^ mostly what I meant -- @ Yukikaze -- thats more of an exception than the rule--- there are far far more examples of a series being lived out as long as they can by the respective companies that own them

If the franchise continues to create income and valuable increase for the company I see no reason why they would allow it to die prematurely instead of giving it the Xrd treatment or something along those lines-- why do you think there are forever amounts of call of duty? constant sequels of movies and reboots?
