I've been gone for a while. Letting you all know I'm not dead. Got a feeling Azrael is going to be hated by the mature DL community. No idea why.

C0R knows more about this game than the fucking developers.

Every character has to be methodical. Yeah, Carl does have to work harder on average, but I think most people vastly overestimate how hard it is to play Carl. You say he doesn't have tools to rush down? Carl has Ada to cover his movement options, Volante and Fuoco both come to mind as solid approach tools that bolster his overall offensive potential. Of course I'm not going to lecture you on Carl. But the damage and mixups Carl gets frighten me more than any other character in the game, the lack of random hit conversion doesn't mean shit when you're in the £1 McChicken Sandwich of pain.

His combos look about as difficult as EX Hakumen. So it wont take long to start running train with Az. I reckon his biggest downsides will be matchups. Hazama comes straight into my head as a nightmare. Take on of the best EX Characters, give him buffs and let him run wild in a cast that just got nerfed almost universally. Though, once Azrael gets in and you're on the deck. The round can end really quickly for any character. (Especially of throws. Shit they go a lot of damage)

Azrael is ridiculously scary. Anyone would panic against that raw damage

You say that as if the FGC isn't made up of debt-riddled students. I know I can't compare our situations, but everything you typed is more or less the situation I'm in now, and it doesn't stop me from going once or twice a year, or just making a 1 hour trip to play casuals for a day.

I'd say some characters have a harder time than others hitconfirming into Standing / Crouching. Which character do you play?

I can't offer you specific information on Valk. But I can tell you that if you like the character and you want to main him. Just do it. You can do well with every character in this game, and Valk is a great choice.

I didn't assume. I'm just saying you have the option. Whether or not it's practical isn't for me to say. You could grab the train or even fly if the Tournament / Scene was active for long enough. I'm staying in London for 3 Days, That's like £150 in total. For once a year, that isn't bad at all.

Nothing has been unwelcoming in a while because nobody new has joined haha. Also, the character subforums are largely great. But some are definitely more welcoming that others. 2 Spring to mind and the rest are just cool. I remember a while ago a guy posted in the BM section complaining about the fact he didn't know how to combo properly, he went on to talk about his mindset, problems with his hands and getting psyched out in matches and panicking. He pretty much got his ass handed to him by about 5 people repeatedly before anyone posted anything of even the slightest bit of worth. That's not the image I want DL to have. We've all been here long enough to understand that sometimes you literally just have to deal with it. Every forum has it's arseholes. But I'd just prefer it if it were kept to "x" characters general thread or something. The UK thread is a prime example. We're all assholes, but that's the correct place to do it. Okay. I'll stop. How can anyone in America complain about being stuck Online? Really? In the EU we're limited to local offline sessions. I do those about once a week. And then every year I travel a few miles for a tournament with roughly 80 people. Other than that I'm just an online player. In America, You have a lot of Tournaments both east and west coasts. You have EVO, Curleh, NWM, B2 and loads of other events on either side that are easy to travel to. I'm heading to London next week to play. Thats a 3hr ride from the top of the country. If I lived in America I'd just make the effort, because you have it amazing over there. Regardless of where you are. Heck, Even your Online is more populated than it is here. - Also. Even more off Topic. DL is elitist as hell. We all know the names but we never say them. The shit really needs to stop. I haven't seen a lot of new faces since I landed here a while ago.
