Yeah, I am admittedly talking about training mode. I haven't really played any matches yet and I'm expecting to just drop every 623C > j.236A(w) for the first few, haha.

'Impossible without the right setup' is kind of grossly exaggerating. It's really not that inconsistent at all actually, and it's pretty easy to see if you've got the height to go for 6CC or not, and if not then go for dash 5C2C.

Ohhh. Okay. This is why we need to be more clear about what combo route we're discussing. I thought we were just discussing like, 5BB > 5CC > 236D, not 5BB > 5CC > 623C > j.236A(w) > 5C > 2C > 236D. This 6CC route isn't /too/ bad actually, you just need to hit the 5C 2C asap so they're high enough for 6CC to hit. And if there's not enough height then dashing 5C > 2C seems to work fine for me on the aforementioned characters except Makoto, not having any problems with it on the larger characters though (Haku/Tager)

As far as I've tested this only happens off of a point blank 5CC 623C confirm, any other normals will let the j.214A whiff. That said I've been practicing the j.236A(w) more and I have it down a bit more consistently now, I think my problem was mostly not pressing 5C after the whiff soon enough. Re: Large chars and Makoto Large chars you can still get 200 more damage with the 5B > 2C route but for Makoto the 5B > sj.BCC > j.D > j.B > dj.BCC > j.214A route does like 150 less damage than just going for the much easier normals > 236A > 214D > 5C > 2C > 214B > 5C > 2CC > j.C > j.CC > j.236A > j.214A route

The j.236A(w) is cool but I'm still having issues getting it consistently. On the other hand, I haven't encountered a situation yet where j.214A/B/C(w) won't work instead, and I can pull that off much more consistently.

This isn't a thing even now. It Guard Crushes in Mugen. It was only mentioned because we had it in previous versions so they checked to see if we had it back or not. We don't.

Aside from Overdrive Raid being a rly dumb idea, changes are overall p good tbh. More focus on neutral and less dumb unreactable stuff should be welcomed.

This update was never intended to be game changing. People were expecting way too much.

I don't see what it could change to except a half circle forward or backwards DP.

Regarding the last scenario in the command grab setup video: If you omit the j236A and instead just end with j214X, I believe they can't air tech, so the earliest they can tech is an emergency tech, which falls prey to the command grab. They have the option to delay tech and then rollout, but I think it's easier for us to deal with those options than dealing with air techs?

Yeah, the times that 2CC will just connect are fine, it was just stuff like 6A > 5CC > 6BB > 214B > 5C > 2CC > IAD that I was having troubles with. Daed gave me a few tips and I've been able to get it a few times now, not consistently yet though. The j.214A delay stuff I've managed to connect 5C a couple times now, but it still seems somewhat beyond me so far :S I'll keep at it tho. Thanks!

Can anyone give me some pointers on the 5C > 2CC > IAD stuff? 2CC always pops them too high and I can't seem to find a timing on delaying 2CC to make it work. Also having some trouble with the 623C > j.214A (delay) stuff. It seems kind of finicky in general really. Try throw > 214B > 5C > 2CC > air ender instead, should be more consistent when you get used to delaying the 214B (midscreen).

Yeah A1 is actually pretty decent. DEEN is awful, Gonzo is awful. Production I.G. would be cool. ufotable would be a dream come true. As long as whoever gets it puts some effort into the art and animation then it'll be fine imo. Just potential adaptaiton woes after that.

Depends on the studio animating it. I'll watch it regardless probably, but still.
