This is what I like to hear! Hopefully there will be plenty of notice as well, so some of us can get plane tix while they're still cheap. FF looked great this year from what I saw on stream, thanks to everyone who helped put it on.

There's a UCI gaming group on Facebook you might check out to make sure they will have P4 setups, as the gaming nights are largely dominated by Marvel. But there is normally at least one or two Persona setups as well. They have also been running ranbats every month or so for the game. I posted something in the FB group to see if maybe somebody would come here and talk about it, we'll see what happens. I'm down for Saturdays, as that's easiest for me, but Sunday might work sometimes too. Also, I think bi-weekly hookups with maybe a monthly tournament might be the best idea? But that's just my opinion.

Not that I know of, honestly. The only places that have Gear/BB are Japan Arcade (in Little Tokyo), CalPoly Pomona and Round 1 in the City of Industry. There are a bunch of anime guys in the OC, however, so try to meet with them and work out possible rides to and from. Also, it's still kind of far but UC Irvine has been running weekly game nights on Tuesday and has had Persona as a rotating game

good shit to everyone who came out and played at FFA yesterday. I couldn't make the tournament but it was crazy to see small lines for GG most of the night, and a lot of good games were had.

sat down with P4 for the first time in months. Might actually give it a shot again

I know some of the people working at R1, I'll see if there's anything they can do about getting new sticks on the BB cab

Gonna try and make it out, and will make the attempt to pull ALL of old-school team St. Louis out of mothballs for this if I can. PS. I KNOW people are going to want to run this Saturday, so I'm pulling for then.

St1ckbug: This is really what needs to be happening with the BB community: talking about problems and positing solutions. I don't agree with everything you've said here (I know a lot of the old MW GG heads were in school and still traveled all the time for that game is one example) but I think this is the type of post that needed to happen. Honestly, BB is almost as dead as GG at this point. People can talk all they want about the netplay community but that doesn't amount to shit when we're talking about competitive gaming. In fact I think it's netplay that is killing the game. With GG we had to go out and find people to play, or try to get friends into the game so we had people to play against; BB eschews all that in favor of hopping online and being completely unproductive in terms of scene-building. And that ties into people not going to majors because most people don't go to their first major alone (or even tournaments in general, really). Shit, during GG the Nebraska guys used to drive 8 hours to Chicago for MWC every year, but it wasn't terrible because they were going with friends (normally about 3-5 people) and it became like a road trip; we did the same shit traveling from St. Louis. But when you don't have any friends going with you the journey can be a bit shitty: having to cover your own gas if driving, maybe your own room too if you're not super close with anyone else in the scene. And that's the real problem with BB in America: in most parts of the country there is no real 'scene' or community. It seems as if the EC has a strong group, but I know the midwest has only disparate pockets of players (who really just play the game together, they aren't friends) and out here in SoCal I can't really say either way since I don't follow the scene now. During GG the midwest hung together hella strong, as we tried to get as many of us as we could out to each big tourney. It almost became a social gathering as much as it was a tournament. I just don't think BB has that. I'm sure it could, but it doesn't right now.

I'm for sure down. I gotta wonder how many people we'll get, as I expect most of the guys in the scene who've been playing for a while are right around that 25ish age. You really wanna make it interesting? Do it with #R or Slash Also, every time you frc you have to drink

Uh, but what about getting to play the japanese because they have that experience? I mean, I dunno your money situation so I can't speak to that. However, if you're only not coming because you think it's a guaranteed win for the japanese (especially when there's a good amount of money on the line all the way thru 7th), that's pretty bitchmade
