Sweet, I'll PM you for the address. I play Skullgirls too btw, just not like...at a pro level lol. BB is my main game, but I'm not actually all that great at that either lol. I don't have much time to play because of school, but I wanna get games in IRL, I feel like it's more enjoyable. I'm not available to come for Reading Week but after that, I think I can make it Mondays and Tuesdays since those are my least busy school days. Thursday and Friday are my most busy days so that would have to be on a case-by-case thing. Anyways, I'm pretty open to any game you guys are playing. I've got P4A, BB, SG, GG, and SF:3SO. I can even try playing Marvel if you want, though I've never played it before lol. I should note that I haven't actually modded my stick yet, I need some cool art to go on it first lol. What do you guys end up playing the most? I'll put more time into those games with my stick.

Oh cool, I think Algonquin might work out for me. HQ will depend on how far your place is lol. I saw that you guys wanted everyone to learn GG a couple pages back? I don't know anything about GG, but I've played BB for a long time. I also play pad on PS3, but I just recently bought a brawl stick and some Sanwa parts for it. Not sure which I'll play but I want to learn stick. Why thank you, I appreciate that :P

Hey guys, I only just noticed this Ottawa thread, even though it's apparently been around forever. Thought I'd join in on this. Where and when do you guys meet? And what games do you play?

To be honest, I always thought that she'd be kind of evil at least. For one, I don't see Relius being able to fake love (not to say that it's impossible). If he did like her, it's because he saw potential in her soul before they got involved. I figured Ignis might've been someone with a similar type of personality but hopefully we get actual facts at some point. Maybe I'll stop here actually. I don't want to shut down the Ignis talk, but there's so much we don't know that we can't even start somewhere. The only thing that's pretty much guaranteed is that she had plenty of hatred to be able to satisfy Relius' plans. At least with Ada, we know that she loved Carl, and thanks to Carl's memory, we have a vague sense of her personality (maybe someone like Litchi, without the monster love). Actually, this isn't much either... Does Relius make an appearance in the Phase Shift novels? Anything we learned in there useful? I'm guessing we'll learn a lot about Ignis in the next game because of that lynchpin business at least.

On the soul thing: I thought the reason Relius was interested in her soul was because it had a high potential for hatred? I didn't think it had to be "strong", necessarily. IIRC, he needed a similar type of soul for Ignis so he could use the lynchpin. I thought that was why he almost saw potential in Carl at one point, even stating that he may yet live up to the Clover name for stoking his hatred thus far. I'm also pretty sure he said Ada was a failure. Now that I'm reading your comment, it could be that Ada had too much love for Carl, which made it soul less viable to Relius. Anyone remember anything I mentioned, or am I just talking out of my bum here?

The thing about Ada sounds kinda plausible, given that we know she volunteered. Do we know anything about Ignis' circumstances in becoming...uh Fluctus Redactum "Ignis"? On Amane: I feel like he'll end up kinda like Rachel, in that she seemingly knows everything but is always vague and whimsical. Either that, or he'll be a complete joke and only get relevance in the next game (please be the former!). Maybe that short conversation they had will get some expansion in the story mode and reveal way more than it's letting on right now but I don't really remember Rachel being forthcoming with explanations to anyone about anything.

I honestly don't even remember what CT Carl could do. Clap loop? That was dumb. I'll stick with CP. I don't think CP Carl is bad, he just looks like less fun that CSEX Carl. I'll probably have more to say when I get my hands on him, but for now, I'd rather just learn Carl Lite™ in preparation for CP.

Wow...that's actually kinda sad. Who are the big names who are still playing Carl? I don't know enough Japanese players.

This pretty much sums up the general attitude of the Carl boards I think. Personally, I just don't like the idea that I have to work harder for the same amount of damage while the other characters I play just got buffed in ways that makes seemingly more fun and viable. Anything new to report on Carl though? I feel like all we do is go back and forth with people saying either "this Carl sucks" or "no he doesn't".

Sorry, I misspoke when I said "everyone". I mean that Jubei and Rachel keep telling him to never give up, and because they're significant figures of influence for him, I counted that as "everyone he's on friendly(ish) terms with". There's Tao too, but like...she's Tao. I'll accept what you said about his goal to better the world, but to be honest, I'm not really clear on what he's doing; other than stopping Terumi, which means stopping bad things from happening, I guess. I mean, yeah, he's trying to stop the NOL but what is the NOL trying to do in CP? I remember reading that Relius is going to use the lynchpin to remove seithr, which in turn stops armagus/ars magus from working, but I don't even get how that benefits the NOL as an organization. It also sounds like it's what S7 wants. It also means that in the future, people don't have to live in/on mountains. Anyway, sorry, I'm getting lost in my thoughts here. Litchi's struggle just seems to be more relatable and less impossible of a task. For one, she's a scientist who studies seithr and its effects on biological organisms, right? She's also a really nice doctor. I just find it weird how little people supported her in the story. Did Kokonoe try to help her at first, or was she like "Oh man, he's long gone. Don't waste your time."? To be fair, they did try to reason with her and get her to stop but I feel like they could've easily captured Arakune all those times she ran into him and sealed him somewhere while she could work on a way to save him (alone if need be). Maybe just as a courtesy, like "Yeah, he's screwed but, we don't want you to hurt yourself. Here, take him. Go nuts." Because she sided with the NOL? Yeah, I'll give you that. I find it weird that you say Ragna isn't pursuing a cause that'll get him killed though. He comes the closest to death than anyone in the story in every game, doesn't he? He puts himself in harms way to try and fight a fight that, up until recently, was literally impossible for him to win. I feel like the main difference in the Litchi vs Ragna's situation is that Ragna has miraculously gotten powers to back up what he wants to do (not discounting his working for it when he trained, Idea Engine fusion etc). I feel it's a matter of luck.

You're talking about Litchi right? I thought that was kind of the point of her character though. Everyone is always telling her that she's powerless and that there's nothing she can do. It kind of makes sense that she'd end up that way imo. That said, I don't fully comprehend the difference of her situation vs Ragna's. She's trying to save ONE guy and Ragna is pretty much vs the world but everyone encourages Rags to never give up despite how impossible the odds are. It looked to me like Litchi had a better shot, but I guess I was wrong :V I kinda feel bad...even as someone who pretty much hates Litchi. As for the second thing you said...I hope you're joking :\

Kingdom Hearts has the same problem (segmentation) but it's my favourite franchise, followed by BB; which is probably why I put up with its BS so easily lol. I suspect that most of the stuff covered in the novels will make it into the games at some point (albeit, a bit watered down) so I'm not too worried. The lynchpin was mentioned by Relius in CS iirc? My gripe with BB is that there only seems to be one person at a time who knows what's going on and they only have a bit to say before they get cut off and we have to wait til the next game. That said, I'm glad it's Relius because he's currently my favourite character and he seems to be at the center of the story in CP.

I thought Jin told Rags that he wasn't under control though? Terumi screwed up his memories though, so maybe he's wrong? From what I remember, he'd forgotten a lot about what happened in Ikaruga.

Speaking of Bullet's mercenary gang, I thought they had been killed during that mission to retrieve Nirvana? I remember her arcade mode mentioning that she couldn't go on some mission to retrieve something it and it went wrong.

Ah, for some reason I thought Makoto and Valk had talked about it but honestly, I have a hard time remembering anything BB lately. Jubei I already knew was a different creature on his own but I'd thought that Relius might have had a hand in creating beastkin because of his work with creating prime fields, thus establashing his connection to Valk (if he was a beastkin) but I guess I'll wait for console to clear their relationship up.

Sigged. Also I thought that Valk was beastkin at least? Or is he just a natural werewolf?

So Remix Heart is canon? I've been avoiding it on account of the fanservice and thinking it was a spinoff. I guess I'll get on that now.
