Games I'd enter are Xrd, +R, and P4U2. I'd jump the hell on Catherine or Puzzle Fighter, but my bias is with Puzzle Fighter.

It might be too late to plan for January, but I think it'd be cool, if it's feasible, to have a regular monthly even when there is a major in the same month. That way, if, for whatever reason, not everybody can make it to Kumite AND BADC AND Final Round, they at least have a thing closer to home that's potentially easier to go to. More community face-to-face time that way, and we get an option to play in a tournament environment without shelling out a bunch of dough to go out of state. I dunno what previous reasoning has been, or how that messes with schedules, though. Attendance might be low in a month with a popular tournament, though I wouldn't mind showing up just to hang out with a couple of you. <3

Cookeville populated top 8, Papstr stared into the heart of top 3 and gave it the bird, I got a hat I can wear to family gatherings, and a cat pissed on Chandler's suitcase again. Good day!

I have a PS3 with an HDMI cord, a monitor, Gear +R, and a Persona copy currently without the dlc. (alsopuzzlefightercough) EDIT: Er, in the requested format, Playstation 3 Consoles: 1 PS3 Persona 4 Arena Copies: 1, no dlc Playstation 3 Consoles w/Guilty Gear: 1 Playstation 3 Consoles w/Suguri: ... Number of consoles that overlap games: 1, I guess? Monitors or Flat-screen televisions: 1

Blazblue, Gear... VSAV? Also Suguri!

So damn happy. @Kyle, what do I do for my anti-air game vs characters like Sasquatch and Talbain that have a hop and a jump, as Rikuo? It seems like LP and MP stuff their hops pretty well, but the same moves seem useless vs normal jump-ins. Minion and Chandler in particular will hold up forward when they notice I'm not doing much to stop them, which is nasty when I'm stuck in the corner. Should I be trying to contest them in the air?

I'm kinda sleeping on BB. VSAV and GG are my foci atm, though it's hard to get Cookeville to play VS and Cookeville's GG kinda stagnated slightly with frequent Jackie absences and Pap/Bane's not actually being from Cookeville. Needs moar online. Speaking of VSAV, I'd love to go to Ohio to get bodied by people that know what they're doing, but I'd need a ride.

Middle Tennessee needs a beach episode.

I've been playing lots of Rikuo. I'm really fond of his kit, though he's a bit on the simple side. I'd feel a lot better if my 632PP's were 623PP's. :S

@Uri: Lauren'll be at Omnicon in Cookeville this weekend. http://omnicon.us/guests/ I won't be able to go to Final Round. Too many scheduling conflicts with family etc.

^On that note AULBATH VS SASQUATCH HOW DO ;.;
-
I think I've scavenged together enough money to go to Final Round, so the probability that I'll be going is high.

It's not her fault :C GGs Klein! Aside from a few slowdowns here and there, the game actually felt uncharacteristically responsive. Perhaps it's to do with how close we are? I haven't had as many opportunities to play as I'd like, so sets like that are good to keep the rust off my Robot. A lot of what I do is still somewhat herpderp, but I feel it getting better.

Still silly, lol. Dora was fishing for that FC for a while; he'd just throw out the quite negative-on-block 3C, and RC if Jin blocked.
-
These new midscreen Bang combos are so complicated. EDIT: Errrrr it happens at about 6m8s

I think it's helpful to have a tentative tier list to aid discussion of relative character strength, and that it's more useful to discuss the reasons for the validity of the placements than to dismiss the thing entirely. Particularly if you acknowledge it'll never be perfect, even after it's had time to culture.

Maaan, I want the XBLA Spelunky so bad. PC MASter ra-*sobs* Derek Yu's a jerk.

I wasn't actually responding to your post before, but I see what you're saying. Still, it kind of annoys me. I see something like what they attempted with Blighttown in Dark Souls and don't think, "well, it might have been an okay area if the PS3 had better memory," I just think it excessive. The bigness or density of a place doesn't really enhance shitty level design. Out of curiosity and interest in vocabulary expansion, what is an affect-able persistent environmental artifact? Is that just referring to things like bridges, buildings, etc that linger long after your PC has dismantled them? I'm not particularly well-versed in developer lingo.

PC MASTER RACE! I hate having to upgrade to better consoles. The only pertinent thing the new one can do that the previous one couldn't do is play games with better graphics, when the graphics are the biggest reason development costs (the source of so many other problems with the industry) are so high. All these bells and whistles with the social integration and the dualshock touchpad and the remote play don't necessarily make the games better or more fun, either. I'll prolly end up grumbling and gouging my wallet for one anyway, simply because PCs don't get fighting games for some reason.

The only thing you'll find in Japan is a bunch of people with opinions, skilled or not. Their number values aren't exactly consensual. I don't really understand the stigma with MU numbers, hair-splitting and treating them as law aside. They're useful for communicating an opinion on something with a lot of gray area. Matchups being a binary 1 or 0 doesn't really say anything as to the why, a useful thing to players trying to maximize their chances or discuss balance.

I've embraced the breakfast burrito. It was an emotional moment, like a meeting with a long lost friend. If the friend were an edible brick of rice and beans wrapped in a flour tortilla.

ITT: People like to argue but not really. lol Great tournament, great experience. This past weekend was fantastic. These tournaments are getting better and better the more I go. I played quite a bit of Gear and got quite a bit of varied matchup experience as a result. Thanks to Milln for housing us and setting out an alarm for us... that nobody got up for. I'd come out to Kaos Theory a lot more than I do if I could split the cost of gas with the poor college kids I take as passengers, I've immensely enjoyed every opportunity I've had to go. Thanks to The Bearded One for the Slayer experience, Anne Frank for the Bridget experience, Last Star for the Millia experience, and Naimat for the words of encouragement and the Johnny experience. Getting bodied by Phil is revealing. I freaked out so hard when I won a round on his May by just spamming knee rockets at him to the point that I didn't notice he wasn't falling for it after the first couple of rounds. I feel like I really underrepresented myself there. :C Sid vs Wes is still a bad match-up for everybody involved. Salty seas ahoy. I've begun actually attempting air combos I've practiced off of random hits, I've pushed fewer bad buttons in neutral, and my pressure is slowly getting less braindead, particularly when I catch myself auto-piloting 2K 2S 2D. On the flip side, my rare attempted combos are usually dropped or inefficient, I've picked up a bad habit of being a bit overzealous with risky knee rockets and 5HS FRC at neutral, and my pressure is still mostly braindead. Overall, though, I've felt a general improvement all around on . I feel like I'm getting closer to breaking down a few of my current developmental barriers.

Yeah man. At least, I intend to if I don't have to come to Game Galaxy from Cookeville the following day.
-
Is it alright if I take you up on this? I intend to come up tomorrow at least with Wes... I mean Minion... I mean my bro. Most everybody else from Cookeville will be coming up with Chandler.
