  1. Yo. Algonquin College Monday Meet is tonight. Going to give a good run on those EVO monitors. huehuehue e206b. Second Floor Above the Starbucks in the Student Commons. 6pm onwards. There will be another stream. I'll get dat overlay going. I MAY hold a second Tuesday meet with a stream on the following day. Stay posted on that. The way I figure it is that I can leave my rig overnight in the offices. That way I can set up shop two days in a row. I have to make sure I have enough time for homework.
  2. People don't seem to believe me when I say the venue is Tits McGee.
  3. Go out of the bookstore. Walk straight. 2nd Floor above the Starbucks. Room e206b
  4. My goal is to destroy all Valkenhayns.
  5. There's still a lot pending. I'm in talks with Myles and Co. so things don't end in explosions and shitty tournaments. The LAN may end up very rag-tag due to size. It's not big, only around 60 stations. This means MOBA tournaments are very tough to do properly (Especially since non-MOBA players may be taking up station spots). I wanted to try to organize a remote tourney, but that understandably brings a lot of complications to the fore. Preparation is going to make or break the MOBAs, and I don't have much time. Luckily, I'll be doing one of these every semester. If this one is a bit bumpy, I'll just do another one... and another one... and another one... I can do about five before I graduate. Or I could just Van Wilder this shit.
  6. Note: Oh yeah. Going to post this here. Algonquin Game Fest (Working Title) - March 16th, Saturday - 10am to Midnight* Location Algonquin College 1385 Woodroffe Ave. Ottawa, ON K2G 1V8 Student Commons - Robert Gillett Building Second Floor Above Starbucks - Sick-Ass Conference Room e206 Planned Fighting Game Tournaments* Super Street Fight IV - Arcade Edition v.2012 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Mortal Kombat 9 Guilty Gear Accent Core + Persona 4 Arena Skullgirls BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend Soul Calibur V Super Smash Brothers Brawl/Melee Playstation All-Stars Street Fighter x Tekken And Whatever the Hell We Feel Like Running... Planned LAN Tournaments* League of Legends DotA 2 Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm Event Details Algonquin Competitive Gaming is throwing a giant gaming event. We've come across a trove of 360s and EVO Monitors thanks to Gaming Ottawa, and with the help of the community and the Algonquin Student Body, we plan to throw the most sick set of tournaments ever. The event will be livestreamed, and HD recordings will be saved and uploaded for perusal after the event. The venue is some serious dope ass shit. There's a well-stocked cafeteria open late into the day, and a Starbucks open until 9:00pm. Restaurants/Tim Hortons close by. A minute South off the 417 highway. We're going to try to run tournaments for every game, with either Top 8 or Top 3 for every title broadcasted and recorded. If the FGC is up for it, you're free to set up shop and do your own broadcasts/recording. We have the space, and the government-level upload. We'll make space for you. We're going to try and have a free-play area for casual matches and a place to bring your own setup. I'm going to bend over backwards to make this event as legitimate as possible. Since I come from the FGC almost exclusively, I'll be keeping an ear to you guys to tell me what needs to go down. Every dollar you put into tournament entry will go right into the pots. Venue costs are pending, but should be free for console play. Give me input on what you want to see there, and any suggestions you can make towards running all these tournaments in as smooth a fashion as possible would be great. I'm still going to shoutout for volunteer setups and consoles. More can't hurt. Just bring out your gear and set up. We have security cameras in the conference rooms and I'll be implementing some extra measures to keep things safe. Anyways, more info coming down the line. Stay Hungry.
  7. I am out to get your Valkenhayn. Love, Bruce.
  8. http://shoryuken.com/2013/01/28/persona-4-arena-mitsuru-resets-and-gimmicks-by-kaebr/ Why do I even play Kanji? Edit: Oh yes. Chairs. I forgot.
  9. All I have to do is install Jaxel's Xsplit overlay. It's no biggie. That's me opening up the stream in another window. Haha. My streaming rig was the only machine with a connection capable of watching that much dope-ass quality without buffering for years. It's nice to know I can max out like that. That was a butter-smooth 720p encode at disgusting levels of quality.
  10. Go right ahead. I'll probably have to do a lower-quality encode in the future, since I can't even stream the archive after the fact. Haha. Gotta buffer that shit. The connection to Twitch caps at roughly 9.2Mbps, so broadcasting in the 6 to 7 Mbps range shows little in the ways of hiccups.
  11. Stream is up: www.twitch.tv/krackatoa
  12. I've got a PS3 for tomorrow. I'll have Persona for it at the very least in a week or so.
  13. I'm going to try and have a PS3 there. No guarantees. I also have nothing in the way of PS3 games. :\
  14. Numbers have been extremely variable as of late. We generally have a healthy turnout of ArcSys fans (Roughly four guys), so you should be good. Worst case, we can play. I'm dying to try all this Faust crap I've finally read up on.
  15. Algonquin meet tomorrow. 6pm onwards. Student Commons, e206b. Livestream fo' sho now that I've tested everything properly. Let's do some GG and Persona. I'mma immortalize you in Super Mega HD.
  16. Shit. After watching the SCR replays, I want to play more GG.
  17. Oh. That's what you were talking about. I just haven't touched AoA timing since the game came out. I have AoA bound to one button. I haven't really practiced it. Yes. I am. Also, my Hitbox isn't patented. It's just the only left-handed one the Hitbox guys had. What I bought was a prototype. They were even nice enough to include like 6 extra plexi cuts for it.
  18. I don't usually have one to bring out. Sorry.
  19. I don't play this game and I'm the only one with a dope-ass quality stream? Step up your games, hombres. Ya Want Some!?
  20. Haha. That was just a loose jack. I've got a heavy L/R Analog to 3.5mm headphone jack sticking out the back of my computer. Not the most secure piece of audio hardware. I also fixed some clipping that was happening. The audio sounds way nicer now. http://www.twitch.tv/krackatoa/b/360011782
  21. 13Mbps? Dood. I'm recording at 780Mbps
  22. Oh. For fuck sake. It was the new Blackmagic drivers... AGAIN. Stream/Recording rig is up and running, outside of a small audio issue that I need to fix (Using a workaround right now that won't do if I want commentary). Demo of the quality I get from my house at 600-900kbps. Here's a screenshot of the uncompressed video. I CAN RECORD EIGHT HOURS OF THAT
  23. It keeps my stream fails on the DL, so don't worry. Driver issue meant I could only record footage. I'd BSOD whenever I'd open Xsplit or Live Encorder. Going to fix it by next week. Edit: Been testing uploading to various servers. Essentially, we are only limited by the servers we're uploading to.
  24. Sticking to Monday's until further notice. I'm not guaranteed exemption, apparently. I have to go to an interview and tell them how good at computers I am. I want to lug my rig out tomorrow and see what I can do with the connections in there. EDIT with MEET UPDATES: Monday Gonq meet is happening. 6pm onwards, room e206b, Algonquin College Student Commons. Above the Starbucks. We got everything (Except skilled players...) I'll be testing that tasty stream connection. Upload some sweet recordings of me flubbing combos. Freezer, I'mma show you how free HQ's capture setup is.
  25. Unfortunately that doesn't mean much unless I can get a twitch account that allows for a 720p stream option. I think that's tied to viewership.
