actually doing what I thought they were going to do... and get punished for it, lol. So, it's kinda like, pseudo-autopiloting, but at the end of the day, still stupid on my part. xD Anywhoo, hope to get some feedback, if I can. ... *previews post* Damn, I talk a lot. >-> <-<
  14. Alright so I uploaded some matches, and here's to hoping they're not so bad as to be almost unable to critique. I tried to put up matches that would kinda show how I'm currently acting in a variety of situations. vs Arakune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVA7Ub_3YIg vs Jin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96Kfoh5E62o vs Litchi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdN_b3OHA7I vs Rachel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwiUOYDV7bc vs Ragna http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xgJroPyJcI vs Tager http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMJ_H38OHf8 I think my biggest thing to work on right now is getting more experience just so I can recognize, and capitalize on opportunity when it shows up; and especially at getting in more damage when I land a hit that can lead to whatever. Not exactly sure how to handle Tager... that match-up is a mystery to me. Sometimes I manage to put up a fight, but the majority of the time I just get murdered. Ragna is a bit odd, too, but I think I'm figuring him out slowly at least. I consider the match I posted to actually be a loss, since at the start of the 3rd round he was moving around for a second, and then must've brb'd the moment I started attacking. Kinda thought he just screwed up on blocking until I took a good chunk of his health, then backed off, lol. Anywhoo, feel free to (and please do) tear apart my play to shreds with critique. lol.
  15. Sounds awesome. B) Hmm... stream or spectate... well, either way, we'd have to both be online at the same time. Could I add you on xbl/some chat client?
  16. Hmm... new here, and to traditional 2D fighters in general... Was wondering if anyone would care to critique some replays of mine; I don't have anything uploaded to my youtube right now, but if anyone is interested, I can do a live-stream whenever.
