  1. http://youtu.be/E3-v1f55WUo?t=18m1s This reset is even more interesting XD.
  2. You can call out and outspeed a Nu 5D but you won't beat it with 3C if it's already out. Same with spark bolt really. It may go under it now but usually sneaking it just before the move comes out was how you'd get it to work and it always did that kinda. :p I think it does low-profile Tagers 5D in certain spacings...and 3C can actually punish an blocked 5D if tager doesn't cancel in into anything.
  3. Right, I think both of those take place in some degree. It's neither one or the other. So, what we're left with in the end is just...more people playing on ps3 at any given time and whatever that entails.
  4. FRKZ damage seems similar but due to OD duration you don't get full damage. All the combos seem to start out of FRKZ and then he turns mid-combo while in EX frkz combos actually started in FRKZ and usually from a heavy as hell starter like a JC. The damage of the mode seems about the same really. Off of 5A you'd get 5.3k in EX and the numbers are similar here when he has enough FRKZ to do the whole combo with.
  5. I don't know what makes PSN unfriendly when there's more people there playing in friend-matches compared to Live. If anything, it shows that the psn community is more tightly knit and befriends it's members while the 360 one is more individualistic and doesn't take as much care for the group. I've met lots of people who I've befriended through the game and if it's them or a random stranger who god knows what internet he's on and how good he plays, I'd naturally pick them. The times where they're not available are for randoms and in those times I have mostly found good matches against friendly people.
  6. When I talk about damage I talk about overall damage. Rachel had 10k combos in CS1 too but you wouldn't call her a high damaging char because of that.
  7. Right, if you play him conservatively he's nerfed while if you burn starts left and right he does, well, what he always could if you were to burn 6 stars on a combo. :p
  8. Hakumen has some crazy meter intensive damage but his average combo off of similar starters for similar (not insane) meter use is a bit lower actually. Jin is another one who got buffed, yeah. He was right down there in EX, right after Makoto Tsubaki and Tager I think.
  9. I think Makoto can do some better stuff now like her 214a-D has wallstick and so does her comet cannon, she seems more able to link stuff after her other Ds too. Stuff such as 2C. She also has her old particle flare 2 part combo extension for some midscreen stuff. OD is like the cherry on top with stuff like bouncing DP followups and lvl 3 everything on particle flare...which has a hokuto hyakuretsuken segment in it now. XD
  10. 5.1k and poison from a standing 5B is basically better than the damage we got in extend, the combo looks a little bit more difficult but not significantly so. When you take that and put it in the context of there being mainly damage nerfs for most of the rest of the cast (only ones who got buffed were like, Tsubaki and Makoto or something), I am more than happy with the numbers Bang is putting up. FRKZ being temporary is a small hit, I won't like, I enjoy running back entire matches when I was nearly perfected just cause I got a seal combo just as much as anyone but with this new FRKZ we are gonna be actually applying a hell of a lot more, in more varied situations and for more varied reasons (such as seal gain) so while it is a limitation, it does not come without it's share of options and plethora of paths for us to follow in return...and that is basically what Bang's thing is, so overall, I don't mind this change either. CP needs to come out on consoles already~
  11. It's gonna be IAD JC though, just practice doing something like J4C IAD JB and you should be fine. :p
  12. OD is based on remaining HP alone but if you do an OD-cancel (which is what you do when you cancel a move with the OD activation instead of going into OD from neutral) then whatever time you have based on your HP gets halved. This is why the ODs where Bang had full life lasted like 2 seconds, it was the minimum duration, then it got halved cause he was cancelling his moves into the OD. 5B has godlike proration, it was always a great starter, these combos don't do more damage than 5B>2B>6C>JD>2B>Daifunka does in Extend...but they're of course still good. I'm not sure if the RC is worth it unless you have like full OD but some combos out there will be built around prolonged FRKZ. Typically those would be confirms off of stuff like heavier counter hits/fatals. Something like 5Cfc>jump>OD>stuff. It really depends on how much health you have left in the end I think.
  13. Growing up in europe, the way I'd put it is you'd have microcosms, kinda like the Galapagos islands of the FGC. A tightly knit group would have it's own little things, it's own little adaptations and house rules and everything. If you were an outsider entering it'd be jarring and most often unpleasant so when people like that go out into the big bad world and try and apply their own things to it and fail, the reaction...it won't be pretty. I remember one time being in school and playing this mugen DBZ game thing on the library PCs when an uperclass dude comes and makes fun of me for not playing "real fighters", turns out he was into tekken but did not even have the newest one (back then that was tekken 4) so I invited him over to my house and I beat him up with my rusty tekken tag skills without much effort, he left salty as fuck but he never commented about my mugen ever again. XD
  14. Dunno, I think online varies based on system and on location and stuff. I hear 360 is a smaller pool of players. As for ps3, the online is great actually. Lots of good people, fun matches and all. If you find yourself minding being kicked (I take it as a token of respect, as they admit they can't beat me and have to kick me :P) then just host your own rooms. Problem solved! As for European players, well, I'm technically one of them since I lived in Greece for the first 17 years of my life but I'm in the US now...in any case, there's sure to be some bad apples everywhere, I would cautious to generalize and entire continent based on what few people on a single system do.
  15. Fun games last night Katz, netplay on GG isn't as bad as they say. I put some time in GG so I hope it showed. :D
  16. The flaws listed may be shared but he clearly said that the flaws are examples of what he dislikes about SF. Reading comprehension 101! XD "I'm coming from SSF4AE and I must say that the game is pretty bad designed in many aspects like:" When you say that and then proceed to list flaws, they are to be attributed to SF.
  17. I think he's speaking about SF4, listing why he dislikes it and why he wishes to go into BB/GG lol.
  18. But it hit Arakune out of the air during his JB (the move where he's all spiky and moves downward) for a fatal. It is a pretty low move but it does hit airborn people. It's gonna be all about how you time it. Also it's gonna be most effective against moves such as Tager's and Plat's J2C, stuff that stays out in the air for a while.
  19. It's not gonna be a reliable antiair due to spacing and recovery factors but in some specific situations it's gonna give us a lot more options than we ever had in the past as long as we have the meter to RC it. It just takes one 4.7k meterless combo off of an antiair to scare your foe into not jumping in at you...and that solves Bang's lack of good AAs problem too, albeit in an indirect way.
  20. Bang actually says "Combo wo kue!" or "Eat a combo/Get comboed!" during his phoenix palm move in CP. He's awesome. :D
  21. Right, he is pretty bunched up during the startup of JD, a lot of stuff goes under him as well as grabs and the rest of it is handled by the guard point. Your 5A is godlike but it doesn't beat everything. :D Each person is different so yeah, you need to play the player as much as the game. If you talk to people who play me locally and ask them how to get me to respect stuff they'll laugh, then tap you on your shoulder, sigh and buy you a beer, thinking back on their innocence. I don't respect something unless you basically force me by beating me with it like 20 times in a row. Every time my disrespect fails I just figure out that I didn't disrespect it good enough and I look for a different way to disrespect it better.
  22. Right, Mu's j2C and Bang's JD will beat out grabs pretty heavily and give you a nice combo after em too. I can get 4 seals or a bunch of damage off of a counter JD. It makes people think twice about wakeup grabs and grabs own guard points so it's in my interest to dissuade people from going for them. The occasional JD that gets stuffed by something is worth conditioning you to not grab me on wakeup lol.
  23. The function of the nails is to cause you to block and not advance. Bang has actually pretty horrible range and half the time if I try to enter with normal footsies I'll get outranged and poked out for free. The nails are there to make you think twice about pressing buttons and that few moments of hesitation is all I need to be in the proper range to do stuff. As for the wakeup guard points, it depends on the read, if I'm reading something like a TK tsubaki or a 6B from Haku, 2D will beat that. JD is when I'm reading a grab and 6D for basically everything else.
  24. GGs everyone, I joined kinda late but those were some good matches. I was happy I could end it with FRKZ. :D
  25. GGs to Ashen earlier. Had to go prepare some food...though it was a pretty long session by that point. I'm getting some more consistent combos with Slayer but his best stuff is still too risky to try and confirm for, at least online...luckily he hits hard enough without them even XD. With chars like Jam and Faust I have "some" matchup experience so I know what's coming at me. Others like Axl I just have to go by instinct cause I'm just seeing stuff I've never seen before half the time. I still die to myself the most since I try to do wakeup reversals in the online environments and they refuse to come out half the time...but the times that do are so satisfying. XD
