  2. I feel like ASW should just make their own clash-up fighter GGxBB or ASW Universe or some type ish.
  3. What's the link to their FB? I would go to boost numbers if they do end up adding a ASW game ;o EDIT: Nevermind, found it through some digging. More games are going to be added, as per SRK thread. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cjt95ZtbMAs FB Group: https://www.facebook.com/events/417615128358645/ For the luls.
  4. Good netplay is essential to the growth of the Arc System Fighters, however we can't become overly reliant, but the fact that our community can hold legit online tournaments since the connection is damn good puts us a step ahead of most other fighters because they have shitty internet. However, going and supporting the offline tournaments can help growth, however a lot of the pre-established tournaments already put these games on the back end which does not necessarily help growth. I think a lot of the problem has to do with the fact that people buy these games, and not necessarily for the competitiveness of the game, or to learn it. A lot of these newer games have really good story modes, with good character progression, nice survival and challenging score attack modes for most casual players that may be fulfilling in itself, which is why sales may show as pretty good, but may hurt the tournament scene. I think trying to recruit people you encounter online during the beginning of the scene to sites like this, where they can learn about their local scenes helps, and people who get involved in going to locals (like in NYC, there is Next LeveL) will eventually branch out and go to the bigger tournaments in their surrounding area. Building local and recruitment helps in a long run, because a lot of people are simply ignorant to the scene. Recruiting people from other fighters may prove more futile, than getting people who are already interested in the game to learn more about the competitive scene. Me personally, I was into 3D fighters and didn't get into 2D fighters seriously until BB:CT. And that was only because I loved the character design, story mode and the online had fun and friendly people. They would help me boost achievements, and we would stay in lobbies a long time...mostly for fun, spectating was fun when some good players came on and started destroying people, using moves that looked cool but took practice to do. I didn't even know this site existed until a little over a year ago, even though I had BB:CT in 2009. I wouldn't even be interested into getting into Guilty Gear itself, if it wasn't for Blazblue community getting me to come here, to check the game out. So yeah. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Without reading all the previous posts, can someone explain to me "shadow" characters?
  6. On wikipedia it says it too, so it must be true ^_^...odly enough also Stanley Kubrick inspired him. Mind blowing info.
  7. so if i'm correct all the ark system games are gonna be streamed here http://www.twitch.tv/BIBIQUADIUM at saturday starting at 2?
  8. If I may interject...when I first got into fighting games (several years ago, maybe like 2005) I did not even know there was a fighting game tournament scene. The most ever tournaments I even knew about games were MLG because of Halo and those at Pokemon World in NYC lol...but when I started hearing about fighting game tournaments in like 2008, I was referred to SRK..but I did not really get interested about it till after Blazblue CT came out. The fighting games I played tho were Soul Calibur IV, DOA 4 and Blazblue CT...none of which were priority of SRK...and then finally I posted in that section and got showed about this forum here. I was into Marvel but I could never put as much interest into the story. As a scrub, I honestly only liked Blazblue series because I like to watch anime, and the story of Blazblue is so damn good, and there's so much replayability through SP...even tho I played MP too and some helpful good players helped me boost achievements ^___^. I digress, however, as someone who doesnt necessarily play Blazblue of Persona to get into the tournament scene, I think a lot of people play those games because they love the story, or they like the design of the characters. Not a lot of people play these games to go out to tournaments, and the online for these games are flawless. I can literally play WC people from EC and have like no lag because of the netcode. I'm not saying that's a major reason, but there are a lot of reasons why the tournament scene is not that great. I feel like Ark System Works focuses the competitive scene mostly in Asia, especially since in Japan they can do Arcade Location tests where top asian players get that tournament vibe from the jump...while it's not the case in North America, where the scene is either locals, purely online or just play the game because competitiveness aside, these games are STILL good (unlike some other games that don't have character development through story progression or focus on the SP through many modes). Also for most people who go from BB or P4A to GG, there's a lot of vast change, GG is a lot harder for people to get into. IT's sorta like going from LoL to DOTA 2...it just turns you off at first, if that makes sense.
  9. Buy it again for cheap cheap online. Amazon, you wont spend more than 18$ at the moment. And then buy BBCP! Plus you get to prepare for BBCP and P4A 2 :O
  10. I'm a complete scrub but I'm down for PSN.
  11. Exactly Liberal! That's what I'm hoping for. Growth in this community is NEVER a bad thing. It's what sky-rocketed SFIV.
  12. I highly doubt MLG will be adding new games to their roster this year. And Persona 4, while a new game that may be great, hasn't got the best background and track record in games similar to it *cough*Guilty Gear*cough*Blazblue*cough*. I love them, but just being honest. Start with the grassroots scene first. If the Grassroots scene isn't that good, I highly doubt it'll be good on a higher level. Also, http://feedback.majorleaguegaming.com/forums/116515-pro-circuit-feedback-forum While people voted multiple times, I'm just going to put it out there and say maybe a goal of 500 unique signatures is very underwhelming. Good luck.
  13. Blazblue creator said he's not adding outside characters to the game. A bit outdated but link: here. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this. You guys have been spamming this shit up. 115 pages in 2-3 days lol! Hope tournaments do better and get more people...3rd time is the charm of course. Ya lazy bums
  14. "And that's the real hook, the strange alchemy that transforms a deep, rewarding RPG into an equally deep and rewarding fighting game. To watch or play a fight in Persona 4 Arena is to behold the impossible. It weaves the majesty and imagination of one of the best role playing franchises of all-time into the snarling bravado of a one-on-one brawler so effortlessly, one wonders why it's never been done so well until now. If you count yourself as a fighting game fan, but have always harbored an irrational aversion to “anime fighters”, now is the time to get over it. Persona 4 Arena is the genuine article. Miss it at your own peril." -- IGN 9/10 http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/07/persona-4-arena-review "After a number of spinoffs and side projects including its very own anime series in Japan, it was only a matter of time until Persona 4 dabbled in something well outside its comfort zone. But unlike so many other licensed fighters before it, Persona 4 Arena does a good deal more. By appropriately mating the strengths and traits of its mixed heritage, Persona 4 Arena flourishes as a fantastically realized fighting game that stands tall even without resting on the laurels of legacy. As such, whether you’re into the series or not, Persona 4 Arena is one fighting game definitely worth tuning into." -- GameTrailers 9/10 http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/sf82x7/persona-4-arena-review "Persona series fans have a highly accessible fighter that brings them back in to Persona 4's world with a new story starring all of the main cast as well as some cameos from Persona 3 characters. Really, this game takes fan service to a new level with countless nods towards Atlus' most loyal, in everything from the art to the storytelling. While it won't win any awards for originality, the story content here is robust enough to rival some RPGs and long enough for series fans to feel right at home." -- Destructoid 9/10 http://www.destructoid.com/review-persona-4-arena-232637.phtml "Here's the bottom line: If you’re a JRPG or fighter fanatic with even a hint of interest in the other genre, P4A is an absolute must-buy. With such a wealth of story-based content laid on top of the game’s steadfast 2D fighting foundations, P4A’s impressive debut sets the bar high for all forthcoming fighters." -- GamesRadar 4.5/5 (9/10) http://www.gamesradar.com/persona-4-arena-review/ "Perhaps more importantly, all of these characters and more come complete with their signature personas. In combat, personas are used much like assist characters in Marvel vs. Capcom. You'll call them in for long-distance attacks, retaliations, spacing-games, and combo-links." -- Gamer Revolution 4/5 (8/10) http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/persona-4-arena ---------- It's obvious to me that Arc System Works, the king of Anime Fighters, and dare I say, one of the best fighting developers in the world, has claimed right to being on top, as per usual. A release just on the heels of their announcement of Blazblue 3. It appears that if you play Marvel vs Capcom, you should have an easier time getting into Persona 4 Arena. It seems to be a general census. The content is far beyond most fighting games offer, and an accustomed amount of game modes, training and other modes that we see in Arc System Work fighting games. If you love fighting games, you should get this game. Don't let the visuals deter you. There is depth, a good story and tons of content with seamless online. Xbox 360 online has had some issues, but it is being patched as we speak. Best First Week of a Fighting Game in Japan in the last decade or so Figure that Dustloop would appreciate the thoughts and comments on this game. Hopefully it doesn't go over underrated by the FGC.
  15. So, the past fighting games were only on PC then? I was just wondering, I could get my hands on it, I was just wondering if it would be for PS3 if it is released. It can easily be imported by me if released.
  16. DoA vs Virtua Fighter? :o
  17. So is this game releasing for console or what? Is going to be import only?
  18. I have a question on rapid cancelling and when to use it. I know it helps you continue a combo, or stops you from using a combo that you are trying to get out of. I've just never used it in battle, and am wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of using it, knowing when to trigger it and use it effectively. Feel free to PM me about it
  19. Cool cool, should I add your listed PSNs? You could just add mine as well. I might not be on tonight though, deff tomorrow for most of the day. If you guys want to get some team matches in for the trophees (or help me with it) that'd be sweet too
  20. I am just wondering, I have done a bunch of reading around this forum and will probably get started on the combos thread for Noel later today. I understand the best way to use her is to close the spaces, get up-close, and get them combos in. Her 6A attack is really good, and can be used for a good combo starter to get the person into the air, and do some drive moves like diagonal bottom-to-right C. I'm still getting to understand the terms. But if anyone could mirror match my noel so I can save some replays and see how she's really played would be cool.
  21. I have it on PS3, and most of my friends who have Xbox and PS3, usually have their fighting games on the PS3. Also, imports are probably in the thousands. In downtown NYC alone, there is a store dedicated to imports where my friend picked up the new Naruto Generations and Gundam game..and they had sold out on imports of BBCSEx before it was released in the US.
  22. I can't wait to get NG3 and play this demo. I'm one of the only gamers this month looking forward to NG3 over ME3 just cuz of the demo haha lol
  23. I was just wondering who would be interested, it's never too early to plan :D. 6 Months in advance isn't too shabby :3 If anything I could transform this into a league of sorts, that isn't restricted to P4. I know a lot of us play mostly netcode, and I was thinking of maybe making our own Dustloop League, with standings and everything. I would be up for doing a majority of the work and if anyone wants to help that would be cool. Of course this is for PS3, but if someone wants to help the Xbox 360 side that'd be cool.
  24. Whose down? Dustloop Day 1 P4:Arena Tournament?
  25. NL4EVA :D Super Sekrit Groups of Trolls
