I did a basic box basemesh for this so I didn't have to sit there building the basic shape for an hour, but the idea is the same. The reason why you want to do sculpting as early as possible is because 1: It's easy 2: You can do 'infinite' amount of details 3: You can nail the basic shape down and retopo in an hour or two, and 4: It's REALLY easy.

I am sculpting, then retopologizing + editing from there, then uvmapping and texturing. Then the arduous task of RIGGING. Should be fun.

Some progress so far. I'm moving rather quickly, but still painfully slow, so feel free to drop by.

Hey all, so I've been brushing up on my 3D stuff lately and thought I'd give another go at a GG character. Some of you might remember my ill-fated A.B.A. from a year or two back, well, this time I'm gonna give my main, Zappa, a shot. So come on by, request some tunes to be played, and chat and learn some neat tricks about 3D as I try to (hopefully faithfully) recreate a GG character in 3D! I agree Phrek would be good, but if he doesn't want to do it, I'd be happy to take over. I'm somewhat active and plan to be VERY active when +R hits consoles. I've also got fair enough knowledge to clean stuff up and help new players.

Hacker Dojo, a place I go to every now and then to work on art and stuff, just moved to a new location and it is HUGE. We could definitely rent out one of their event rooms and get a tourney going there as well. Just food for thought, I think I'll email them and see what costs there are for events and stuff. I'd be happy to organize a more GG centric tourney there, but of course other games would be included. (Given the space, I think we could even set up for a much wider audience, including the SRK crowd. Oh and they will be getting their ridiculously fast internet in place as well so streaming would be easy to set up). Hope to see more of you guys. Miss playing games already. (When is R coming out anyways?) Oh and Dakanya, I might be interested in purchasing a stick... Hit me up with details and we'll see what I can do. I dunno how much money I'll have for a bit but I should be relatively solid for a while, so I might be able to buy something off you.

Seems like 360 is slightly 'superior' to PS3 in that it is PS2 perfect. It's not arcade perfect (which is 2 frame input delay), but is 4 frame input delay, while PS3 has generally about 5 frames (and apparently has some slowdown, though I can't say for sure since I've never played on PS3). This probably means we'll want to use 360's for most, if not all of our GG setups in the future. I know, converting for it is ass, and for one frame difference it's probably not really worth it, but I thought I'd point it out. Also, I'm gonna try to go to the thing on friday at Gamecenter. Come on out if you wanna play some games.

Fantastic work! I tried it out on demul and found that the hitboxes seem to skip about and don't draw smoothly, skipping a lot of frames and stuff. Is this normal? Or do I have something configured incorrectly? Also, can't wait until there's a way to rip the sprites for the wiki! Cheers!

There's some good tips in the matchup subforum, check those out. If you have any questions after reading up on that, feel free to ask and I can help out. To punish his normals, you want the ghosts or naked. Toss ghosts or time your summon to clash with the second hit of his pokes and you'll get a free summon (or you can cancel the clash and run in if you want). Dog is rough to use in that fight but still useful. Sword is practically useless.

If I remember right, 2HS c.S connects on crouching opponents. Or it's 2S. I can't recall correctly. Either way, the timing will probably be too difficult to do reliably, but you're welcome to try it and report back if you find a combo that works!

No, this means the dog can now absorb two hits for us now. I see it as a buff: Dog gets hit and goes to sleep, Zappa gets free counterhit while dog wakes up.
