LOVE THAT ANNOUNCER!!! It'll Troll EVERYONE who hears you play! XD
-
Just fight and have fun! After learning a couple of combos, go and fight some guys. Doesn't matter if you lose 20:1, as long as you learn from fighting (pay attention to what your opponent does and find counters for it).
-
Goes through Ignis? I wish I had known that earlier. Was at the Otaku Expo 2012 at the BBPH Booth and was totally fought a very good Relius for the first time. I was totally outclassed (Don't know how to throw break, IB, or Backdash for invul, and I think Heartcar is a DP). So it'll go through Ignis Frontal Circular Saw? What about Ignis Backstab? (That move is used as an approach tool if blocked, right?) Are Relius' normals mostly all faster than Plats'? Oh yeah, is there a vs Relius thread already? Can't find it. XD

Nice day 1!! Who's the Hyper Relius? Imba, di ko matalo. XD -
Disclaimer: I ain't any good, and all I have is netplay. I play much worse than that "Greatest Arcana Heart 3 Round Ever"... so yeah. Don't know how much of what I say'll count. Anyway, compared to CS2, for some reason matches don't seem as hopeless as before. Back at CS2 every time I move or attack I get counter-hit into a horrible and nasty combo. Now in CSEx, with a faster and longer 5B and a buffed j.C, things really seem to be more not-hopeless now. Combo from throws, ch.bat, ch.cat hammer, and controllable bombs also really helped quite a bit. Even with the overall damage nerf, since I can hit more often and have more tools, the trade off is more than worth it. That's just my opinion though. P.S. Is it just me, or are there a LOT more Taos online? Those matches are SERIOUSLY ANNOYING.

Never had to worry about that one. Tried to learn it, but I just use the j.B>j>C>dj>j.B>j>C>236Axx Air ender. Due to the lag on my country (almost all rooms are zero bar connections, one is uncommon, and 2 almost never happens), complex combos tend to drop a lot. I'd rather take a consistent 3k than something that'd give much less when dropped. Will still practice the more complex yet practical combos for tournaments though. BBPH has one at almost every con.

I'll be waiting for that BBCSEx Plat combo vid. Right now all I can do is 5B>5C>236B. That, and random midscreen heartcars during lag spikes. :P With her damage nerf, that ain't gonna cut it unless my Yomi skills increase from F to E. XD

Mine is in customs too. Expecting to pay $38+ in taxes (seriously). Hate my country.

Kinda reminds me of the time I was playing Blazblue:CS2 on my PSP. My coworker asked me what I was doing and I said: "I'm fighting a big Red Guy with my loli." The room went silent. Followed it up by: "Oh sh-t he grabbed me!"
-
Depends. I just wish they'd give Plat the same quality that they gave the Excellent Model Core Queen's Gate Alice. That thing looks AWESOME.

Tager top tier? I rarely ever get to fight him, so I don't know what to expect and I keep getting 720'd. :P Oh yeah! Favor guys, let's make Tager the Christmas Banner for Blazblue's facebook page! Please like this thingy! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=427835079976&set=a.427834929976.61025.126073299976&type=3 Thank you guys! ^_^

Hello there Blibbles! Welcome! You get the jitters when actually fighting players online? Had that when I started too. Here's some tips: 1. Learn some BnB combos from the Plat combo boards. Play and use those against the computer until you can beat Hell level AI. 2. Play online. Go to player matches and join any room that says "jp". 3. Get Ass Kicked. A lot. 4. Fight in Ranked. Be amazed on your Wins. That'd build up your confidence. Good luck! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

May bagyo nanaman? Barrier block niyo lang yung Tempest Dahlia para walang chip-damage, maski may yero at bubog pa yan. :P -
Can't help but notice that it's a Miku song, and you're using her color scheme. XD Those Astral Troll reversals reminded me of something. One time I was magnetized against a CPU Tager, so he used his Astral to suck my Plat into Pure Soviet Destruction. Those few frames were the most panic-filled moments I ever had... ...and then a 236236C rose from the bottom of my soul. Tager's Astral Grab couldn't penetrate the 33F invincibility, and he got Befriended with the Power of a Thousand Suns.

So how was the tournament? McArthur? Hello Mr. Announcer Guy. XD The Noel vs. Makoto was awesome, and hopefully the audience liked it as well. ^_^ Still, to an outsider it might have looked like a 2d SF or MvC on fast-forward and with extra-long combos since both characters are melee rush-down. (hopefully not, since BB is more complex and far more fun in my opinion) Too bad they didn't allow the exhibition match. Mu-12 versus Jin, right? That would have impressed the audience I think. (Jin with his various options and his swordsman-style being more familiar to people, while Mu-12 with her steins-placement showcasing the strategic depth of the game) Hmm... what if it was an Arakune vs. Hazama/Mu-12/Lambda? Maybe it'd freak people out since it's too unorthodox. :P

Some criterion that I personally use when selecting a character: 1. Female. 2. Looks awesome/fanservice-filled. (and so... DoA:Ayane, SC4:Amy, T6:Alisa, SF4:Juri, and GG:Dizzy) For Blazblue: CT: Nu-13 - her floating swords made me think of Gundam SEED, and she looked awesome. I would've chosen Litchi, but Nu's flying swords appealed to me more. I wanted to choose Rachel, but I thought she was too difficult to learn (and I didn't know about Dustloop then). CS: Mu-12 - the badass look of Nu-13, but with MORE FANSERVICE!! A HUGE plus is that her fighting style seemed very complex due to the stein placement, thus I'll be able to say that BB/GG/Aksys games>Other FGs, since BB and GG are like Fighting+Strategy games, and that each character is VERY unique. CS2: ... ... Bought a PS3 and a Fightstick, and now I play on PSN every day, just because she appeared. Yeah...

*This post is just full of basic tips, since I don't know your skill level. Aside from the general practice combos and stuff, if you can, try playing against real people. Fight as many online matches as you can to shake off your nerves. One of the most important things you need to know about tournaments and fighting other PEOPLE in general is that they're COMPLETELY different from fighting the computer. Unlike the computer which is usually just in berserker mode and can easily be counter-hit into a devastating combo, Humans Know how to BURST, they know how to BLOCK, they can COMBO you, and THEY CAN ADAPT. *And since you're playing Live on that tournament, and not online, opponents (and you) will have better reaction time and can land combos much better since there is no lag. That is something you get just by fighting other people. Try challenging others before the tournament for warmup if its possible. Had my first tourney last Sept. 4, at the Otaku Expo. Won the first match against a Ragna, then got beaten by a Tsubaki. Goin' back to online play to get more real-life fighting experience. Still, most of the players I fight right now lack... something. Meaning to say they aren't that good. Those players I fought at the tournament (Blazblue Philippines) are in a whole different level entirely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWsPCe1diks Anyway, good luck on your tournament! Learn well from it, and play with the people you meet there! Live gatherings of Blazblue are very rare right now.

I hated fighting games since when I was a kid, my older friend keeps kicking my beehind, and I almost never ever win. I've tried Guilty Gear, and I liked Dizzy. Practiced combos and thought I was pretty badass since I could do her BnB and beat Arcade mode on normal no sweat... then I met real players at a gathering and got my beehind kicked real hard. So yeah, I thought I'd stay with Final Fantasy and other RPGs forever... (*there was the occasional Tekken 6 and SF4, but it was just casual fun) Some time ago, I was walking along checking out the videogame store when I saw this anime-looking game (Blazblue: Calamity Trigger, which was basically brand new at that time). I've always liked JRPGs so I thought "Hey, reminds me of Atelier/Tales series, might be good." So off to teh internetz and checked out the reviews. Found out Blazblue was a fighting game... ugh... It had good reviews, so maybe borrowing would be nice. Checked it out and used Nu-13, since she's the best-looking according to my taste (Floating Swords on her back!! GUNDAM SEED!!!). Loved the Character Designs, and the way each and every fighter is VERY unique (*cough*StreetFighter*cough*) and it had a LOT of strategic potential. After a while, I found out about Nu-13's extra flashy 5DD>6DD>2DD>j.c>j.5DD>dj.c>5DD>214D from Dustloop, and I liked the game more. Eventually, Blazblue was a fighter that I really like (but not that much, since I still didn't like fighters) so I bought my own copy for my 360 (never played online, sadly. Still shell-shocked by my past.). Played it casually every once in a while, then BB:CS came out and I mained Mu-12 (I liked her design better, and the strategic complexity of her steins appealed to me. I love strategic/complicated to use characters - but not *too* complicated *glares at Rachel*). I was able to beat Arcade on Very Hard/Hell. Besides, compared to SF, Tekken, and SC, BB is definitely the most fun. Still never played online though, since I don't want to pay for XBL. ...Then Platinum came out... Got a PS3 with just BB:CS on it. Got a Madcatz: TE, though still gonna dualmod it. Have a cheap backup $37 brandless stick until I can use the TE. Now a regular player online... ...WITH OVER 20% WIN RATE!!! (Hey, at least it ain't "getting my beehind kicked")

Makoto vs Noel. Whoever gets hit first loses. XD
-
Also, the "Block after first hit" option is important too. Basically, if while you're comboing and one move doesn't chain well enough with the next (you're too slow, or those moves really can't be comboed together), then the CPU will block.
-
I know. That's why after using it to buy the PCB, I'm gonna seal it in The Boundary. :P
-
Can't use Ebay. No Credit Card. I'm gonna apply for one though, since I'll need to get a Dual-mod PCB. I'm thinking of either the Toodles ChImp SMD, or the Akishop PS360+. Don't know if one would be better than the other though. Anyway, I also heard that PSN has more players as well. I think it's based on this one: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11869-PSN-XBL-Ranked-Character-Usage-quot-Popularity-quot PSN (111,743) vs XBL (47,613). So PSN has almost double the amount of players? Still, with tens of thousands of players, you'll still find someone to fight somewhere all the time, so why count? If XBL is faster, then that's a definite advantage. On PSN, the maximum I EVER get is a one-bar connection (Philippines... our internet is so bad, it's not even funny). I drop combos every once in a while since I'm not used to the slight delay, but it's not that bad as I can still use spacing and react well to my opponent's tactics. Overall though, the netcode is still so awesome that it's no problem. The connection is ok (considering I fight EU and US players a lot), though it could be better. Take whichever console you want, since they're both alright.

Found out the hard way that Heart Car is like an anabolic steroid. It's an incredibly useful tool, but overusing it leads to hypertension, congestive heart failure, and getting countered on block.
