I can't complain because I love Ro-Kyu-Bu, but that's literally the last property I expected to make its way into this game, much less playable. I suppose it'll help ease the pain of not having Taiga. A little, at least. One of my friends is probably frothing at the mouth though. His favorite character is support and his second is playable. My favorite didn't make it in ._. -
I do block, but more often than not I get stuck in a corner and end up in Emotion Low before I have any luck getting someone off of me. It's not fun to blow meter and/or lose offense/defense on what should be standard defensive mechanics.

Well that's where I felt like a big flaw with the game was. I could wake-up super/DP all day and it wouldn't get people off of me. Wake-up supers were almost always blocked and wake-up DPs with Arawn (A version for invincibility frames and faster startup) didn't knockdown. It feels like you have no real defensive options. I mean, the game even punishes you for not constantly taking the offense but putting you in Emotion Low. Your offense is your defense and your offense just doesn't always cut it.

Last time I played it several months ago, you had to organize a player match yourself and Ranked had some JPs in it. Netplay is good enough that you could play them if you wanted. -
Went for my platinum over the weekend. Man, if the current build is an improvement over the netplay of the previous versions, I shudder to think what it must have been like before. It's still God-awful. Other than that, I like it, but it's not quite my speed. And I really hate that there's no dedicated throw button combo like A+C or A+D. The window for the throw command seems incredibly small and makes pulling throws off during laggy online matches almost impossible. It's really hard to get rid of pressure because of it. More often than not I ended up doing a standing C, which is the slowest and most telegraphed move you have. Also upset that only one character has an air throw.

I haven't played this yet (jumped into AquaPazza instead), but I hear a lot of people complain about not being able to skip intros online. Isn't the intro period where 99% of online fighters stabilize the connection before the fight starts? You shouldn't be skipping it anyway.

The projectile and close-range, sure. The wall sticking/running and environment manipulation? Even if she theoretically could, there's no chance they'd do it. So basically she becomes a normal fighting game character. Thus, boring. -

If it were a third-person action beat-'em-up/platformer, I could see Misaka being fun. Sticking to walls, firing off projectiles, close range fighting, environment manipulation... All good ideas. But for a fighting game? I agree, she'd probably be pretty boring. -

Thinking about male characters I'd want in, Touma (Index) would be an interesting choice. I imagine you could do a lot of interesting things with him as far as controlling a fight. -

If we're talking DRRR characters, I'd want Izaya with a Shizuo super. Shizuo just shows up out of nowhere and your opponent just becomes collateral damage in a storm of vending machines and lamp posts while Izaya dodges it all. And he of course fights with his knife. And a Simon assist sounds wonderful. ...But yeah, still hoping we get Taiga. I want her more than anything. -
Too bad on the demo. I was kinda hoping to try through the system changes before I committed.

It'd sure be nice if they just slapped together a new character to throw Link's moveset at. My hopes remain low, though.
