  1. Need vids of the Tourney and the Epic commentaries. Tsubaki Astral "NIBELUNG VALESTI!!!" napacomment yung host sa stage ("Hoy ano yang Nibelung Valesti na yan?"). XD
  2. Wholeheartedly agree. The Dustloop combos are generally the "Tried and Tested" on the battlefield. In short, they'll be the (relatively) easy, efficient, and most practical ones around.
  3. Hakumen, right? I fight Hakumens every once in a while and my gameplan changes considerably thanks to his drive. Full-auto offense (my character is a rushdown type) won't work on Hakumen because of his Drive, so I have to rely on Yomi to win. I'm still a newbie on PSN, so I meet newbie Hakus. One of their great mistakes is relying too much on the drive. Newbie Hakus tend to drive on wakeup, drive whenever I dash towards them, and drive more than once ("Hey! I'm spamming D!"). Number 1 counter I use are throws, and pretty soon the Haku is dying. In my opinion though (I never play Haku), Yomi would be your best friend. Try to guess and counter (no, not drive, punish) your opponent's moves. I read somewhere that "Hakumen is a character that exploits bad fundamentals" (or was that about Tager), so it's best to learn what it means. Anyway, go to the Hakumen section and read their stuff. Good luck!
  4. In my opinion, either version works. This is now just a debate between PSN or XBL. Right now, I'm on PSN because of Aksys' other game: Arcana Heart 3, which is not available on my region's Xbox 360. For Xbox 360, if you're a casual gamer, you might find the Xbox360 pad to be a bit... sub-optimal. It takes some getting used to, but it's ok. I've played CT on my Xbox 360 and using the pad was fine. IMO, I really prefer Xbox360 since I have my Ultima Weapon there, a Madcatz Tournament Edition Fightstick. In my place, the Madcatz TE for the 360 is far more common (I've Never seen a PS3 one on my country's stores). On PSN however, all I have is a $37 brandless stick which makes 214 and 236 motions have a 30-50% failure rate(!!). So yeah... I think I got sidetracked there. TL,DR: PS3: +Free online play +Pad is ok XBox360: ++Madcatz TE is more common -Pad ain't that good -Pay to play online Either version works fine. Just play Blazblue!! Good luck!!
  5. Hello there! I'm a newbie too! Welcome aboard!
  6. Awesome! Hopefully Timezone will get the hint and release Blazblue Cabinets (I can dream.). Dibs on the Market Market+Serendra Cabinet!!
  7. You mean the corner bubble? :3 Just curious about that Bubble>Houtenjin. Did the bubble catch Hazama on Jayoku wakeup (nullify Jayoku)? Or was it a Blocked Jayoku then C Bubble CH? Will there be vids? :D
  8. Sugou is a Plat user? Is he/she/it gonna be at the Otaku Expo? What setup? ...SHARINGAN!!!
  9. Here's a tip if you're lost: "Follow the cosplayers! (especially if they're cute)"
  10. Plat Broken. Must practice more netplay. Oh yeah! What time do you people go online on PSN? (those on the "Globe" list on page 1 of this thread).
  11. Agreed with what other people said above. Most things are best learned through experience. Here are some stuff I learned the HARD WAY online: 1. One of Valk's BnB combos sometimes end on a certain flying kick that's an OverHead, and if blocked it's VERY punishable. 2. The last hit on Tager's Magna Tech Wheel (236236B) is an OverHead. 3. Don't back-roll when cornered.
  12. For me, I haven't done much of the challenge modes. I do believe that they are there to provide basic combos that you can use and to learn how your character plays like, and what stuff you can do (I find a lot of those things to be difficult, but knowing that you CAN do those would be really helpful). Anyway, if you're a complete beginner, yes, go for the challenge modes to learn the BnBs. In my opinion though, I prefer the Dustloop combos, as those were discovered and recorded by players though their experience and creativity. The "Tried and Tested" if you will. After you can nail down combos though, go for Arcade Mode/Versus Mode on Hard/Hell, then Challenge Mode (Tager/Hakumen+MindReading). Those are VERY easy though compared to fighting REAL people online. Fighting real people (the great players) is where the game is really at, and it will surely test your mettle. LolOffTopic: I usually get a split-second lag when fighting online, so my moves get delayed and reaction time is dulled... so it's YOMI to the max! Your opponent is lagging too, so time to guess what they're gonna do a split-second later and counter it! (and hope that your split-second-late counter will reach it in time)
  13. You can try the Cross Battle Adapter. It's for the Wired Xbox360 controller and it'll make it work for the PS3. http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_cross_battle_adapter.htm I have read somewhere that it's not that good for Fighting Games since the inputs will be delayed. Too bad though. I'm just gonna order a Toodles ChImp online to dual-mod my Madcatz TE (using a $37 brandless fight-stick is just TERRIBLE. I mean, 214 motions RARELY WORK).
  14. Hello there! Yup! I've already joined the FB group. I'm the Plat who back-rolls into the corner and can never combo 5C>236B (Heart Carz) or do any 214 motion on my Virra-mall PS3 stick. Am still a stick-user though. Heeeeeeeey, I used to use the Xbox360 D-pad back at BB:CT. I used Nu-13... DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
  15. So... PS3 only at the Otaku Expo in Megatrade Hall? No Xbox360 w/ Platinum? Oh yeah, someone's gonna bring a (good) stick, right? My PS3 P1,600 Virra Mall stick is kinda CS1 Rachel-tier.
  16. Question, which I don't know if it's been answered already: The 236B>5C>2C>214C>6C>22C: My first issue is that after 22C, the opponent techs, so maybe it's a 22C timing thing? Is it better to do 6A or 5C? If I hit with 6A, I can easily do the jB>jC>djB>jC>236AAA finisher. If I hit with 5C, I kinda drop the Air combo above. Does it need an sjB or something? And oh yeah, for the 6C>22C of the basic corner combo, I heard it was different for most of the characters. Which one should I practice on with their average hitbox? For Ragna, the bubble should be later, and for Tager, 22C should be earlier. Is there an average whose timing applies to most of the cast? I'm thinking Noel or Jin.
  17. I like that explanation, GammaGearJustice. First order of business... Learn to do 236B. As it stands, I got a 50% failure rate on it... until I can get a Toodles ChImp. Anyway, MIC is always off so saltiness is blocked. :3
  18. Thanks for the welcome guys. XD I kinda don't want Plat to be *too* powerful. A few buffs to make her stuff more useful perhaps, but nothing to make her higher than B tier would be good. By the way, RAGNA = ZUBAT!! :P I'm sticking with Plat. Her character design really sells to me, like Nu13 on CT and Mu12 on CS. You think she'll be more popular after the new CS2 update? Will Jyuubey make more Plats?
  19. From lurking on these boards, it seems Plat is gonna be pretty good/almost high tier soon. Hopefully she doesn't get *too* strong, since I like my characters on the solid mid tier. And I like it when my characters are rare. :3 By the way, is it just me, or do I see a lot of Platinums on the Player matches in PSN? I mean, the Ragna/Jin are like Zubats, next most common are Noel/Haz/Tager, then I see Platinums/Rachels. I also fought a Carl, Lambda, Arakune, and a Valk once though (by the way, I'm just a level 13, with only a few dozen player matches under my belt). Plat is relatively uncommon, but well used right now I think. With her buffs, she could be far more common soon (We won't be special anymore ). Maybe Mu12 will be common as well. I've NEVER met a Mu12 as of yet, and most likely neither have some people I fought. Stein Spam and the 5C>6C>6D>63214C seems to be effective against most new players. (I have a greater chance of winning with Mu because of that, and my Plat keeps getting her arse kicked) Maybe it's because I don't know how to hitconfirm and combo any greater than 3k, so I have to rely on spacing/footsies. Oh yeah, Hi Guys! I'm new here. Plat Main with a Mu Sub level 13 on PSN, and still back-techs while cornered. Proud owner of a $40 brandless fight-stick. My Greatest weakness: Opponent on the left side, since 236B Heart Car will (70%) turn into... ...5B.
