Thanks to both of you! I hadn't considered 2C as an alternative at all, or chains. Mo, your post has so many new ideas to try. The IAD j.2C jump cancel into j.4D~D pretty much left me awestruck by itself, to mention just one. Thanks to both, again!

Hey, everyone! I was wondering if one of you could give me a hand with something I've been trying to figure out. I've been using 5B>5C>3C>J.Gasshou>etc. as my go-to combo, but by the time I realize 5B's been blocked, I'm already inputting 5C, and don't really know what to do afterwards to keep up pressure. Every time I autopilot stance after blocked 5C, I get blown up by mashers, and if I gamble with a staggered 3C and they block it, that seems to end all options to keep up any sort of pressure, and it's back to neutral. Is there something better to do after a blocked 5C? Failing that, how do y'all practice confirming a random 5B hit without going into 5C or 3C right away? Thanks for the input!

Hey everyone! I've been gathering up and sorting the combos you've all been posting on the last two pages that are confirmed to work on 1.1 for my own use. I figured it might help people looking around to have them all in one place, too, and might even save a little work for whoever updates the first post. A sincere thank you to everyone who has been posting here; I was running around like a headless chicken in training trying to figure out what to do after the patch before coming here. Cheers!

Alright, got it, thanks, TD! I'll go grind it, then.

Hey, everyone! I was wondering if I could ask you all a couple of questions, mainly concerning what I should be confirming into on midscreen hits. Right now, I've been using 5BD>6A>dash>5B>6A>236A>dash>3C>214C>dash>6A>4B>dash>5CC into summon for strong hits, and 5BD>6A>4B>dash>5CC for weak starters. The first one in particular is tough on execution; nothing that more grinding won't solve, but I want to make sure it's worth it before committing the required practice time and waterfall-meditation-montage-hours to it. I didn't see it listed on the combo thread's reference post, but see it (and variations) on match videos often. So, tl;dr, should I be going for it, then? The second question is related to j.A instant overheads. Right now, I'm just doing j.2AD>j.C>land>dash>5B>5CC into summon. Is there something better I could confirm into, or is it just not worth the wind/effort to try to get something else out of it? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure who to recommend, but I can offer a bit of advice on this point; like Yasha said, it's just a matter of keeping at it. Stick with a different character, or random if you can't settle on one, but don't use Hakumen again until you break the habit. The same thing happened to me after I used Azrael for a while; no matter who I picked up, I ended up trying to backdash out of everything my opponents did, because I'd become too reliant on Az's invincible-for-days backdash. It's definitely tough, especially at first, but it'll get better.

Legit. Alright! I just picked up my butler outfit from the recruitment office down the corner; how can I say no to that? Godspeed, fellow wolves. I'll be in the lab.

I-it's not like I like Tsubaki or anything, b-baka! Seriously, thank you, and everyone who commented before. It's a shame about Tsubaki, her character design is awesome. Celerity, thanks a ton for bringing up those three; Valk and Litchi are certainly two I'll have to consider and try around a bit more. I like your idea about Makoto a lot; she completely escaped my mind, and even if she's kind of low, she's extremely fun. It's funny; a friend I was talking with this morning about the same problem brought up Makoto, too. Other than those, Jin is a good all-rounder choice that might serve as a backup. I'm thinking about subbing him, he doesn't look too time-consuming. Relius and Rachel are still in the running, too. What do you all think about Tao? She looks confusing, I couldn't really grasp her neutral or gameplan when I tried her, and pretty much just looked into ways to counter her. What is the general idea of what you're trying to do when you play her?

Hey, everyone! It's been a few months since the release of BBCP, and I've been pretty much alternating nonstop around the entire cast, to the point where I'm almost up to 75% challenge mode completion. I'm planning to go to EVO this year, and want to settle on a main to train with for the next few months so I'm not taken out in my first two matches. Since, apparently, I'm unable to choose by myself, I wanted to ask you guys and gals for help. Any advice at all is welcome! So, I used to main Hazama in BBCS:EX, but honestly, I can't say I like his playstyle in CP. Whether it's the changes or just me, he feels bleh for some reason, and I can't seem to put any energy into training with him. My sub in Extend was Rachel, and she's absolutely awesome once she gets her pressure rolling, but I hate having to play the waiting and zoning game in the meantime to create space for pumpkin summons. I'm looking for a character with a strong pressure/rushdown game plan, with either fast normals or nice pokes. Decent oki is a plus! So far, the ones I've liked are: Kokonoe - Love her character, love her moveset, love her theme, and would probably be my first choice; but, with BBCP 1.1 coming out until May, I'm afraid I won't have enough time to practice with her new version before EVO, and won't shake off habits I learn in the meantime that might not be possible afterwards (6B revolver action with everything, for one). Relius - A little on the slow side, probably about the slowest character I'd consider, but he has impressive pressure. Izayoi - Like Kokopuffs, I love the character, but she's getting a lot of changes in the upcoming patch (even harder to fake-train with in BBCP 1.0, since even her movement changes), and her current version feels a little limited in options. Her gameplan is kind of frustrating, too; if you get in and load up the zero weave gauge early, she's scary, but if not, you're stuck with a lackluster normal mode and have to rely on overdrive or rapid cancel gimmicks to do anything at all once you eventually manage to escape the opponent's pressure. She can't just take momentum back on a whim. Tsubaki - See above, though not as limited in options. Would she be recommended for actual competitive play? I see very few Tsubakis in tournaments, in general, and just want to double-check that she's actually viable. The Tsubaki forums general discussion seemed rather indifferent towards her; she just doesn't seem to get much love. Rachel - Still an option! She's way too sluggish for my taste without wind, though; I really do prefer characters with better "natural" movement, but it's not a deal-breaker. Probably still my default choice if I can't figure out who to switch to. Honorable mentions - Noel, Carl, Azrael. These are the three I seem to come back to the most while randomly spinning around the character select screen. Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this, whoever does, and for any advice you can offer. Cheers!

Character Recolors, PSDs, and Renderings [*New* BBCF Available]
Dreizehn replied to Tong's topic in Zepp Museum
Hmmmm, so, I should draw paths based on colors too, instead of just areas? I'd been drawing a path for every article of clothing; say, one path for her tie, one path for her hairpin, one path for the border of her pin, one for her belt buckle...it took forever, and they weren't matching up properly. I opened up one of the templates on this thread, the one for Noel's BBCP art, actually, and saw there was a path for, for example, hair, but also one that just covered every blue piece of clothing together. I thought anchor points had to be connected to be part of the same path, but it looks like you can draw multiple areas and have them all be part of a single path for recoloring. I definitely have to try that. Thank you for the offer! Yeah, I'll keep trying myself too, I still want to learn, but I really appreciate your offer to recolor it, that'd be great. I'll share my own recolor once it's done, too, and hopefully I can bother someone for a critique to get better at this! -
Character Recolors, PSDs, and Renderings [*New* BBCF Available]

Hello, everyone! I was wondering if I could make a request as well, if someone has time for it. I found this picture (which I hope is large enough, 694x774 px): Original: Background removed: I've been struggling to recolor it to use on my stick art design, but my path drawing is somewhat messy, and the end result is...not too good. Could I bother one of you for help? I'm trying to recolor her to her #8 BBCP color (the one shown by Murki a few posts above). I'll keep trying in the meantime, and upload it if I manage to end up with something less hideous than my current attempt. Cheers! P.S.: Tips on how to draw paths would be welcome, too! :3 I'm using GIMP for editing, if anyone uses it. Thanks again! -
Cool! That gameplay guide is amazing; I've just read through the zoning part so far, and there are so many new ideas and things to try out just in that section, it's not even funny. You know, I hadn't ever gotten how you were supposed to use the pumpkin before. Maybe I'll be posting some vids to that critique thread eventually, myself, once I'm confident enough with Rachel to try her out in matches again. I bought a Dazzle to record for P4A, and it'd be really cool to get some feedback eventually. Anyways, thanks for being so cool, TD. I'll start with just going through that gameplay guide and trying to apply it against dummies and CPU's for now, and just see where this goes.

Thank you both; I really needed an outside perspective. I see both of your points, but I think I'll go with what TD said; I'll go back to Rachel for now. Even if it does mean a bit more time in the lab, I don't think I ever really tried her the way you described; I was so focused on practicing her combos, I never really saw all the possibilities her drive opened up. I'll read through the Rachel forums and perhaps post if I need a bit of help with how to use her wind for pressure, mixups, bolckstrings, etc. and still have enough for when you actually land a hit and wish to confirm into a combo. I'm excited to be learning her again! In the meantime, I'll do as Celerity said and play a more beginner-friendly character in matches from time to time so I won't burn myself out by staying only in training mode. Thanks for the help, again!

Hey there! I thought I'd ask for help in picking a main too. I've been playing BlazBlue since CT came out, but haven't ever been able to settle with just one character. I have no idea why it has been so tough to pick a main in this game, but it's really gotten to the point where it's rather ridiculous how I keep flip-flopping around half the cast. Just for Extend, I started out with Hazama out of character love, but his movement style was something I never could get used to; don't get me wrong, chains are great and all, absolutely amazing, but I just feel uncomfortable with his regular dashes and the short range on quite a few of his normals. I moved on to Rachel and grinded her lvl.2 j.2C for over a month until I could do it consistently, then decided I didn't like wind management after all; I picked up Litchi next, and she's been the one I've spent the most time on up until now, but I still can't make up my mind. It's been over a year and I want to, you know, actually get out of the lab and stop practicing combos and setups and gimmicks with half the cast and actually play the game, but just can't find a character that clicks. I want someone with decent mobility (not necessarily super fast, just not sluggish) and good pokes, someone I can biide my time and pressure the opponent with until they make a mistake and I can rush in. I thought I'd ask for suggestions; CP is looming on the horizon and I spent this entire iteration of the game trying things out in training mode, and would rather not have that happen again. Any help is most welcome!
