Alright, Gonq meetup is back starting tomorrow. Show up for some animu, I'll be recording some direct capture RAW and uploading to Youtube. 6PM 'till 11PM, later if I can score a ride. Apparently the slims have HDCP encoding. Can't record it without stripping that out.

Wewt. I just got some sick adapters from good ol' Hong Kong today. Fixes all my audio issues AND allows me to stream from PS3 slims. Gonna record some sick raw footage of Skullgirls next week instead of streaming.

I need viewers for that feature, IIRC. It requires extra server-side encoding, so Twitch will only do that for people of higher viewcounts. What I upload is what you get at home, so it needs to be Bandwidth-Friendly out of the gate unless I can get a large viewership (Not going to happen... maybe some day. ).

Then that's exactly what I'll set the VBR to, I was stable and broadcasting at roughly 6 to 7 Mbps last time (Connection to Twitch tops out at 9.5). Gracias.

I will be running Melee. I haven't interacted with the Ottawa scene for that at all, so I'm not sure about turnouts OR the level of competition. It WILL be there, however, as the general student body LOVES dat shit. Brawl and Melee will be run. I do have a 27" CRT that I'm willing to ferry out to the venue for it, provided I can acquire transport and enough hands to lift the fucker.

Since I have some seriously vast resources to pull from, I think I can swing some nice electrical for people who want to bring their own gear. I have two consoles and four extra monitors on my own. They're like 14ms, which is technically sub-frame, but I figure I can use them as scrub-bait while I stick people who actually care on the shiny ASUS monitors.

I'm throwing an event out of Algonquin College here in Ottawa (The building we've booked off is spacious, well-wired and has a Starbucks literally next to where you'd be playing), so if any of you are interested in coming out, feel free! Trying to woo Montreal into coming out for the day as well. Would really like some feedback on what it WOULD take to get you guys to come out. I have enough time and resources to throw about 5 giant-arse events by purloining space and venue from the Canadian school system.

Psst. Hey. Montreal. I'm throwing a semi-humble event here in Ottawa. Essentially I've found a way to get the Canadian school system to front everything for an event short of the console stations themselves. Tons of space and all the electrical we could possibly want. The upload out of the college can reach upwards of 100Mbps. I ran a stream of GG last week, we capped out at like 9.2Mbps encode, which was the bottleneck to the New York Twitch servers. Haha. I want to run pretty much everything, so if you guys are down, the Ottawa DL guys would be ecstatic to give you their money. Haha. I can run two of these a year for practically nothing now that I've worked out logistics, so there'll be one of these a semester. I'm pretty fresh to event organizing, but I've done/I'm doing my homework. Regardless of whether or not any of you guys can come out, what would you guys want to see there? I realize this is pretty short notice (Slogging through the red tape to make sure this was actually feasible was a nightmare) and I know what the drive is like, but this is a thing that's happening, if you're interested! :S Thanks!
